We stayed here for two weeks at the end of August, what a fantastic hotel, absolutely spotless, our room was enormous and with such amazing views, there are quite a few steps around the hotel so probably not great for anyone with mobility problems, the staff are wonderful and nothing is too much trouble for them, you do get used to the walk up the hill on the way to the apartment, we did have a couple of very windy days so we couldn't sit out on our balcony. The resort itself is a nice family friendly resort and loads of restaurants and bars. we don’t tend to go back to the same resort twice but i think i would make an exception with Kamari. i would thoroughly recommend it to anyone.

Me and my wife stayed here for a week on the 17th of September. We rarely go anywhere twice because there is a big wide world to see but we will definetly return here one day. This is a spotlessly clean hotel with very friendly helpful staff. Nothing is too much trouble for Tasso the boss, his wife whose name I won't attempt to spell and George the barman(YAMMAS if you read this mate). Wide choice for breakfast compared with most Greek B&Bs and reasonably priced bar snacks and drinks. Because of its higher level situation the views are stunning especially sunrise- not really suitable for people with mobility problems. We upgraded to a superior room(513) which was huge with a four poster bed, three piece suite, private jacuzzi and large flat screen tv. Towels changed EVERY day & bed linen looked like new. Kamari has loads of restaurants and bars to choose from (our favourite was Peros for food). Make the effort to go to Fira to see the sunset but be careful of bar and restaurant prices- very expensive. Overall probably the nicest Greek island we have visited out of the 7 we have done.

This is a beautiful hotel which has a fantastic view. It is spotlessly clean with not. Thing ou of place. We upgraded to a superior room which was definitely worth it. We also had a jacuzzi outside our room which would have been perfect if the water had not been freezing! The pool again was beautiful and clean itch amazing views. Never a problem to get a bed but umbrellas were rubbish and provided little shade throughout the day! Pool freezing but nice when it is so hot. Staff friendly enough would not say anyone went out of their way though. Breakfast I think was poor the real downfall of the hotel. Same items every day. Nothing new.

With the spectacular view comes a walk. It's only 5 minutes to beach and downhill is fine but back uphill is steep. If you have an problems walking this isn't the hotel for you.

Kamari lovely and the bars and tavernas all really great. Enjoyed so many beautiful meals out. Went on a day trip doing the volcano/ hot springs and sunset is oia. Skip this and just g the bus to oia. It was hundreds of tourists crammed onto a boat hurried up a volcano and taken to some Luke warm dirty water. Lease don't waste your money. Oia on the other hand was spectacular. Really is the most beautiful sunset in the world. It's expensive- an orange juice 7 euros! But worth it. No where quite like it.

Overall this is a beautiful place and a great hotel. You will love it and have a fantastic holiday!!!

Room Tip: A superior room was beautiful!

We stayed at the Aegean View for a week from 3rd September and were not at all disappointed. All staff were very welcoming, good choice at continental breakfast and a lovely room with lovely rooms and peace and quiet. Always beds available around pool and we had full sun until around 4.30pm. Reading previous reviews we were a little concerned about the hill but we did not find it too bad at all as we walk a lot anyway but it could be hard work if you had problems with mobility and there are quite a few steps around the hotel itself.
We had a wonderful holiday, loved Kamari and would not hesitate in returning, only problem is there are so many other places we want to see...........

In 1992, we visited Kamari and Santorini Island for the first time, and since then have spent 4 more holidays on this beatiful volcanic island. In Kamari, the Aegean View Hotel is a perfect combination of a quiet place next to the rocks, with a fantastic view over the Aegean Sea, and a good proximity to Kamari beach in a 5-10 minutes walk.
The hotel has 23 or 24 comfortable studios and appartments. We (2 adults, 2 kids) had one of the Maisonette style studios. With that comes an issue with A/C: Keeping air conditioning on during the night, upper bed was still medium cool to warm, whilst having ground floor very cold - kids needed extra covers.
Restaurants are nearby, and we really enjoyed Sellada, which is just down the hill. The way back to the hotel is steep, but a nice walk.
Another tipp: A few meters out of Kamari (actually in Mesa Gonia) you will find the one and only Santorini Brewery, Donkey Beer. They brew excellent beer, and we had a very nice guided tour.
Hotel service was very friendly and helpful:
- daily room service, always sufficient fresh towels.
- We also used laundry service - nothing to complain.
- Breakfast was served at the pool, in addition to the buffet we ordered fried eggs and omelette, all perfectly made and served.
- Pool sunbeds were very comfortable
- George at the poolbar was always very friendly, and he is master of the BBQ (Saturdays).
All in all a unique experience for the whole family.

Room Tip: Upper rooms are closer to the pool and might be louder at night, due to the pool bar. But some of th...

My family and I stayed at the Aegean View from the 20th to the 27th of August 2013. The hotel is in a super location, nestling at the foot of the hill of ancient Thira and a 10 minute walk to the shops and the main stretch of bars and restaurants. We had two rooms both were large, very clean, with a fridge and cooking area and were very well presented, just like the pictures on the website. The lobby and reception area were also of a high standard with games and table tennis available. The pool area was in a beautiful setting and again very clean and safe. You get sun all day till about 1600 when the hill gives you a respite from the heat, 39 degrees on one day so we were grateful for the shade. All the staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for the owners. We were dropped of for a tour and given access to the hotel computer for internet access behind reception when the guest computer was off line. We did a lot of research before we booked this hotel and we were not disappointed. Would recommend and would return.
