Just back from my 23rd visit to the poseidon hotel in zante and as ever had a fab time. As soon as you arrive and see the beautiful court yard with the impressive poseidon fountain you will know that you are at a quality hotel. The hotel is on the beach with a good sized pool ,a pool bar and snack bar which transforms into a restaurant at night. The food is of a fabulous quality regardless of if you want a snack at lunch time or a nice evening meal and the prices would be hard to beat anywhere with an excellent choice of local dishes and steaks. Once a fortnight they have a greek night for only 12 euros per adult where they have a self service buffett greek dancing and firework display which is always popular.
The rooms are clean daily and the hotel in general is spotless. Every year that we visit we see improvements whether it is the menus providing more choices or the improvements to the grounds ,but what never changes is the quality of the people which is what makes us come back year after year. From the cleaners to the wonderful receptionists, the bar staff right to the management this makes this holiday the complete package and I never have the headache of where I will be holidaying next year.

As soon as we pulled up to the Hotel, we knew we'd received an amazing deal! It was early in the morning, but the hotel looked stunning. The night receptionist quickly sorted our room keys and when asked, informed us that we could potentially move rooms closer to one another (we were in a party of 4 - 2 to each room) in the morning.

Breakfast the next morning was lovely, so much variety! From hot, cooked breakfasts to fruit and creamy Greek yoghurt to cereals and toast, everything tasted amazing and the staff couldn't have been more attentive. Fresh filtered coffee and tea making facilities, as well as juice and water were provided as well, so again, the variety was endless.

When we finally asked to move rooms, this was done with ease at no extra charge. The day receptionist (two blonde ladies) were absolutely lovely - so friendly and helpful!

The pool itself was lovely, a great size and so well maintained. At night, a water feature was added and the pool was lit up and looked captivating. We luckily had a room that faced the pool, so evenings were spent on the balcony, appreciating the view.

The hotel bar was well stocked and cocktails were made generously with lots of spirits. The main barman Chris was so friendly and funny and just added to the positive atmosphere of the holiday.

The Hotel itself couldn't be in a more ideal location! The beach was a 30 second walk away from the pool, the strip was a 10/15 minute walk and the airport was a 15/20 minute drive away.

I'd say the hotel was generally more of a family hotel, but this suited us perfectly.

The rooms itself were nice and spacious and very clean. The En Suite bathroom again was nice and clean and free soaps were provided. Rooms were cleaned everyday and Towels changed every other day. I definitely couldn't fault the room one bit!

When it came to leaving, our airport transfer left at around 2pm, but checkout was 12 midday. However, the staff kindly provided us with a room to shower in etc until 2pm, again at no extra charge!

Overall, the stay was amazing. The hotel should definitely be more of a 4 star than a 3 star.

The staff were attentive and friendly, the rooms were clean and came with free air conditioning, the Pool was excellent (as was the pool bar and restaurant) and just everything about the stay was perfect. I'd definitely recommend this Hotel to all friends and family and will definitely return in the future.

Thank you, Poseidon Beach Hotel for an amazing stay :)

Room Tip: Rooms facing the pool seem to be quieter and have a better view.

Went on holiday with a group of girls, we were so happy when we pulled up here as it looked so nice on the outside. This didn't change as we went inside. Inside of being the two twin rooms we booked the man asked if we minded swapping for a joined/family room and he upgraded us to half board. Thank you for that, it saved us so much money :) The room was lovely, only downside was how stiff the door was; it was SO hard to open.
Only downside was the food after the first few days it got so boring as it was all the same. There isn't much choice at breakfast or dinner. We chose to skip some meals and go out. There are some lovely restaurants along the beach. Recommend Balsamicos and Cool Peppers!
Loved that this hotel was on the beach, our view was of it too from the balcony.
Amazing holiday in a lovely hotel!!

I have just got back from my stay here and wish I could go back straight away! We were a group of nine 17-18 year olds so obviously there for the clubbing. The hotel is a perfect distance from the strip, maybe a 15 min walk on the beach and therefore you can get some sleep.
When we first got there, the hotel was unfortunately overbooked so they sent us to another hotel in Kalamaki, not exactly our preferred choice given the lack of a proper strip. However, they promised us free safe, wifi, aircon and sunbeds for the whole of our stay, and made sure we got three rooms close together on the bottom floor which was great. They did everything to help us out, even calling our rep many times when one of us was ill.
The room itself was a good size for three people. The two proper beds were actually broken so we couldn't sit on the ends of them but were comfortable enough. Yes the maid doesn't change the sheets or the towels whilst you're there but she did sweep up daily the large amount of sand brought in from the beach after a night out.
The food and drink were overpriced I think for what it was, about 3 or 4 euros for a baguette when you could get a very decent one for 1.70 in the shop across the road, and the breakfast was disappointing, not that we made it there many times. However, this is a perfect hotel for youngsters going on the strip, and much better than the quality of hotels on the strip from what I heard. Much thanks goes to the staff for making our stay so memorable!!

Room Tip: If you can, get a bottom floor room; much easier to stumble into after a drunken night!

We booked the Poseidon for mid May 2013 for one week . Location being the prime reason but price also . Not disappointed at all . Right on the beach and a great place to stay . Our room was on the 3rd floor ,our balcony looked over pool area with the beach to our right. We had a the B + B basis and had breakfast a few times . Lots to choose from and although busy ,there was plenty of room and eating on the terrace was great. Hot & cold fayre was served and plenty of the greasy stuff for the Brits . Our room was ideal , nothing flash but it had all we wanted , clean & quite spacious . Safe deposit box & aircon were 20 euros each per week . Towels changed every 3 days but more frequent on request , no problem. The hotel had lifts and ramps so catered well for the less able . The pool was fine if a little cold in May but it was always well used . We took full advantage of the happy hour cocktails in the pool bar and bar prices were spot on . Food in the pool restaurant / snack bar was excellent day & night . As mentioned the hotel was right on the beach . Beds were readily available . There was a sign up for 4 euros each but we didnt pay and nobody seemed to be looking for us to pay . Outside the hotel entrance is a lovely little bar and we spent alot of time late into the late there as well . Food and drinks very good quality & reasonable . The main town and strip is approx. 10 mins walk away and there are plenty of bars ,restaurants along the beach and to the right of the hotel entrance . We thought a lot of the Poseidon and Laganas as well . Definitely a return sometime

Room Tip: Some rooms look over the entrance or hotel next door but a few people we spoke to asked for sea/pool...

Once again sad to be home after yet another fantastic holiday at the Poseidon. This hotel has everything perfect location, beautiful surroundings, close to town if you want the nightlife far enough away that you can't here the party goers if you don't!! The room was fantastic gorgeous views across the pool, the gardens, out to sea and the mountains beyond.. The staff are amazing friendly, efficient absolutely nothing is to much trouble... Roll on September when it's time to go back........

Stayed at the Poseidon Beach for 2 weeks in June 2013. It was our first visit to Zakynthos and we were there for a friend's wedding. We booked the Poseidon through Thomas Cook. The hotel was the only thing Thomas Cook got right! It was kept very clean everywhere both inside and out. The gardens were lovely and very well kept. The location was perfect also as we were not interested in being on the main strip, yet it was only a 5 minute walk to it along the beach. (The PR people outside every bar and restaurant on the way along the beach were very annoying though!!) We found all the Staff to be polite and pleasant, some more than others as you would find everywhere - Special mention for Zoi in the Snack Bar and Pano in the Pool Bar!! Pano makes the best Cocktails on Zakynthos and Zoi is the friendliest and most patient waitress!!
There was an air conditioner and a safe in the room - both cost an extra €35 for the teo weeks. Wi-Fi was free (password from Reception) but we found it to be a bit hit and miss in our room (ground floor facing the garden)
So why didn't I give 5 Stars?? The Pool!! It's too small for the 250 odd rooms. It was almost impossible to get a sunbed next to it unless you were willing to get up at 7am to put down your towel!! There were too many beds crammed in around it giving even less privacy than normal and a lot of the beds didn't have an umbrella. I imagine it was built for the original 80 rooms before they extended. The beds around the pool were free. The beds on the grass between the hotel and the beach were €4 for a pair and umbrella and the ones on the beach were €6. The beds were all very comfortable. There is supposed to be waitress service on the grass and the beach but we only ever saw her when she came to take the money!
Overall we had a great stay here and would definitely stay there again if we went back to Zakynthos

Room Tip: Ground Floor facing the garden (same side as the main restaurant) gets the sun in the late afternoon...
