My partner and I booked a package holiday for a fortnight through Thomson and chose the Santellini, n part, because of the recommendations by other travellers on this website. We weren't disappointed. The Santellini is situated on one of the main access roads into the town and is tucked away discreetly between tendy clothes and jewellery shops. A car hire place is just two door up. Turn right out of the hotel entrance and you are less than a minute from the beach and the promenade of Kamari where you'll find dozens of tavernas, restaurants and shops. Turn left and there's more shops and tavernas, and things like a bank, pharmacy and books store seconds away.

The hotel is kept to spotlessly clean I was convinced it had just opened. The majority of rooms over look the medium sized pool and sun lounge area and are in a separate part of the hotel to reception and the small seating area where breakfast is served each morning. There is also a small bar, first floor bar and veranda which goes largely unused it seems.

The rooms are simply and cleanly decorated. They were cleaned everyday, with fresh sheets and towels. Our room had a fridge and air con was free. Do do have to pay a little bit to use the room safe though. Our bathroom had a sink, loo and shower, which always had hot water and high water pressure. There is a tv in the room too, although the channel choice is limited. We stuck to BBC World News for a fortnight.

Each room, as far as I could see, had balcony. None of the hotel is overlooked by other buildings.

Breakfast is simple: cereal, bread, condiments, coffee and tea, fruit, boiled eggs, cheese and tomatos, yoghurt and honey and served between 8 and 10am.

The staff were one of the plus points. The owner/manager is a wonderfully friendly lady who is very attentive and obviously cares a great deal about her guests and keeping the hotel clean! She helped recommend places to visit and gaves tips on the language alongside making sure we had a great stay.

At night, its location just off the promenade meant it was very quiet.

The simplest conclusion I can make is: we would love to stay at the Santellini again. It and its location is perfect for Kamari and for exploring the island.

Stayed in the Santellini with my friend at the beginning of May. Wonderful pretty hotel in a great position. The staff made us welcome and we were lucky to have a room with both shower and bath! The pool area was lovely and clean and the greek yogurt at breakfast was just the best. Met up with a lovely family who's daughter got married while we were there which enhanced our holiday.Go on the local bus to watch the sunset its spectacular.

I feel I must let you people out there know of a hotel that we have just returned from, the Santellini in Kamari may only be regarded as a three star but believe me we have stayed in higher ranked hotels that do not compare. Although there is no entertainment (which probably keeps the star rating down) you will not need it, there are plenty of places to eat nearby on the 'promenade'. There are 26 rooms spread around a nice pool, British,Finnish and Austrians make up the numbers.
The place is kept immaculate by its friendly owners and staff, a nice contnental breakfast is available.
We will return, excellent for romantic couples young and old!

Just spent a fantastic 2 week honeymoon here. Absolutely spotless everywhere, clean towels every 2 days, beds changed every 3. The owners and staff were really freindly. Very quiet and peaceful, it was more like a private villa than a hotel. Great breakfast too!
