“More atmosphere than Perissa”
Reviewed October 1, 2012

I like Kamari beach over Perissa as it has more atmosphere at night. There is live music, the restaurants and cafes are buzzing and everything is close. Try the yiros shop near the Sky Lounge it is two euros, very tasty and good service. I enjoyed going to The Love Boat as they have karaoke most nights and the atmosphere is great. The service is also good with the owners shouting you a round if you're there most nights. Sky Lounge is also beautiful for cocktails it is one storey up with entertainment some nights. The beach has rocks so you need to wear shoes but most beaches in Santorini are like that unfortunately. There's so much there like laundromats, chemists, mini marts, supermarkets, you can find everything you want. If I had to choose a beach it would be Kamari over any other beach purely for the atmosphere and night life. Perissa is a nice beach during the day but the beach bars have young kids and the music is really loud and that doesn't appeal to me. Kamari is also closer to Fira.

“Gravely beach”
Reviewed October 1, 2012

Not your usual fine powdery sandy beaches.. Kamari has coarse gravely black sand... but beautiful nonetheless. Very few shops and restaurants here...

Long, straw lined parasols, warm salty sea to swim in all day if wanted to .Be aware if you wanted to sit on the chairs and parasols its 5 euros a day...we just sat on towels as for 2 weeks a lot of money would soon add up

“Beautiful Water - watch out for the rocks”
Reviewed September 30, 2012

We really enjoyed Kamari, the water is clean and clear, the shops are fun to troll through and the banana lounge bar service is excellent!!! Just remember to bring shoes that can be worn in the water due to the rocks
