“Truly Wonderful...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 23, 2010

We stayed at The Seaside Beach for nine nights during August and it is a truly wonderful spot, with genuinely nice people.
We stayed in one of the split level apartment/rooms which was located at the back over looking the pool. There was a basic kitchen but with good size fridge and then up a little wooden stairs was the bed room. The air conditioning is brilliant and the room airy which was greatly appreciated during the hot august days.
Everything which has been written about Manos, George and all the lads is true - they are friendly but not ever in an imposing manner and we always felt at ease and happy whilst they were around.
The Seaside Restaurant was the best restaurant we ate in during our stay (including Oia and Thira). We always make it a point of trying as many restaurants in an area when we visit it, and we did try and do this in Kamari also but we kept coming back to the Seaside because "at least we know our food will be fabulous there". Not touristy at all, never had a bad meal there and we had numerous lunches and dinners - wonderful! The night always turned into something special when we ate there and I just wish other restaurants (namely Sunshine Restaurant? very poor ) could learn something from them.
We loved the Seaside Beach Hotel. We both agreed that it was one of the nicer hotels we have ever stayed in (beach side located). From start to finish, they all provided a top service (even fixing the shower head within a hour of being asked!!), we have no doubt but we will be returning to visit again.
I have to mention the air traffic though. It did take us a few days to get used to the noise/close proximity of the planes but this is a small problem in what is a truly wonderful place.

My wife and i with our 13 year old daughter booked to stay here as a last minute trip for a 2 week stay.I had emailed Manos to see if he could accommodate us for this period as no accommodation was showing on the hotel booking sites i had visited. To my delight,he got back to my very quickly and said he could but we would have to move rooms after 2 days.Negotiated a good deal with him and he was very helpful and completely honest. We arrived at the airport and was picked up by George, his dad,and a nice character. The rooms were nice and always kept spotlessly clean. The restaurant of the hotel called the Seaside was really very good and always popular with a nice friendly atmosphere. The location of the hotel is at the quieter end of Kamari which in our opinion was a definite plus, and it was a nice walk along the seafront past all the other restaurants for an evening stroll with the occasional visit to The Groove Bar,and English bar which we also found on tripadvisor before we left.On our departure we were seen of with with a kiss and hug from the family witch was a lovely touch.I would definitely return to the Seaside and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone especially if you are looking for somewhere quite and relaxing with a chilled out felling for there holiday.

After spending 3 amazing days in Firostefani's Villa Ilias, which was amazing (see review) we wanted to spend time on the beach before heading back home. After the trip advisor reviews, we chose Sea Side without question. We arrived earlier than check in and were glad to be let in our room anyway. We were not greeted by Manos or George, but I believe it was the brother of Manos. I was a bit startled because we were brought into our room and left with no information.

We finally found Manos who gladly gave us the details of the hotel and gave us a map of Kamari.

The room was nice with a huge balcony overlooking the sea. We needed more pillows because they are pretty flimsy and blankets are not provided, just a top sheet. Towels are not provided for the beech and they are changed every other day. I believe sheets are changed once a week. One thing that was odd is that the second day when i went onto the balcony, cigarette ashes were everywhere ....and we do not smoke. We did not know where they came from or how they got there, but it was gross.

The pool is lovely and enjoyable after a hot day and the Sea Side restaurant is the best in Kamari. Our last night eating there we did have a slight problem when our order was forgotten and we had a flight to catch. We finally got our dinner an hour and 15 minutes after ordering and we had to rush to eat, which was disappointing. The meal was still delicious though!

Manos is extremely friendly and personable, willing to help with anything. George is a stand up man and makes you feel like you are at home.

The hotel is in a great location and near other restaurants and many other hotels that look just as lovely, making me not so sure if I would stay here again or try another hotel.

Many positive feedbacks have been left for this wonderful property, so here’s another one as we just returned from an amazing holiday in Santorini:
The task of finding “the right” accommodation on Santorini is truly a daunting project.
As we have never been to Santorini (or Greece for that matter), we wanted to split our holiday in two sections: the first half on the Beach and the second half up on the Caldera (Fira – see also my review on the “Scirocco Apartments).

While surfing the internet and reading fellow Trip Adviser Members’ comments we decided to stay in Kamari for the beach part of our holiday. The Hotel that stood out from the beginning was the Seaside Beach Hotel. From the very moment of picking up the telephone and making the reservation, the experience was outstanding. Manos, the man in charge of the Hotel operation couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. All my questions had been answered with ease to ensure a very comfortable and welcoming feeling.
Once we arrived at the Airport, we were greeted by George (the father) and quickly taken for the very short transport to the Hotel where Manos was waiting to welcome us. He quickly took us to our room (1st floor room with Pool view for 105 Euros incl Breakfast)) while explaining everything we needed to know.
The Hotel is built in two parts. The front is the “older part” and has the Sea View rooms while the “back” is the newer part built around the pool in typical Cycladic fashion.
I always think that the grass could be greener on the other side and was hoping that I had made the right decision in staying at the Seaside. This doubt was quickly erased as the location, comfort and service could hardly be beat. The traditional look and family feel combined with the most convenient location to the beach and promenade made this the PERFECT place to be. The Restaurant, located on the beach and run by the other brother, Nikos, was recently voted “Kamari’s number 1 Restaurant” by Trip Adviser members. It’s easy to see why and we have not eaten anywhere else during our 5 night stay. The service, the food, the price and its location can’t be beat!!

I could write for hours on how everything was perfect but I guess you would have to experience it for yourself. Thank you George, Manos and Nikos!!

I can highly recommend this hotel to anyone!!

We travelled to Santorini for our Wedding on the Caldera and chose to stay at Seaside for our 2 week stay.

From the moment Manos collected us from the airport on our arrival we experienced the best holiday we could have wished for. George, Manos, Nikolas and all the staff made us feel so welcome and couldn't do enough for us throughout the entire 2 weeks. From hiring a car, to arranging a meal in the restaurant for 35 family and friends, nothing was too much trouble.

The seaview room we chose prior to our arrival was exactly what we wanted. Our room was cleaned everyday with regular fresh towels & bedding. The pool area is idylic with the surrounding rooms & suites of the hotel built in a beautiful traditional greek style.
We viewed some of the vacant rooms at the rear of the hotel and found them to be perfect for families with gallery style double bedrooms & kitchen areas.

We have already wrote a review on the Seaside Restaurant but just want to mention again how amazing the food is here. On holiday we tend to eat at various places but on this occasion we ate here most lunchtime & evenings. The 35 friends and family that dined here the night before our wedding couldn't praise it enough!

We can't wait to return and plan to do so in May next year!

Stayed at the Sea Side for 6 nights, July 25-31. The hotel is at the quieter end of Kamari beach, near the airport, the busier end is towards the mountain which separates Kamari from Perissa, the other beach town in Santorini. If you want to stay on the beach in Stantorini, you choose between Kamari and Perissa. We are very happy we chose Kamari and this hotel in particular. The hotel has an ocean side restaurant that serves excellent Greek food. More on that later....

Kamari's beach road is for pedestrians only, hotels on the island side and tavernas on the beach side of the street. In the evening it's all about walking the street checking out the shops, tavernas and people watching. Very nice and very relaxing.

Our family of six, rented two rooms. An ocean view room for my parents, nice size balcony with sea views and a two room pool view unit containing a kitchenette for our family of four, kids age 13 and 10. Both were very functional and very nice, decorated in the traditional Cycladic style. Breakfast was included and I feasted every day on Greek yugort with honey. Yum!!!

The hotel is run by Manos and his family including his parents and they are always around to answer questions, give you advice, set up a boat trip tp the volcano/Fira/Oia, rent you a car, etc. The service is quite exceptional and you get what is promised to you. We communicated via email with Manos, I told him what we were looking for, and what he said is what was delivered!

The hotel has an infinity type pool in the rear of the hotel, not a large one, but it was perfect, as few guests choose the pool when Kamari beach awaits you across the street. it was perfect for a dip after spending the day at the beach and before retiring to your room for showers and dinner at the Sea Side Restaurant.

We ate at the restaurant for either lunch or dinner every night except the last one and that was because the kids wanted pizza and it gave us a chance to compare. We ate at the Boathouse just down the road, and although the food was good, it did not compare to the Sea Side. And this comes from a person who always want to try out new restaurants on every other vacation. There was simply no reason to try anything else. Hard to beat a dinner for two for 15 euros, when you get two lamb chops each, a greek salad, bread, and 1/2 liter of Santorini white wine. Compliments to the chef!

A few more comments.

The hotel is near the airport, but the flights are few and the kids had a blast seeing the planes flying low above us every couple of hours or so. No plane noise or bar noise at night, so no issue.

For swimming, we rented an umbrella and two beach chairs for 7 euros (for the whole day; you leave a towel and fold the chair down when you go to lunch) we'd walk about 50 feet on the water's edge towards the mountain and get into the sea there, which was much easier than trying to navigate the slippery rock in the water in front of the Sea Side. By the way, the beach gets pretty crowded the closer you get to the other end of the beach and the beach chairs get closer and closer, not so around here, a big plus.

The bus stop is located nearby, third right then corner at first left, quite manageable even for my elderly parents. We did not rent a car, the bus system works quite well to get to Fira or Oia for sunsets and shopping.

probably the best, food, accommodation, hospitality, welcome, scenery, the list goes on..you will ever find. Going back for the third year in a row - can't imagine going anywhere else. George, Nikos and Manos and all the staff are like our very own Greek family.
