Me and my partner have just returned from a fantastic 2 week Holiday/Wedding in the hotel 28 Boutique, Santorini. I have to say what an fantastic stay we had here due to the amazing staff who welcomed us as if we had been there before. Agiro had the most infectiuos laugh to which i found cheered me up for the day. Dimetra was wonderful behind the pool bar and we had some really good laughs which cant be printed :), Joanna was a charming soul who always waved us off before a night out and Alex who welcomed us from our journeys out.The rooms where white and cool, which is a bonus due to how hot it is, but the aircom worked a treat when needed. The hotel is a 5-10 min walk to the start of the restaurants, bars and shops which are wonderful. Honestly the best run hotel that i have ever been to and will definately be returning. If you are thinking of booking a holiday in Santorini, i would say do it straight away, 28 Boutique is special and you would definately want to return. Thank you to all the staff, you where amazing xxxxx

Just returned from spending a week at this wonderful relaxing friendly gem of a hotel. i wont bang on about it as from other reviews you will get all the info you need about it , ie location etc.what i will say is the staff that work in this hotel are second to none, they are the most friendly staff i have ever come across whilst on holiday.Argiro is the tonic you need whilst you have your breakfast, cheerful and happy with a laugh you will never forget and Dimitra who worked at the bar pool area was so attentive and friendly nothing was too much trouble and even though she finished work at 6pm she never left then and was more than happy to serve and chat away until all the guest had gone in or drank up. Even whilst out and about in the evenings if you bumped into them, usually together as they are best friends, they welcomed you with open arms and hugs. These two young ladies are an asset to this hotel and there likeability shines at departure time ,hugs all round from and too everyone. The thomson rep on the bus said this is the norm from this hotel.
Overall a great holiday cant fault it.

Room Tip: pool view rooms are best else you will be looking over to the mountains.

We arrived at 28 for the second time on 5th June this year having stayed here two years ago and promised ourselves we'd return to get married. We soon remembered why we made this decision.

The 28 staff were so welcoming and genuinely interested in our wedding even though ut was elsewhere on the island. Argiro even stayed until 6pm to see my bride leave even though she finished her shift at 3pm. She was joined by the euqually attentive Dimitri and Jo.

It is precisely this personal touch and genuine warmth that is the heartbeat of this hotel. You can see the beautiful pictures of the pool scene etc on line and in books but it's only when you get out here on holiday that you realise why many people return year after year.

My previous review talks about the rooms and decor etc. Apart from a few different soft furnishings it's still pretty much the same, very clean and minimalist taste so I'll keep it short. The food on offer at breakfast is pretty much the same every day but there is always a choice of fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, eggs, bread and cold meats. The food on the lunch menu is fantastic and there is plenty of choice.

All I can say is that we will return again soon for what I know for sure will be a perfectly relaxing holiday in a very friendly and charming environment. Everyone we met out there on both our visits felt the same which is why it always gets such glowing reviews.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the pool and ocean have double beds where as rooms facing the rear look out to the village Pyrgos on top of the hill and have kitchenettes but only twin beds.

I returned this week from a 2 week stay at the 28 and have to say that I totally agree with all the positive reviews about this hotel. From the minute we got off the coach to the minute we got back on 2 weeks later the staff couldn't do enough for us. They are so friendly and helpful and soon got to know your names which made it even more homely. I was a little apprehensive about going to this hotel with it being small as I am used to going to larger ones, but I don't know why I worried so much, it was beautiful and you didn't feel that it was that small. We had a second floor room which overlooked the pool and was also lucky to have a triple room and also with it being an end room we got the best of both worlds as we not only overlooked the pool but could see the sea in the distance and also the mountains from the side view, all which were beautiful. If I was to make one grumble it would be that the room needed some TLC, I think that this isn't possibly one of the recently refurbished rooms and it could do with a little freshening up, but that is just a small observation apart from that the room was lovely and because of it being a triple room we had a bathroom with shower, toilet and wash basin unlike a double room which has the washbasin in the bedroom area, although one bin in the room which is based in the bathroom is not ideal. The joy of having a free safe in the room and also the use of a decent size fridge that holds litre bottles and had an ice box was a big bonus. The pool area is very nice and clean and the sunbeds are very luxurious although there wasn't enough shade for me as it was very hot and there were not any umbrellas to go under. There was one shaded area but because the sunbeds are doubles and the hotel was full you didn't feel as if you as a couple could take up two separate beds and leave someone without. i feel that they need to invest in some sort of umbrella or shade for the beds for those who do like to go under in the heat of the day and have the option of using them. As people have previously said in their reviews the food at the bar is quite reasonable and no more expensive than some of the bars in the main strip. If I really had to pick a small fault with the hotel it would personally be the breakfasts. It was continental which is fine if you enjoy that and myself I love fruit, yoghurts etc., but I have to say that after 2 weeks of eating the same thing even I got fed up and bored with it. The only fresh fruit they provided was 2 types of melon so if you don't like melon then you were stuck. I do feel that they could have offered some sort of cooked breakfast option for those wanting it and also varied the choice of fruit. That would be my only grumble because everything else was fine. The hotel also has a book lending area and has quite a variety of books to choose from. One warning is that the door handles are very difficult at times to turn but I found if when you unlock the door with your key, keep turning it and it will open the door for you. The doors do tend to bang if you let go of them and no matter how hard you try to be quiet when closing them and locking them you cannot do this. We had some noise from other guests late at night, but this was a wedding party and cannot say it was for the whole 2 weeks as it wasn't but because the corridors echo it did make the noise twice as loud, but guess you have to expect so much noise when on holiday. We were offered to change room when we told Argyro but as we were 3 quarters of our way through the holiday we didn't want the upheaval of having to pack up and move so decided to stay where we were. The hotel is situated away from the main sea front but is only a short 10 minute walk down the lane opposite the hotel and this brings you out on to the main area where the shops and bars are. It is a lovely walk and the sister hotel is about 20 minute walk up this strip. You can use the sister hotel and the beach area of the hotel for free and if you eat in their bar area and show your key you get 10% discount. If you turn right out of the hotel and walk along the road there are several roads on the left that you can walk down that take you to the beach. Also if you continue to walk to the end of this road you come to a football pitch, turn left here and walk down the road where there are more bars and shops but also the main bus stop which takes you to many places including Fira, the capital. I would recommend that you see as much of the island as possible because it is so beautiful, we went on the Thomson Simply Santorini tour and it was well worth the money. We used the public transport for other areas and I have to say the public buses were the plushest I have travelled on abroad, public transport is a mercedes coach!!. There are lots of good bars and restaurants to choose from all serving good, reasonably priced meals. The only downside is that you do get pestered quite a bit with them trying to get you in to eat but if you just say a firm no thank you they are normally o.k. with you and if they get to recognise you they tend to leave you alone. I would recommend a trip to Oia, this is a lovely little place with lovely architecture and of course the beautiful sunset, however it is very hilly, lots of steps and cobbles and can get very hot in the day time. I would truly recommend Santorini, particularly Kamari and of course Hotel 28 to anyone, it is a hidden little gem that you need to find and explore and I can guarantee that after your stay there it will leave you wanting to go back soon, we will be returning to this beautiful island in the near future.

Room Tip: I would recommend a 3rd or 2nd floor room for the views. Ground floors are nice but at pool level. I would recommend that you perhaps request this before going as when you arrive they are normally allocated on arrival without choice.

Only stayed one night, but was blown away! I arrived three hours before check in time, but because my room was vacant the staff allowed me to move up to my room, so i got to spend the day lounging by the excellent pool! The pool has the comfiest beds and great snacks and drinks at the pool bar.
The staff were phenomenal- so kind. There was a sense of familiarity as they called me by my first name on my arrival, and one lady even wrote me recommendations for restaurants i should try for dinner (go to the hotel's sister villas on the foreshore- delicious and a 20% discount)!!
It's a few minutes from the beach, meaning it is easy to go to the shops etc, but the hotel itself is in a relatively secluded area, in comparison to those on the foreshore full or tourist traps.
My room was wonderful, spacious, with a kitchenette and lovely ensuite.
I can't wait to come back!
