Fuertesol Bungalows
Reviewed September 2, 2013

We stayed here for 2 weeks from 10th August 2013. The Ritz it isn't, but then again we didn't pay Ritz prices. We had 2 bungalows side by side which worked well for us. The bungalows are dated as others have said, however they are clean. We didn't bother hiring a tv, after all we were on holiday, what do you need a tv for? The pool bar is good value & the snacks they serve are generally very good. The pool was large & gets cleaned every morning. It's true as some other reviewers have said that there is a bun fight to get towels on sun beds each morning, the Spanish tourists were the worst for this. Also their children were undisciplined. We had 2 balls stolen from our balcony & in the pool they will commandeer your lilo if you dare to leave it loose for a moment. On the whole we liked the place, it's quiet & clean & a short walk into the town centre. We certainly preferred it to the places around that had 'entertainment'.

Room Tip: Do not leave any of your possessions on the balcony as they'll be stolen. We were in bungalows 3...

Just returned from a 7 day stay at these apartments and In our opinion this place is well past it's best. We arrived at 8.00pm and checked in with all the welcome of a fart in a spacesuit.
The bungalows are very basic and tired but functional, albeit we had windows that didn't lock (soon remedied by the receptionist, with a "bolt" you insert to keep them secure) and two sockets hanging out of the wall (fixed the next day)!!! We did ask to be moved but informed they were fully booked, odd that, as the bungalow next door had no one in for a further two days. We just resigned ourselves to the view of the waste ground across the road and admiring the wall that was being constructed.
Our room was quite close to the pool which was nice, but having a shower or going to the toilet was interesting, if the window was open you are face to face with somebody at the pool about 6ft away - smile!!
The bungalows are directly under the flight path, which didn't concern us, but note the first plane of the day comes in about 7.00am and if you are not prepared or still asleep will cause you to jump out of bed thinking you are sat on the runway. On a positive note that's a good time to get up and put your towels out, we did think of putting them out the night before as most are gone well before this time. Don't expect to tip up after breakfast and find many beds not "reserved", but again in honesty you could just use the towels some kind people have laid out as most won't arrive at the pool until late afternoon, maybe start a sweep stake who could use somebodies bed for the longest. Doesn't help most of the beds are broken, unless rocking on three legs is a new thing I've missed.
The pool is large which is nice and a touch "fresh" when you first get in, but apart from the broken and missing tiles around the edges (don't stand on one that's come free, it's like stepping on lego) it's ok.
The bar/cafe is ok, usual british fare to be had, 5 euros for a breakfast (point to note the sausauges are fried hot dogs). The "entertainment" is interesting, the arguements between the management and the staff are worth the cost of the holiday alone. When it is busy it can be a wait to get served as there was only ever one person serving, I did think they could utilise the staff member from the mini market to help out at peak times, but she was rushed off her feet - sat on facebook!
On check in you will be given a price list of the "extras" you can get TV is 20e, safe 10e etc. We asked for late check out at 4.00pm for 10e,but got a firm "computer says no" but they did try to sell us an excursion instead - just what we needed a two hour camel ride with no room to get showered in before we flew home - muppets!! Again bungalow was still empty when we left at 5pm.
You can visit the Broncemar Apartments acroos the road to watch the entertainment in the evening, did even contemplate checking in too!
Resort is fine with all the typical bars and restuarants to be had, Paprika is good if you have kids as you can sit whilst they play on the swings etc. Nestors is great for food and good atmosphere, although the heavy chains on the doors might put a few off, 15 is great for going a bit more upmarket and I would certainly recommend.
We chose these bungalows after reviewing the previous comments and find some quite bemusing as they don't reflect our experience, maybe we were unlucky but all in all if you don't expect much and can tolerate, shoddy standards and lack of attention you won't be dissapointed. Yes they are cheap we expected that, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't be safe and secure.
We had low expectations for the price paid, and certianly weren't expecting all mod cons and room service. The Fuertasol does have the potential to be great but without some investment for the years ahead I feel will become extremely run down.

We just got back from a family holiday in Feurteventura where we spent our 7 week stay in Fuertesol Bungalows.

We were very impressed at the value for money that we felt we received. The Fuertesol Bungalows provided all our basic needs. There was one bedroom with twin beds and in the living room the sofa can turn into two single beds too which we utilised for our trip. The bathroom facilities all functioned without a glitch and the kitchen was well stocked for your basic needs including fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster and a hob. There was a dining table inside and an outdoor patio area.

The pool had a deep pool and shallow pool to suit all ages. Our kids loved splashing around in it and you were able to use your own inflatables in the pool.

By the pool are some clean toilets and a pool bar which served food, ice creams and drinks. There is also a small shop by the entrance which despite its convenient location was reasonably priced, we didn't feel ripped off at all when we did buy from there.

A short walk away (5-10 mins) there is a larger supermarket, again very reasonable prices. And the beach is only a 10 minute walk away from the resort which our kids aged 5 and 3 managed no problems! It was a nice gentle stroll more than a brisk 10 minute walk and we enjoyed it. You actually walk past the supermarket to get to the beach so we used to pick up our groceries going to and from the beach.

There is a subway that you go under to get to the beach from the bungalows and the islands main bus service runs just outside of the bungalows. We took the bus number 3 from outside the airport to the caleta de fuste bus stop which is just outside the bungalows. It cost just under 5 euros for the four of us so much better than the crazy transfer prices! We did the same on our return to the airport too.

I highly recommend the area for families as it is very family oriented with plenty of parks everywhere - I forgot to mention that there is a little play park within fuertesol bungalows too! There was a beach party for kids on the Friday which was free of charge and all in all it was a really relaxing traditional beach holiday.

There are camel rides on the beach at 10 euros each and plenty of restaurants if you fancy eating out but these serve mostly english, indian, chinese, italian type of foods. This venue isn't a place for culture and history but perfect for a traditional family holiday to the beach!

The staff were all really helpful too and my family had a great time here!

Room Tip: We were right by the pool which meant we didn't need to join in the sunbed reservation by towel...

We have just got back after spending two weeks here.
This is a lovely place. I was a bit concerned as the price was cheap, so wasn't expecting too much.
We had quite a late flight in, but reception was still open. It wouldn't have mattered if it wasn't as they leave your keys at the bar for you to collect. Very friendly staff, even phoned and enquired at oasis park about the camels for us, nothing was to much trouble. Some of the bungalows themselves were slightly tired, but ours had been freshly painted and was very clean. Those expecting brand new furniture and marble floors will have to stay at the Sheraton just down the road, which costs the same a night, for two weeks here.

The cleaners came in and changed towels etc Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, with a sheet change once a week. Don't bother to pack extra towels as we had plenty.
The kitchen has a kettle, toaster, normal size fridge, two rings, microwave, no oven or grill, but we didn't need it anyway. Plenty of hot water, decent shower, (useful after all those trips to the pool or beach).
The nights were hot, so sleeping was, as to be expected, warm. You could hire a fan, but we felt safe enough to leave the doors and windows open. There didn't seem anywhere on the island we didn't feel at ease and safe, no dodgy characters.
We hired the safe key 10 euros for the 2 weeks, well worth it, to keep everything locked in your own bedroom wardrobe.

The bar was lovely, just off the pool, no loud music, just everyone chilled out and relaxed. We had garlic bread, chips etc when we fancied it for a few euros, as a snack. There was pizza, salads etc.
The pool was clean, refreshing (cool) in the mornings, getting heated during the day. Never got really busy, even in the pool area.
It is on the landing path to the airport, but most places in this resort area are, it wasn't really annoying, apart from 7.30am in the morning.
We hired a car for the duration, there is an off street car park, but those on foot will find the bus stop at the end of the road, a few feet from the bungalows, with main buses and the free oasis park and Baku waterpark buses collecting here too.
We preferred this quiet kind of place instead of the noiser places up the hill... No bingo here thank goodness!

A short walk into the main resort, where there are bars, restaurants, cafe's etc. two beaches to choose from within easy walking distance.

Overall a perfect place to stay.

It's hard to give this place a poor rating as it has such a family feel to it. Went back in May with my OLD uncle who just fell in love with the place (I went solo last December). So, sadly, I must admit, it looks we're going back in December, YEAH!!!!! Personally I blame the staff (STOP BEING SO FRIENDLY (HAHA)!!) Yes it is dated, the beds do creeeeak etc...,but, the pool is great & cleaned every day, pool bar food & service excellent. If you want to splash the cash, stay at the Sheraton & be a number!! Stay here & be remembered!! For a last minute or budget holiday FUERTESOL BUNGALOWS & CALETE DE FUSTE CAN'T BE BEATEN!! For the more adventurous, have a walk up the MOUNTAIN, the views are brilliant!!

Room Tip: All the rooms are the same although you could hope it's quiet enough to have a poolside 1.

We have been to these bungalows twice now and have just booked again today to go in November. The bungalows are a little tired but very very very clean and comfy they have everything you need and if you have anything missing Jose in reception is very good and soon finds what you need.

The food in the bar is exceptional quality and value and the Draught San Miguel is so refreshing and i reccomend it.

The bungalows are cleaned often and it's a proper clean not just a flick around with a duster, when you come in after it's been cleaned you can smell how fresh it is.

The bar staff are very friendly as are the pool cleaners. Infact nothing is to much for ALL the staff.

Don't bother booking transfers from the airport, go just outside arrivals to the bus stop and catch the number 3 it takes you within 100 yards of the bungalows. It takes 20 mins and costs 1.40 euros each. It runs every half hour.

All in all i reccomend these bungalows to couples and families for a relaxing and value for money holiday.
