We were in Zakhyntos in the end of may 2012. Hotel Esperia is good located, clean but breakfast is a bad joke. They offer just ham, chease , flakes and small boxed with marmelade!!! After the breakfast you just have to go out and buy food.
I don't understand... aren't they ashamed to offersuch a poor breakfast for 6 Euros?
But we made a great choise and we didn't reserve some other meals to this hotel.
For eating there... i don't recomand

I would recommend it if you traveling on the budge t!!!. Its comfortable and very clean but no luxury... Normal 3* I would say. Night life just on the doorstep if you looking for any ( but majority of the clubs packed with teenage english looking for fun during the night and then sleeping alongside on the beach during the day ) After reading the reviews I was sceared about the noise as I was traveling with my mum... but none of us heard eny noise during the nigh ... Foodwise : Breakfast served at he hotel itself were ok - some fresh joghurt and canned peaches (yummm) tea, coffee, good selection of breads, eggs, honey, jams, cheese, ham etc... but no fresh juice ;( but dinner served at Mr Dallas (next to the Hotel) was always good.(try Kleftiko !!!! Yuumiii) We spend a week in there last September and had a lovely time.

Room Tip: Less noisy rooms on the pool and inner side of the hotel :)

unfriendly staff with NO English skills, no personal at the poll bar, very thin walls and you can her the discussions from the other rooms, small rooms not very clean, the towels are changed once a week, the breakfast is awful (bread, butter, jelly, tea, ham, cheese, coffee and cereals -every day the same thing), hot water not all the time (only if you are lucky), A/C and refrigerator only if you pay extra, if you want to sleep in the night ask for pool side room, the gym and the jacuzzi only to show not for usage, the ''parking spaces'' are actually 3 spaces in front of the hotel and the ''Internet Access'' is actually one PC that it's not working properly and an expensive one!
The only good thing is that is close to the beach and clubs.

They wish to be a 4 stars hotel but is actually a 2 stars hotel!!!

I can recommend Esperia as a great hotel if you are young and ready for party. The hotel is with perfect location, 1 minute from the beach, 1 minute to the bars and discos, close to the airport, lots of restaurants and romantic view and it is very clean!!!
I am not giving excellent rating because of the breakfast, every day it was the same
(we stayed 7 nights) and because of the extra charge for AC ( 6 eur per day). Ask for a room with a view to the pool, because you can sleep even if the door is open, no matter music from the bars.
Love ZAKYNTHOS! :)

The hotel is good and the standard is normal greece, so it's not bad to be a hotel in Greece, but the doors are very thin, so they sound from the walking area is strong and that might be an issue if you don't sleep as deep as I do.

There was a new poolarea and poolbar, but somedays it was rather dirty and the bar was seldom open, but on the other hand, this was at the end of the season, so I can understand if the bar is not open when there is not filled up with ppl.

There are also possibility to rent A/C and refrigriator, which can be rather nice if it's warm.

We stayed at Esperia and thought that was an average/good hotel. The pluses are
- spacious room, really nice, clean, hot water all the time.
- Staff was friendly
- The location is good as it is near the sea. The beach is nice sandy clear warm water, The minuses I would say first the breakfast was poor, every day had same thing - lucky us did not stay for 14 days.
The hotel is situated on the main street and cannot get much sleep Laganas has quite a busy nightlife.
