Ok so i have just this minute got back from this holiday,
I booked it myself i am a travel agent for first choice so i am not going to be biast about the company, but me and my boyfriend have had a wonderful time we arrived and was greeted by the receptionists who were very friendly and told where our room was we found our room and yea there basic but what do you need there only for sleeping in at the end of the day!
There was quite a few kids there but did we see them? NO!!!
Jason and Manual did a fantastic job of keeping them occupied
with all sorts of activities, the location is fab just enough away to be away from the noise but close enough to walk to it all.
Food: Large selection of different things to try pasta dishes traditional greek food and boring chips etc... this goes bpretty much for lunch and dinner, (we didn't ever have breakfast couldn't tell you what its like) the only downside was sharing the dinner table but its not the worst!
Drinks are on tap and there is the snack bar serving hot dogs cheese burgers chip butties etc but ts good if you want a quick snack.
Ryan the rep was lovely very helpfu and informativel.
First choice as a company strive to make sure that there customers have a good time and have a good holiday from the moment they book to the time they get to there destination.
All in all i will reccomend this hotel to anyone.

stayed 3 - 10 oct 2006 with my husband, myself and my 2 boys 17 and 13 years. i read the reviews from this site before going on holiday and found they were a great help, thanks. took some nappy sacks for loo roll as suggested, felt much cleaner doing that. The flys were a lot worse than the review claimed, they were around the pool area all day long attacking your body, drinks and food. bar food was good though. meals were not to my taste so i stuck to salads (which i must say were delicious) although the lads loved all the food, bacon in the morning was hardley cooked. the entertainment is supplied by 2 guys, the lads enjoyed it, bingo every night if you like that sort of thing. we stayed in a large family room which consits literally of 2 bedrooms and a bathroom, the rooms (see photos) are very sparce but clean and i would rate them as a 2 star although the rest of the hotel is 3 star, the whole bathroom floods when you have a shower. the maids are very sweet and do an excellent job. the hotel is kept very clean. the staff are offended if you don't like the food and drink or even if you refuse the ice in your drinks. the hotel location is excellent for the town and beach. the trips the reps offer are available in the town for a around a third cheaper. we went on the boat trip around the island, we set off at 9.30 am and arrived back at 5.30 pm, most of the visitors on the boat (approx 200) fell asleep half way through as it was quite boring, all the passengers couldn't wait to get off. we went to the famous ship wreck (see photo) which was stranded in 1981 so not an ancient one which we thought. the rep told us that zante airport is very strict on the excess weight penalties ON THE WAY HOME TO THE AIRPORT, the cases are weighed together for each party so be careful as they charge 8 euros for every single kilo over, we witnessed a party with 11 kilos over so had to pay 88 euros, the airport is known as the cattle shed and is hot and has flys there too.

If you havent done a package holiday or stayed at an all inclusive before, DON'T

Trouble began on the flight where my boyfriend and myself were not sat next to each other and told to 'imagine it was a restaurant' and the isle gap was where the table should go...hmmm, no comment was made with regard to the xxx large person who overflowed into my seat so i had less than half a seat to myself for a 3 and a half hour journey

On arrival at the hotel all seemed fine, the hotel itself is set out nicely with 2 good size pools and the reception area is lovely. However we were soon given plastic hospital style bands which we were expected to keep on our wrists throughout the week.
We then went to our room which was basic to say the least, please see pictures! this is NOT not a 3 star bedroom. the bathroom was tiny and needed a good clean. later we discovered that the shower base can not contain the water and the whole bathroom floods when you shower, we used our towels to mop the floor and then found out that you only get one small towel and one 'large' towel which get changed twice a week. hotel staff were not happy to replace these towels even though we had had to use them to wipe the floor to prevent serious accidents.
The bed needed replacing, the mattress was lumpy and you could see all the bedsprings.
The door knobs to the rooms clanged and were close to braking point. They are loud enough to woke you up morning and night
To top it off we then had to pay 70 euros for air conditioning and a safe.

Food arrangements in the hotel are also rather interesting. On check in we were given a number and told we must sit at the relevant table for the entire time. Regardless that there was only myself and my boyfriend we got told off for sitting on a table for two rather than our designated table for 6 people.

Breakfast was standard with cereals and some strange yellow milk unless you wanted cooked breakfast and cakes
Lunch did contain salad options, however unless you are happy to eat cheap stodge products this is all there is to eat everyday. Lunch and dinner consist of plenty of bacon and chips and chips and bacon. This is not a place to stay for anyone who enjoys a balanced diet or vegetarian food.

There was also a ‘snack bar’ if you didn’t want to eat in the restaurant, however once again this is not a place to stay for anyone who enjoys a balanced diet or vegetarian food. The snack bar served chicken burgers and chips, burger and chips and chip butties and tuna sandwiches.

On a positive note the hotel provides lilos, table tennis and beach ball which everyone can use. The hotel itself is quite pretty and the snack bar staff are friendly

I would NOT recommend this hotel.

Just returned from the Hotel Margarita and what a fantastic holiday and Hotel. Stayed for 2 weeks in September just me and my girlfriend (18/20 yrs) and we just didn't want to return home.

On arrival we were warmly greeted by two ladies who gladly checked us in and handed us our wrist band, table number (only 2 of us so had to share a table with other couples which we didn't mind, but expect it to happen if your a couple/ small group) and guided us to our room.

Having booked a double room we were very pleased at what we had been given, a good size double and single bed, clean bathroom and plenty of space for clothes, basic but why do you need alot when you hardly use it?? Very well cleaned 6 times per week, not Sundays, and bedding/ towels twice.

During the 2 weeks I found the food excellent at every serving (great job Chef Harry, not a bad water polo player either!!), snack bar outside perfect for the odd bite. In the main hall they serve plenty of pasta and rice dishes, kebabs, ribs, beef steaks, homemade pizza and greek specialities and salads are always available and deserts to die for!! Most of the food comes from there own alotment and vineyard just down the road, which Phillipe gathers each morning, you'll also notice tha guy never stops working!!

Wide choice of drinks, all laid out on the wall behind the bar and of good quality!!

The best part of the holiday has to be the two entertainers though, Jason the Canadian Sensation and the Matadore himself, Manuel. The work they tirelessly put in for the guests is unbelieverble and they are a credit to the hotel!! It's just a shame they are going there seperate ways at the end of October, the end of the season, the place just won't be the same... For those of you who have been, no more Monica Seles or Canadian darts!! Just two of the funniest, out going men I've ever known.

I will definatly return without doubt, even without Jay and Manu, we didn't have a single problem with any part of the hotel but I can understand the problems it has had with lager louts this year, gladly we didnt have any, but the hotel is to put a stop to them next year so we can all enjoy!!

Excellent food, drink, accomodation, entertainment, nightlife, weather! Shere bliss!!

My new wife and I booked this hotel for our honeymoon via First Choice, who recommended it as the best hotel on the island for All Inclusive.
On arrival at 5am in the morning, we were given our wrist bands and keys to a TWIN ROOM!!!! on complaining to the reception we were told "that is what you have been allocated" (even though they had notes on our booking form that we were on honeymoon.
The first choice rep Ryan was great and after no help from reception he found 2 ladies that wanted a twin room and were given a double!!!
We swapped with Ryan's help but to the disgust of the reception staff!
They have no idea how to treat honeymooners or romantics so stay clear!!!
the hotel however was very clean, the food was good although if staying for 2 weeks we could imagine it being "same old same old".
The adults only pool is very quiet, while Jason & Manuel keep the family pool busy with activities.
The evening entertainment was great but the choice of drinks is poor and all the drink bottles are kept hiden so you really dont know what choice there is.
Also the air con is payable extra which is in the fine print of the brochure, but at 50 euros per week ia a rip off!
The hotel is close enough for town but far away enough from any noise but the large groups of boys and girls does spoil the atmosphere.
In short a nice stay for the family or short holiday but not for couples or honeymooners expecting a romantic pampered holiday!!
Quick foot note : the airport departures is an absolute disgrace and this will put us off from ever returning to Zante. Queueing outside for 3 hours in the weather, only to queue for another hour while you check in!! Disgraceful!!!!

We were recommended by First choice to stay at this hotel as we were looking for an all inclusive hotel near the night life BUT far away from the noise at night! We had a large family party of 14 with ages from 18 up to 69! We ate and drank to our full, we joined in with the free entertainment and the younger members went out to the clubs everynight without any hassel from the locals. Zante is like every other greek island - hot and dusty but the small beachs and sea life watching are a plus. We liked this hotel and for a party of 14 we had no complaints

Where to start we had 5 in our party consisting of 2 adults and 3 children aged 14,8 and 3. On arrival we were greeted by a very friendly receptionist who immediately took a shine to our 3 year old. It was explained that we would be seated at the same table in the dining room all week. This is fine for a larger group like ours as the table is yours alone, however if you are in a smaller group expect to be sharing with others.
The room was a family room with1 double bed and 3 singles seperated by an internal wall. The rooms could be a bit more modern and are fitted with energy saving light bulbs that take there time to light up. The balcony is large enough and your room is protected by a security door on the outside of the balcony as well as the patio window. There was one airconditioning unit fitted in the room with the double bed the drawback for this is that having paid 50 euros for the use of the aircon the room the children slept in during the night still got quite hot. The most annoying thing is that you cannot put toilet paper down the toilet as the system cannot handle it, so take some scented nappy sacks!
The food was ok however I think that for a hotel that is meant to be family focussed more effort is required to provide a greater palitable alternative for the children as a week of chips and boiled ham becomes tiresome.
The poolside was kept clean however it was spoiled by the fact that the place is a major attraction for wasps or bees depending on who you listen to. If you happen to leave a drink for 1 or 2 min then forget it as it will have 1 or 2 wasps in it when you return. The general cleanliness of the toilets could be better, as previously stated you cannot dispose of the paper down the toilet so at times in the ladies the bins begin to over flow I will leave the rest to your imagination.
I and my family found that the 2 entertainers Manuel and Jason were the best asset that the hotel has. Manuel offered to teach my middle child to swim I have yet to find another hotel entertainer who would put himself out like that. He was also willing to teach adults.
In the week that we stayed we did not have much problem with the groups of teenagers/young adults. However it is my understanding that the hotel has vowed that next year it will not except any of those groups. I would lay the blame on First Choice for booking the groups not the groups themselves who have found themselves in a hotel which is catered towards the family.
In summary I would recomend the hotel for a 1 week stay as I feel for 2 weeks it would become a little bit of the same same.
However you cannot go to any hotel on the Island and not take into consideration the airport. What a disgrace, the departure lounge is nothing short of a cattle market and that is the single thing that would put me off traveling to Zante in the future although by 2008 a new lounge is meant to be ready.
