Stayed here for 5 nights in July. Very welcoming staff, great info about local area and how to get around. Fab breakfast with plenty of options. Great location close to the beach with lots of beach bars and restaurants. Lovely pool with plenty of sun loungers, for which they would provide towels. Would highly recommend!

Hotel Matina is a lovely hotel. From the moment we arrived the staff were friendly and helpful and everything was catered for. The rooms are spotlessly clean and well equipped - having a fridge is really excellent in the hot weather. The pool area is really well equipped and so relaxing with a lovely bar and friendly staff. The hotel has a real family feel which makes it feel really personal, we stayed as two friends and it was an excellent environment. This hotel seems to suit all types of holidaymakers - a real achievement. I would strongly recommend this hotel.

Hotel Matina is a really nice hotel and I would recommend it to all different types of traveler - couples, solos, families, friends. The location is ideal as it's just a short walk from the beach and main strip, ensuring that it is accessible but also quiet. The rooms are nicely decorated and finished. We found the beds comfortable and the bathroom was also a good size with decent shower. The staff were lovely, including the two resident dogs that act as sleepy guard dogs in the reception area, and very helpful. They advised us on boat trips and also made other helpful recommendations.
The breakfast was a little disappointing. There was plenty of choice of breads although sometimes these were a little dry/stale. Cereals were also on offer plus yoghurt and dried fruit. Hard boiled eggs were available but they were cold, and occasionally there was a hot option (e.g. fried eggs, mini frankfurters) but these were just dished onto a plate and left on the buffet table getting cold. A bottle of chilled water was on the buffet table for the last couple of mornings but hadn't been present beforehand and there was no option for tea/hot water. If staying here again, I would save myself the 8Euro per person and head to the local supermarket/bakery instead.
Another slight let down was the lack of a waste bin the bedroom. We like to enjoy drinks on our terrace/balcony and didn't want to fill our bathroom bin or leave trash in the room. Would probably help the maid service too - they were great!
Overall a very pleasant stay and would consider staying here again if in Kamari.

Room Tip: Rooms on the same side as the reception likely to be quieter than apartments on the roadside.

My mother and I stayed at the Hotel Matina for a week this summer, we had an absolutely WONDERFUL time. From the moment we arrived at the airport in Santorini and were picked up directly by Mr. Sigala (Vengelis), we didn't have a single bad moment. The owners Mrs.(Matina) and Mr. (Vengelis) Sigala and staff at the Hotel Matina are so welcoming and excel at creating a comfortable, extremely clean and elegant atmosphere. The hotel has an ideal location -- a short two minute walk from Kamari beach and right next to the local bus stop. It was my birthday when we arrived and the hotel had a surprise birthday celebration that evening for me complete with a home made cake from Mrs. Matina herself and wine from local Santorini winery "Santos Wines"! Anyone who wants a great vacation should come to the Hotel Matina. We will definitely stay here again when we come to Santorini next time. Also worth mentioning are the breakfast buffet serving international dishes as well as traditional greek pastries(homemade from Mrs. Matina herself and fresh picked grapes from the island each morning by Mr. Sigala) as well as the delicious food offered by the pool bar each day (also homemade--try the Santorini Salad!).A very special thanks as well to Korina and Vasso who were incredibly helpful for everything from welcoming us at the front desk to helping with all our questions on general information for excursions etc... and the rest of the staff.

An amazing holiday at Hotel Matina.
Facilities, location, staff were all fantastic. A beautiful place to stay in Santorini, I would highly recommend!

The hotel was close to local restaurants, bars and traditional Greek taverna's and a close walk to the beach.

If you are looking for a relaxing holiday, on a beautiful island with excellent food this is the place to visit and and hotel Matina is the perfect place to stay!

I stayed here with my partner for 3 nights in June and wished it had been longer. The staff were very friendly and helpful and picked us up from the airport and took us to our next hotel (in Fira). They also gave us advice on where to eat (Alexander restaurant and Sellada) and about visitng ancient Thera. The beach is only a few minutes walk away and there are lots of nice places to eat and drink. The hotel's pool was a lovely place to relax and the bar staff were nice. It would be good if you could bring your own water to the pool side though as the drinks were quite expensive here. The room was nice and comfortable with good a/c (although it did chuck out some dust when it started up) but the shower was tiny and the shower curtain clings to you so a cubicle would be better. Overall a very good stay and would recommend to people visiitng the area- I would probably pay a bit more for a more luxurious room next time. We also loved the dogs- very calm and friendly!

There were 23 people from our Wedding party staying at the Hotel Matina. We couldn't have chosen a better place. The owners and staff were so friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean with regular clean towels and sheets. The beds were comfortable. Breakfast had lots of choices to suit everybody. The pool was really lovely with nice sunbeds. The bar was great service and good prices for a hotel. They had a TV with the Wimbledon Final with BBC coverage and a big screen outside for the World Cup. The hotel transfers were very efficient. They made the Wedding day very special and the other guests were lovely too. It is a short walk to a huge choice of restaurants and the beach. We hired Quad Bikes to see the Island but there are cars and buses too. A special mention to Corinna on reception who knew all our names and was so kind. None of us wanted to go home especially the happy Newlyweds.

Room Tip: We all had nice rooms.
