We have been to a number of islands and this was one of the best beaches. A very long beach with many choices of sunbeds, as well as shops, restaurants, bars and ice cream parlours. You are really spoilt for choice. It is a quiet beach, no loud music which is a relief after the noisy beaches of Myconos. And unlike many othe beaches, not as crowded. Most of the restaurnts serve good food during the day and at night. We stayed in Kamari and travelled to some of the other beaches on the island but always came back to this one.

This is by far the longest strip of beach that we came across on our Greek islands trip. The black "sand" looks really unusual. It's actually more like fine gravel than sand though. There's also plenty of shops, bars and restaurants along the beach front. Well worth a visit.

It wasn't too difficult to find, we just aimed left from Fira, going towards the mountain. We eventually ended up on a road that had tourist shops and restaurants on both sides, that's how you know you're close. The beach is rocky, most of it is smooth pebbles. But it was a fun beach, it has great scenery and its unique. There are restaurants within walking distance, we got some drinks on our way in. It isn't too crowded, but there were less people at the beach in Perissa

I never sunbathed here, but went out in Kamari both nights. it was fun but very low key. I had always heard Greek nightlife was kinda crazy but seems the beachgoers turn in very early. I was there first week of July, too. Nice little restaurants and bars on the boardwalk though. I heard it's bustling during the daytime though, from a friend staying at Kamari.
