On a street packed with restaurants & waiters hounding you it's easy to loose faith in honest hospitality... Nichteri is a huge exception to this rule. The staff were all outstanding, taking time to help us make choices, very knowledgable about the menu, wine & details. The food was perfect... Not your typical beach road fare.. It was sophisticated, simple & bursting with flavor. From the house made tomato & herb bread through to the white eggplant mouse on the calamari & the divine lemon marmalade on the saganaki... Everything was spot on. It's simply the best! Enjoy!!

As part of a day tour with Santorini Wine Adventure entitled Wine and Food Lovers, I had the opportunity to take a cooking class at this restaurant. We helped the chef/owner Vassilis Zacharakis prep the food and then watched as he worked his magic. Our menu consisted of Fried Tomato Balls, Santorini Salad, Pork Medallions with Vinsanto and Calamari with Quinoa.
For dessert we were treated to a Creme Brulee and Panna Cotta. Without a doubt, the meal I had here was the very best in my five-week journey through Greece, Turkey and Jordan. Additionally, the ambience of the restaurant was so very special. It was cozy, well appointed but not pretentious. Were I to return to the island, this would be one of my first stops. Well done!

If you don't eat here during your visit to Santorini, you are missing out!! Chef Vassilis showed us how a few fresh and great quality ingredients can make something simple yet so delicious. At the end of our Santorini Wine and Food Lover tour, he showed us how to make tomato fritters, Santorini salad, and veal with vinsanto sauce. The entire experience was unforgettable! After the cooking class we sat at our table by the beach and enjoyed grilled calamari with smoked white eggplant puree and quinoa salad. Our meal was topped off with panna cotta with prickly pear sauce and of course some local vinsanto. Not only the best meal we had in Santorini, but the best meal we have had in a long time.

There are so many places in Kamari serving good, cheap, local food that we hesitated before going to Nichteri. However, it was worth it. Situated right on the sea front it is in an ideal location and you expect to pay a premium for that alone. The service was professional and the waiters were knowledgeable about the food being served and the wines they stocked. They gave advice in a friendly and informative way that showed they cared and wanted diners to enjoy their visit. We both enjoyed our meals which were well presented and tasted delicious. Nichteri has a good reputation with the hotel staff in Kamari who recommend it to guests and, unlike other restaurants on the sea front, they do not need to persuade people to walk in. It is a little more expensive than most restuarants but it is well worth the treat.

My wife and I visited Nichteri as the tail end of a "wine and cooking" tour, put on by SaFoWi (also highly recommended). So, we not only dined at Nichteri, we actually got to watch the chef preparing food in the kitchen.

There are amazing culinary experiences to be had on Santorini, and we thought that Nichteri was the apogee. The tomato fritters, the Santorini salad, the pork with Vinsanto sauce, all to die for. And sitting outside on the beach was an unforgettable experience.
