we was on Santorini mid June and we walked the road way to the top. It takes about 45 mins. If you talk it slowly and take water with you it it a nice walk with great views. It is possible to get a mini bus up to the top. When at the end of the road there is also more steps and steep upward walk to get to the site. It cost 2 euros to go around the site which covers a large area. All ruins and very old but so interesting.. There are information boards at important locations giving information about the site. It depends where on the site work it being carried out asto where visitors can go. We visit this site each time we are on Santorini for the last 4 years we have seen this site improve and get better. It is worth a visit you can spend anything from 45 mins or much longer at the top.Take a camere and a good head for heights.

Ruins are about 1000ft up from Kamari. It's about a 45 minute hike, or you can take a bus or donkey. Things weren't well marked at the site, and the map was a little hard to follow. The view of Kamari, Perissa and the surrounding area is spectacular.

Its about a 10 min drive from Kamari (40 min walk) and when you get there its another 15 min walk before getting to the main town area. The views are great (but so are o many others) and he ruins are interesting BUT having visited Delios island and the Acropolis a few days earlier this was a little disappointing as we expected to see actual buildings and temples but all there is are ruins! But if you have nothing better to do make the trip.

It's a steep walk up from Kamari, but easy to follow, and a smooth underfoot, so no need for walking boots. We went early, which was good as we avoided the traffic, and the heat. Worth the 2 Euro entrance fee for the views alone.
