Recommended length of visit: 2-3 hours
Owner description: Discover the beauty of the Gold Coast canals aboard our 1965 timber vessel. This relaxing 2 hour cruise is the perfect way to enjoy the Gold Coast's waterways and peek into the magnificent homes and lifestyles of the rich and famous whose homes line the canals. Cruise through these man-made canals and discover what is known as the 'Venice of Australia' with a Broadwater Canal system larger than the waterways of Venice and Amsterdam combined. During this 2 hour cruise we will explore the three islands Chevron, Cronin and Macintosh. View the ever-changing Surfers Paradise skyline and travel to Marina Mirage Queensland's finest waterfront shopping and dining resort, Palazzo Versace Australia's only 6 star Hotel and the Sea World Resort and Water Park. With informative commentary the skipper will share some of the history of the Gold Coast, profile some of Australia's rich list and give an insight to some of the Gold Coast's well known identities, so sit back, relax and enjoy the extensive views of the coast skyline. The best way to discover Surfers on the water.

“A fantastic canal cruise”
Reviewed July 23, 2014

My wife and went on the canal cruise last Saturday.
Our initial impression watching the boat come into the pier was that we should have chosen the other company that has the bigger boat.
However, we are so glad we chose Steve and his company, Gold Coast Canal cruises.
The smaller boat allowed for a smaller, more intimate group. Steve was so hospitable and has such a thorough knowledge of the Gold Coast.
The cruise was relaxing and informative. The Devonshire tea was also delicious and a nice touch.
Thanks Steve and Gold Coast Canal cruises.

“Sensational!”
Reviewed July 11, 2014

Don't book elsewhere! Steve is a fantastic owner/operator of this small boat. Don't be put off by the size. It is comfortable with personalised service and you avoid the big crowds. The commentary is superb and the PA clear (nothing worse tham not being able to hear the commentary). Informative and entertaining with a very economical price. Plenty of self-serve scones with jam and cream plus tea and coffee. Goes to some areas not covered by the big operators. Avoid the big operators and enjoy Steve's warm hospitality on his own boat.

“Great canal cruise”
Reviewed June 14, 2014

Went on this 2hr canal cruise on the advise of visiting friends. The captain Steve was a great host with personality and good local knowledge, and as locals ourselves we can attest to this. He couldn't have been more helpful to our party of 4, one in a wheelchair. I informed his wife of this when booking, and because the lady can walk a few steps with assistance, he helped her on board with a minimum of fuss or discomfort and settled her back in the wheelchair to enjoy the trip with us. I think it was the highlight of her holiday.
The on board toilet needs an upgrade though. Don't know how it copes with longer cruises like parties etc.

“Lovely little trip”
Reviewed June 1, 2014

This is a great little cruise - in an area that is often over looked. I used to live here and never did this - so on this visit, I took a local person along who had also never done it.

It was great to see the other side of the road view.

Steve was great - really great host who is obviously working hard to make a go of his business - so please support this venture.

We sat outside - and when its hot - make sure you bring something for shade.

Well worth the time and the money

Hi Chickyboomboom99, Thank you for your kind words. We are a small family-run business so we REALLY appreciate the 'shout out' for support :) And we could not agree more it is the best way to see Surfers; from the water.
