“Girls Holiday!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2013

Went in middle of august with 6 other girls aged 21! Would say the ionis is probably one of the best options if you are going for a party holiday as its right on the strip and a 2 minute walk to the beach! Pool is a good size and the food is nice ate here every day for lunch pretty much! The barman Zak was lovelyyyy and nice enough to show us around a bit! Plus he makes a great pinacolada! The only thing I would say is to watch for the receptionists telling you you need to pay for clean sheets because you got a mark on them...I ended up cleaning mine myself and the stain came out! Great holiday!

So whay can I say about the ionis art hotel? This hotel made my holiday! The staff are the most amazing friendly people I have ever met, so hospitable and caring! From the reception staff to the cleaners to the security guards! People on here slate the security guards, they looked after me and my friends that I met out here so much, even responding to drunken phone calls when they were ring sick! They were caring and kind not like the other reviews are saying like anyone show them respect and they will show you respect!
There was just 2 of us and we had a lovely double room which was always sparkling clean and fully supplied.
The pool area was great, just needed a bit more entertainment.
The location of the hotel is perfect and the fact you get discount at the on site fast food venues is even better.
So overall I woul recommend this hotel to anyone, couples, people there to party, or people there to tan! It is an amazing place to stay and I will be returning again and again!
Massive thank you to all of the staff at the ionis for making it the best 2 weeks of my life!!!

There are many mixed reviews on here for the Ionis and if liked me you read into these and were a little worried.. Well I can assure you have nothing to worry about. I have just returned from 2 weeks here from 2 - 16 August

Like with any hotel you stay in there are pro's and cons and this is no different. The hotel location really couldn't be better, as you walk out the hotel you re surrounded by shops, bars, restaurants and clubs. The beach was also just a 2 min walk away.

The staff couldn't be friendlier, nothing seems to much trouble for them. The cleaners and reception staff were extremely nice and helpful. As for the 'controversial' security guards.. They are brilliant, they are there to do a job, you treat them with respect and they will do the same back.

The rooms were cleaned every day to a very high standard with fresh towels left daily.

If you are travelling in a large group then I recommend emailing the hotel before you travel and they will put you in rooms next door to each other. I emailed them with a similar request and they confirmed back to me the same day!

You do have to pay a 30euro deposit when you check in to cover any breakages etc. This is refunded when you check out once your room has been inspected.

The snack's you get from the pool bar are reasonably priced and are nice. Yvette the bar lady was very nice and always helpful. The continental breakfast was surprisingly nice too.

You don't get any noise from the strip or the pool area as when the doors are closed you cannot hear anything from outside.

Now unfortunately there is some bad points to this hotel..

Zak the barman - He is a sexual predator.. he scours the pool area during the day for girls, he looks to be very hands on and I saw a few girls having to literally push him off - I even saw him undoing a girls bikini top, this isn't acceptable for any hotel never mind what should be a 4*

Pool - Was a little small and got very busy mid afternoon. You also cannot take food and drink purchased from outside the hotel by the pool. i can understand alcohol but when you're in temperatures exceeding 40 degrees you'd think they would let you take your own water. A way round this - If you go to the Buy and Save supermarket over the road (opposite Sin City) they do the same water that the pool bar does but you get 6 bottles for 2.50euros instead of 1.60euro each!!

Rooms - They are a little on the small side but to be honest they are more than adequate if you're just using it for a base to get ready.

Sleep quality - The nights you don't go out you will hear people coming in running up and down the corridors yelling and screaming but this is no fault of the hotel I guess.

In summary then.. If you have booked up for this hotel then you wont be disappointed if its a week or 2 of copious amounts amount of alcohol and no sleep. Just ensure you respect the staff and the hotel and you will have no issues whatsoever. The hotel will try and make money off you if you don't. A group of people got charged 35euros just for losing the plastic back off their AC remote control.

While you are there you MUST go to Michaels Place for food and drinks - Its located next door to Three Lions. The food is AMAZING and the staff are equally too. You get a starter, main course and 4 rounds of drinks for just 15euros each!! Cant recommend this place highly enough

Really nice hotel with friendly staff. Everyone was really kind to us after we had a bad beginning at another hotel.

It was loud because of the clientele in the hotel - used by 20somethings, but the location (5 mins to beach ) is worth it - going again!!!

Stayed here from the 31st July - 6th August and had an amazing week!
The hotel is lovely, rooms are spotless, the maid came in every day and we just used to leave a pile of dirty towels on the floor and she would change them for us. However, as the air con, safe and fridge are not included in the price we took up the 70 euro deal for a week which included them as we knew that we would definitely be needing a cold bottle of water in the morning! Also, remember that you will need to pay 30 euros breakage deposit per person which they will give you back at the end providing everything is ok, we had no problem getting ours back!
Do not worry about it being on the strip, you literally cannot hear anything from the rooms, so you can definitely get a good sleep!
The breakfast is continental and is served from 8:30 - 10:00 but most of the time we were up too late so we just ordered breakfast from the pool bar as it's reasonably priced.
Do not let the reps talk you into doing all the weeks events as it is too much and costs like 250 euros. We did the paint party, foam party and school reunion through the reps and to be honest next time i wouldn'tbother, i would just buy them through the actual clubs.
The two events that you NEED to do are the paint party which is at rescue club and a lot of fun and the Rum and Raybands booze cruise - it is 40 euros but it is by far the best thing that i did out there! You can can pre book at www.thisiszante.com or just pop to the info centre down the strip, its like opposite the club, sizzle. They come around with big bottles of vodka and rum and just pour it in your mouth, the drinks on board are 5 euros but i just waited for the bottle to come round as that was free!
We also paid 20 euros for total karnage - what a complete waste of money, basically all you pay for is an orange t-shirt. I would definitely recommend not doing this.
Chevys and olympic flame along the strip are good for dinner, reasonably priced and have free wifi! Cool peppers which is along the beach, is amazing for dinner cost us 20 euros each for a starter, main and a coke, so quite pricey but definitely worth a visit!
Right, on to night life now. We always used to go the pool bar for a drink first as we loved Zak, the bar man, he would also make us whatever drink we wanted, just tell him and he will create it! We would head out around 12 as before then it is dead! We really loved chevys and the three lions to start off with and then club wise go to, Linekers, Rescue and Zeros. At around half 3 head to cherry bay which is near the beach, great way to end the night. Open to 5am weeknights and 9am at the weekend, girls get in free which was a massive bonus for us!
Oh and lastly, Nikos and Adonis the security guards have been getting some bad reviews on here but i just want to point out that if you have respect for them, then they will have respect for you. We got on really well with them, always having a joke when we rolled up at 6 in the morning asking how adonis our greek god was which was so funny as he is the big, fat one!
Overall, brilliant hotel, briliant nightlife but dont be pressured by the reps!

Well hello again how can this be a holiday destination sold by Thomson, firstly everything is extra, the air conditioning, the fridge and the safe, this will set you back 200 Euros when on a budget that's a lot for a week, the hotel states it has a KFC and a Pizza Hut ! You got it wrong these companies would not associate them with such a poor hotel, what they do have is a onsite Kernels Chicken and a Pizza Hub which are both terrible in quality and value.

Now for the terrible bit bullying and offensive security guards, both Nicos and his mate both got my son and kept saying to him that he was Gay while both stood on either side of him with there faces very close to him, you know the prompt very intimidating but not big or clever at all and thats why they are only two bullies not security guards as they don't have the brains to do anything else in a failing economy that needs tourism to move forward from the economic problem, you can see how strong i feel about this as part of our business in the uk is security with some 200 guards who are a total credit to the job they do and deliver a professional service to all, I hope the management get rid of the sickening disgusting pair before it does effect business, they even would not give the lad his key for the room they constantly made him wait and pretended he was not stood there! Everyone's sexuality is not there business they have no right to act in this manner with anyone not a least a hard working guy with his friends who saved all year to visit a beautiful island spend hard cash to help there recovery and be treated in this way. What happened to service with a smile, it turned to cant be bothered with you had your money with threats and abuse ! If your a parent and read this book somewhere else your kids deserve better not bullies, a full complaint is being compiled to Thompson who unless this problem is removed should remove the hotel from the brochure before the abuse and bullying turns to violence and someone gets hurt here.
