“Fantastic Hotel!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 30, 2011

We stayed at the Santellini for our honeymoon and we couldn't have stayed at a better hotel. The staff were so welcoming and friendly and they left us a bottled of wine in our room on arrival accompanied with a lovely message. The room was really clean and was cleaned every other day and were given fresh towels and bedding also. The pool and surrounding area was also spotless, you can tell the staff are proud of this hotel and take pride in it.

We would definately reccommend this hotel and we will be back soon.

The hotel was very clean and quaint. There were always plenty of sunbeds available and was just off the beach, so very close to the shops etc. It was great value for money. There was a small bar near the pool, which was maned by the hotel owner and a continental breakfast. Some of our friends stayed at other hotels in the town, which were no where near the standard of the Santellini.

Our room was upgraded to a bit better than what we had booked, so that was the first, positive signal. The maisonette was roomy for two persons. It was kept very clean all the time. AC worked whenever we needed it. Staff was friendly, breakfast sufficient and pool area cozy.

Only negative thing that comes to our mind was hard and uncomfortable bed.

We had a very nice stay at the Santellini hotel. Overall it was a great value for money.

Room Tip: The ones on the pool side are nicer

No need to go overboard about this place, the rooms are echoey concrete boxes and our bathroom had a shower tray protected only by a curtain, stick out your elbows and you soak the whole room, couldn't wait to get home for a decent shower.
Cleanliness was as described and linen changed frequently. Continental breakfast was ample but choice limited and monotonous. Only one 2 slice toaster for the whole breakfast room. Pool occupies all the non-accomodation floor plan of this hotel and sunbeds are too few in number and its not heated, other than by the sun.
Away from Fira and Oia, Santorini is a typical scruffy, poor Mediterranean island. Coffee at 3.5 to 4.5 euros a cup a bit overboard, plenty of restaurants for sure but food quality mostly poor. We won't be back.

Agree with the last review. Our rooms on middle floor. We had small shower, Friends had a room with bath. Hotel has internet. Car rental and money exchange next door. Laundry nearby. 12 euros for 6kilos. Car rental 20 euros a day. suggest 3days hire. Water taxi to Perrisa with best beach 4 euros.Thompson rep Nikki a bubbly scouser, always on hand with good info.Keep away from No Name restaurant. Food dreadful. Bad comments from loads of people.Ancient Thira a must to visit. Closed Monday.Open 8-2.30. 10 euros by minibus. Can,t fault the hotel other than small number of sun beds You wont be dissapointed. Plenty of places to eat and drink. Nothing much to do on the island for children. We found food and drink expensive. Suggest, The Family, Just 4. The Liverbirds do an English breakfast until 2pm.

Room Tip: Most rooms have pool view. Some overlook street.

My wife and i travelled here for the first week in the season and to celebrate my birthday. We booked through Thomson and read the previous reviews on trip advisor and can see why on our arrival why so many people have given such great reviews.
On our arrival we were met by Giannis (who does look like David Ginola) with a warm and friendly greeting. The hotel was spotlessly clean. We were shown to our room which was on the 3rd floor by Leah who wa also very lovely. We were in room 302 and when we entered i was initially shocked to think that we didn't have a bed other than a sofa bed. But this room was something else we had a mezene room with a double bed overlooking the ground floor. Fantastic what a start to celebrating your 50th birthday.
As we entered the room the bathroom was on the left which had a shower over a smallish bath. Soap and gels were provided if yu didn't bring your own. The room opened up with a double sofa bed and table and chairs and dressing table. There was a bench and wardrobe space with a safe therein if needed. Two doors at the far end of the room led to a nice sized balcony which had table and chairs plus a small washing line rail which was a nice touch. This was also a nice sun trap for the early morning sunshine. The stairs led us to the mezene room which has 2 bedside tables and a chest of drawers. Everything was fresh and clean. Due to it being early season as well the air conditioning was switched off but it was available.
The hotel has a decent sized swimming pool which was cold upon entry but soon warmed up as you swam a few lengths. The areas around the hotel were nicely kept and there was plenty of sunbeds for all.
Breakfast in the morning consisted of cereals, toast, cold meats, boiled eggs, greek yoghurt, cake, pastries coffee tea fruit juice etc etc. Leah was always on hand to top things up if it ran short and Giannis would always pop by to greet and converse with his guests.
The hotel is situated about 100 yards from the beach and amongst a street lined with shops and tavernas. The main strip is also 100 yards away with an abundance of tavernas and bars in either direction. The bus station is about 30 yards away and there is a cash machine in the square which is about 70 yards walk. In all this hotel is exellent for its position, friendliness and cleanliness. Thankyou Giannis Martha Leah and all the other staff who keep this hotel so clean and welcoming.
Whilst we were there the hotel was awarded a Gold rating from Thomson and we can see why. Well done.

Very quiet hotel.
Cleanliness seems to be their first priority, as you see staff going around all the time.
Beautiful pool area, nice breakfast.
They have a really nice book collection you can borrow (mainly english).
Really close to the bus station!

Really wonderful stay!
