Owner description: Discover the beauty of the Gold Coast canals aboard our 1965 timber vessel. This relaxing 2 hour cruise is the perfect way to enjoy the Gold Coast's waterways and peek into the magnificent homes and lifestyles of the rich and famous whose homes line the canals. Cruise through these man-made canals and discover what is known as the 'Venice of Australia' with a Broadwater Canal system larger than the waterways of Venice and Amsterdam combined. During this 2 hour cruise we will explore the three islands Chevron, Cronin and Macintosh. View the ever-changing Surfers Paradise skyline and travel to Marina Mirage Queensland's finest waterfront shopping and dining resort, Palazzo Versace Australia's only 6 star Hotel and the Sea World Resort and Water Park. With informative commentary the skipper will share some of the history of the Gold Coast, profile some of Australia's rich list and give an insight to some of the Gold Coast's well known identities, so sit back, relax and enjoy the extensive views of the coast skyline. The best way to discover Surfers on the water.

“Excellent River cruise”
Reviewed April 26, 2014

We hired the boat for a hens day it was fantastic the driver was full of information pointing out different things along or cruise. Very helpful and extremely nice and great to deal with. Highly recommend very cheap compared to the other cruises that go to the same places. Definitely will do it again when we have overseas visitors since its byo food and drinks.

“What the boat lacks is eclipsed by the commentary”
Reviewed April 16, 2014

If you want comfort, this cruise boat is not for you. But if you seek an informative commentary with plenty of opportunity for a window seat, this cruise will satisfy. Over the course of 2 hours, you will see some palatial homes and understand what you are looking at in terms of where some famous people live in these homes and how much their real estate was worth as opposed to how much it is worth now. Lots of interesting background details to the Gold Coast as well. Don't go if you suspect it is going to rain as the top deck has no roof over it, and then there is a rush downstairs to the main cabin, which if already near full, leaves you with a poor seat. Free coffee/tea and scones & jam on a self-serve basis. Not expensive, particularly for Seniors, and hence a good value cruise. But it doesn't venture very far from Southport and doesn't cover for example Sovereign island further north, where some of the really glamorous homes are. But for $20-$25 for 2 hours, great value!.

Hi aussiewanderers, Thank you for your review and all it encompasses. Personally we could not ask for more; you took so much away from your experience with Broadwater Canal Cruises and that is our reward. So, thank you, for sharing :)

“Great morning had by all”
Reviewed March 20, 2014

Myself and my family recently did the morning cruise on the Gold Coast with Broadwater Canal Cruises.
The commentary from the captain Steve was interesting and showed a vast knowledge of the areas we were touring.
The morning tea of scones jam and cream really hit the spot and we would recommend these guys to anyone wanting value for money (especially family's) and a friendly relaxed atmosphere.

Hi Robert M, Thank you for your kind words and your recommendation to other families looking for 'value for money'. We could not be happier to have 'hit the spot' so to speak and, in more ways than one.

“Excellent value”
Reviewed March 20, 2014 via mobile

Just returned from the 2 hour Broadwater canal cruise.Steve the skipper was very informative, and the scones with jam and fresh cream were delicious, so was the tea . Would definately recommend this mini cruise at 20 dollars per person . Other cruises were the same price but for only 1 and a half hours minus the scone .Give it a try you will not be disappointed .

“Fantastic cruise”
Reviewed March 5, 2014

The only cruise that was two hours instead of the one and a half of the others. Steve the skipper was friendly and informative and we had a great day out on the water looking at how the other half live. Even saw Surfers without the cranes. Thanks for the fun day out.
