“Lovely traditional taverna”
Reviewed September 1, 2013 via mobile

We had walked past here a couple of times and finally decided to go in for dinner.
It is a small taverna with one very hard working waitress covering all the tables. Obviously very popular as at one point people were queuing for tables and people sat near us were clearly repeat customers.
Had saganaki cheese and spinach pie for starters both of which were excellent, and my husband and I both chose the beef in mythos for our main which was meltingly tender and delicious! Carafe of house red was also very good.
Did not have dessert but were given a small bowl of Greek yoghurt and figs when we got the bill which was perfect.
Can't recommend this place enough and a litre of wine and two courses for two people was €34.50! Fantastic!
Don't waste your money on the seafront and venture a couple of minutes inland and you will find all the best restaurants

“Excellent stuffed squid!”
Reviewed June 21, 2013

Loved this little family run place (the nearest to where we stayed during our holiday). Great food, lovely waitress. My husband had the Stuffed squid as his main course and I chose Beef Stifado - both excellent. We had a small carafe of local wine. As someone else mentioned the main course arrived the minute we finished the starters. It didnt put us off though and we would return there at the drop of a hat. Maybe next time I would ask for a 10 mins gap between courses.

“A little gem in Kamari just out of the way”
Reviewed June 20, 2013

We were recommended to this taverna by a couple staying in our hotel. We were told that the food was good & the waitress was so friendly yet unassuming. It was so good that we went three times during our 2 week break. The food was a mix of classic Greek dishes , traditional Greek plates & a special menu of more obscure dishes. The meals are not gut busting plates of rice potato vegetables & fava with meat piled high. However neither are they fancy takes on classic dishes which seem to be coming into vogue One dish worth trying is the beef cooked in Metaxa & Mythos beer - served with rice in a simple manner it was really good. Rabbit stifado was magnificent as was the more "normal" veal stifado. The waitress as mentioned above was polite, welcoming & so hospitable. At the end of each meal we were served spoon sweets & yoghurt. The local wine served in blue terracotta jugs was perfectly acceptable and nowhere near the prices of bottled wines elsewhere. If you are in Kamari, seek out Danas Taverna - you won't be disappointed

“Best in town”
Reviewed June 14, 2013

After spending 2 weeks in kamari we found that this restaurant had the best traditional food and the mixed meat plate on a stick was the best meal I have ever had, really friendly service and enjoyable evening. Would highly recommend. Highlight restaurant of our holiday, house red wine in traditional jugs really good. And good value, ate here a few times after first visit. Good tomato balls!

“A good lunch restaurant in Kamari”
Reviewed May 21, 2013

My wife and I had a late lunch here and got what we were looking for: A choice of good, light Greek meals in a quiet atmosphere just by the entrance to the Ancient Thera. The prices were reasonable for the food as well as for the drinks. The total price for the meal, main courses and sweets including half a litre of Retsina, was 28 Euro.
