I have been coming to Kamari for many years and always visit this wonderful typical Greek taverna. It is tucked away at the top of the high street, so a little away from all the other tavernas. It is still a busy little taverna with a good home cooked menu. However many of the dishes ie Papoutsakia have been axed from the menu. Whatever you choose will be good, the best fava we have had served in the traditional way...hot, drizzled with olive oil and topped with chopped onion. Our meals were excellent but we were sad to see that retsina was also ‘off’ the menu!
The sad thing about this taverna, is the fact it has cut right back on tables and now about half the size it was. It seems to be concentrating more on juices , coffees and small cakes. Apparently is now so just the family are involved. To me it shows the sad state of the Greek economy.
P.S. not sure about the squawking bird.
