We have just returned and we did enjoy our holiday very much. The staff at the hotel were so helpful and kind nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were spacious enough with a fridge and air con, a T V was provided but no English programs only news. There are many many restaurants and the food was very samey, but enjoyable if not a little pricey,at times. The Liver Birds offered hot and tasty food that was none greasy and delicious . I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. We have just returned from a lovely week in Kamari and staying in this hotel was perfect. It is modern and clean. The pool is great and the staff are welcoming and helpful and the epitome of good customer service. Our room was fresh and clean and nicely designed. The breakfast was lovely and served til 11am. The location is great, close to the beach and all the bars, restaurants and shops. All in all our week in Kamari was wonderful and made all the better by staying in this lovely hotel!

Stayed at acquaint vatos for five nights after two nights in sister hotel at other side of island. Stayed in master suite here and it was just perfect. Location wise it's just the right location near to the centre of kamari, hotel is trendy, quirky and spotlessly clean. The pool is also spotless. The service of the staff is exceptional, nothing is too much trouble, from recommending restaurants to answering any queries. Special hanks go to Joanna who works tirelessly on the pol bar everyday all day and is a credit to he hotel. She is so friendly and polite and clearly loves her job. Please book your next stay here at acquaint vatos and you will not be disappointed. We will def return,

Stayed for a week, booked a superior room (think difference was couple of square feet) The room had air con but no safe in room. Beds were large and showers/wet room was of a decent standard. Staff were friendly although gave you a key whatever room you asked for so security could have been a little tighter.

The breakfast was again enough to get you started for the day - scrambled eggs, bread, hot drinks, cereal, fruit yoghurt, one day they had bacon - others they had cheese pie and pizza. It was not huge but was all that was needed.

Snacks by the pool - reasonably priced and decent portion sizes - it is done on Greek time though so don't expect things too quickly.

Plenty of room around the pool with shade and loungers - as it was off the beaten track it was pretty quiet also.

Bar in hotel - again is on Greek time so not the quickest but once you get used to it was only a short wait.

Safes kept downstairs in general office so are available.

Staff - friendly and gave recommendations or made phone calls as needed. They did recommend a meal at http://www.abovebluesuites.com/#!fine-dining ........it was a beautiful view but far from fine dining and quite pricey.

Location - set back from the main strip of Kamari it's a reasonably quiet location but the resort as a whole is pretty quiet with mainly shops and restaurants to do 'in resort'. We enjoyed it but if looking for a busy hotel with music by the pool and in the heart of it then it wouldn't be for you. If however looking at a quiet place to relax and use as a base then this was a decent choice. We did see some other places up in the other resorts which looked lovely but this one was near the 'beach' so was the reason we went with it

Stayed at the acqua vatos in Kamari as part of our silver wedding anniversay celebrations. We instantly felt at home, as we arrived we were greeted with fresh juice and smiling faces. Our room was impeccably clean. Fresh towels where given daily and fresh bedding on most days. There was complimentary toiletries. The hairdryer was adequate.

The hotel is situated close to all amenities and is only a 5 minute walk to the beach. Restaurants are plentiful. The Sellada tavern is a particularly nice place to eat. It is a family run taverna....the food is excellent and reasonably priced.

Bus service is literally two minutes from the hotel and bus runs frequently.

Plenty of walking available which suited my husband and I. Ancient Thira is well worth a look at. It cost just 2 euros.

Had a quad bike for a day which enabled us to see parts of the island which we couldn't access by bus.

Overall it was an absolutely brilliant hotel to stay at and well worth a visit by anyone.

We have had a lovely stay at Acqua Vatos - thank you to all the staff.
The whole premises are spotlessly clean, bright and well maintained.
We paid extra for a superior room which are slightly larger and on the first floor. We didn't see in any of the standard rooms but they are on the ground floor which is below the entrance/reception area. We were in Room 110 which looked out onto beautiful shrubs with a side view to the mountain. It didn't get the full sun on the balcony during the day which was welcome on very hot days!
The breakfast had everything you could want, and far more than a "typical" Greek breakfast.
There is a tea/coffee/chocolate/hot water machine available free virtually all day/evening.
The pool is a good size, again spotlessly clean, and there is a pool bar open from around 11am through to evening serving drinks/snacks which are brought to your sunlounger.
The staff - George, Elena and Joanna are all very friendly and happy to help with any questions of where to go, how to get there etc.
There is a mini fridge in the room and you can eat your own food in your room/balcony so it is perfect if you want to have lunch before heading back into the sun, and there are plenty of mini supermarkets within yards of the hotel.
It is only yards to a good bus service which runs to Thira (well worth visiting), and from there you can get buses to other parts of the island. One tip - usually there is a large queue for the bus but it is not an orderly one, and it depends where the bus exactly stops as to which people get straight on at the front/middle doors. We have seen people who were first at the stop getting on towards the last, and sometimes on a busy day not everyone can get on. Our suggestion would be to arrive say 5 mins earlier and walk to the previous stop(s) . You simply walk, parallel to the beach, towards the cliff - there is one stop half way or go to the far end where most of the other people get on. That way you are assured of getting on and, more importantly, of getting a seat!
All in all, a lovely holiday in an excellent hotel.
If we were to return to Kamari we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again or recommend it to others.

Room Tip: Rooms (superior) in the same row as 110 are not in full sun during the day so offer a place on the b...

Before I book a trip, I always check what other travellers have written on Trip Advisor, so had no hesitation booking this hotel through Thomson Holidays because of the excellent reviews. When we arrived we were allocated room 111 (told it was a complimentary upgrade to superior room) which is one of the first rooms you reach when leaving Reception area. As pictures show, the rooms are nice so we didn't have a problem until the very first morning when staff started having a conversation sometime before 7 a.m. which is not what you want to wake up to when you're on holiday. I did ask other guests if they heard the staff talking and none of them did, so it's probably only rooms 111 and 112 that have the problem. I mentioned it to Reception and it did get better, but not stopped.
Also, being marble floors we could hear everyone walking up and down stairs. I shan't bore you with the rest of the story, but hope the following tips will help you.

Beds have a concrete base and headrest, but with comfortable mattresses and pillows. This is good as it stops noise from movement of furniture (bear in mind this is a wedding/honeymoon destination island so you'll understand what I mean).

The hotel provide free sunbed towels for use around the hotel pool only (not beach) and they have a policy of not reserving sunbeds so if you leave a towel and go off, they do remove them. That's an excellent system given that only half of the pool gets the sun for most of the day, while the other half remains mainly in the shade.

Complimentary tea and coffee available all day from the machine in the breakfast room and it's quite nice and drinkable. They also provide complimentary kettle in the room with tea/coffee if you ask. Breakfast tended to be similar each morning but as I love Greek yoghurt, was happy to have this with chopped pieces of fresh fruit and honey each day - yum, yum.

Our room had complimentary soap and shampoo also. The hairdryer worked well too as did the complimentary fridge.

Safety deposit boxes are free and situated in a room behind Reception. You are given a key and have to ask Reception for the master key each time you want to use it.

Located in the centre of Kamari, there are signs at the gate warning you to look left and right before stepping out as there is no pavement for a few yards, so you walk straight out into traffic.

The staff are very helpful and friendly.

The rest of my review is about Kamari, the airport and travel around the island.
Kamari is only 10 minutes transfer time from the airport so might not be worth booking expensive private transfer/taxi. In fact we went for a stroll one day and looked at the runway so you can imagine how close the 'planes fly over resort - but there aren't that many. There is only one carousel at the airport, so it's small and upon returning, you may have to queue outside, then once you've checked in you then have to take your bags to the scanning machine and then go outside to one of the two cafes up the slope and wait until you see your 'plane land before the Thomson Rep tells you to go back into the airport to go through passport control. The cafe does expect you to buy something to eat or drink and not cheap.

There are many restaurants along Kamari seafront and side streets - each one has a guy outside trying very hard to encourage you in. Most are nice and friendly but a couple of others are 'in your face'. Although the majority advertise similar menus we found that what we were served could be very different between each taverna. Price of a large draught Mythos varies and we saw signs ranging from 2.80 up to 4 Euro's but generally we paid between 3 and 3.50. Prices of meals in resort seemed to be less expensive than other parts of the island and our evening meals ranged from 8 Euro's each upwards.

Travel around the island is easy by local bus (local buses are nice air conditioned coaches with conductors who you pay). You get the bus (stop very close to hotel) and a flat rate of 1.60 Euro's each gets you to Thira which is about 30 mins trip away. You arrive at Thira bus station (which is small and holds around 6 coaches in total) and then transfer onto another to your chosen destination and again pay another 1.60 Euro's - it's a great system and buses run every 30 mins from Kamari in the summer months and is so much cheaper than hiring a car. The hotel happy to print off timetable for you.

There is much said about the sunset on the other side of the island, but the moonrise over the sea at Kamari is equally as pretty.

Hope this review helps.

Room Tip: I have given sleep quality and Average mark, purely because of the noise from Reception as we found...
