“Great holiday for the kids”
Reviewed August 14, 2014

We had asked for a pool apartment and that's exactly what we got. Its about 5/6 mins from reception. The pool itself is great, never a shortage of sunloungers and we felt everyone was friendly. My sons had a great time in the pool and there were activities daily for them to take part in (and receive a certificate at night if they won) which they loved. The night entertainment was ok, it could be a bit more varied but I feel if the kids enjoy themselves then personally I can relax so in that respect it was ok. The apartment was clean, it was basic and small and we had a wee bit of an issue with ants but we dealt with that and all in all it was acceptable. The maids came in every 2 days and kept the property very clean and tidy. The food was good, a bit repetitive after the first week, we enjoyed the breakfasts mostly but on our second week we only ate in every second night and tried a few of the local restaurants which are only 10 mins away and are reasonably priced with nice food and cocktails. The staff at reception were helpful but they are very strict with the "all inclusive bands" - no matter what on your final day you hand you band in at 12noon and if you loose the band at all you will be charged 30 euros for a new one. All in all a good budget all inclusive holiday which I would rate as 3 stars.

Room Tip: It is worthwhile choosing a pool apartment as the complex is quite big

Stayed in block C we went self catering and felt the kitchen facilities were too basic they don't even provide a kettle or toaster although these were available to hire from reception.
I had four items missing from our holiday stay swimming shorts, a beach towel and a football top. Other than the football top (was inside) these were all left out to dry on the drying rack outside the apartment, I did find 2 of my other beach towels which the maid had found on her trolley no where near my room. I would not leave anything outside overnight. I did speak t reception about the missing items but they were not interested.
We always ate out on an evening Fados steak house is by far the best I would recommend booking as there is always a queue. A lovely bar called the cave across the road serves pizzas and the staff are very friendly. Solo mio another lovely place to eat.
A lovely island but I think I would choose to say in different accommodation next time.

Was pleasantly surprised by the hotel after reading a lot of previous reviews. Stayed in block C for a week and have just returned, the accomodation is basic but is clean and servicable. the food is good and there is plenty of choice, having read previous reviews i thought i was going to end up eating out every night. All staff were friendly and helpful. if you want a sunbed at any of the three pools i would suggest that you are up early to place a towel on a bed, otherwise you may struggle. the entertainment is good for young kids but again if you want a table arrive early.
As mentioned in other reviews this is not a five star hotel and you get what you pay for, i for one was happy surprised and would consider returning.

We went away expecting an awful holiday based on the reviews that painted an awful image of the hotel. In fact, the hotel is great! The food is fine with a good, varied selection. The maids came every two days which made sure that it was always clean. Our block C apartment was excellent, despite a basic kitchen. There are 3 pools, one in each block. I would recommend the block B pool, which is located behind the dining hall, since A's is small and C's is the largest so it is very busy. Drinks are good but there is nearly always a queue at the pool-side at C's pool, but it should be expected since drinks are free with all inclusive. B's pool bar is good for not having that many queues and when there is they are very short (2-4 max.). Entertainment, however, is so bad it isn't even laughable. The bartenders' reactions were more entertaining than the 'entertainment'. Since I'm an the topic of staff, they were very polite and very nice and friendly. WiFi is best in the reception area and too expensive at 25 euros a week. Free WiFi is available in many restaurants close-by. I would recommend exploring Caleta de Fuste because it offers a wide range of activities. The main beach is rocky in the water and inferior to the other beach that is located behind a shopping mall. Some may say that visiting a beach located a fifteen to twenty minute walk away is stupid, but this particular beach is a must. Other activities in Caleta de Fuste include walking around just to see the beautiful rocky coastline and visiting the marina. Just outside the confines of the resort is a collection of bars and pubs. These pubs and bars host a varied range of things to do. Our personal favorite was the Red Lion since it had free WiFi and reasonable priced drinks. The bar next door, Early Doors, hosts karaoke, an Elvis tribute and a singer. The weather was actually hot, but the cool breeze masked it with a comfortable temperature that assured that we didn't need a fan.

Overall, a great holiday and an amazing one compared to the misleading reviews.

Room Tip: Block C has double glazing and seemed to be a bit more modern than blocks A and B.

This is the first time I have written a review on a hotel but I wanted to warn people not to waste their hard earned money on this horrendous place... We are not fussy at all and always try to see the positive however this hotel is depressing, it is very old, very basic, everything is either extremely worn or broken and its DIRTY.

As soon as we arrived I called our travel company crying, begging them to move us out of this dirty, insect infested pit. We did not feel safe, doors did not feel very secure, windows either did not close properly or did not open. All the furniture in the villa was broken or had bits missing.

The entertainment is inexistent unless you enjoy children singing karaoke most nights. At the bar you could only order 2 drinks at a time, and the queues were horrific as there usually was only 1 person serving. The buffet restaurant can not accommodate the number of people and you will have to wait for a table and for them to restock the food, soft drinks machines were constantly breaking down... I can go on and on about the issues but I do not want to waste anymore time or energy on this awful place...

I really hope everyone reads this before booking this hotel... This place is terrible...

Room Tip: AVOID this hotel

We were meant to be staying at la tahona gardens and got moved here, the room was okay and clean enough but so hot at night, very uncomfortable sleep!! The food mmmm breakfast I would say was the best, only managed lunch twice and dinner seemed to be the same everynight, chicken or fish (think there was pork once) and the desserts were slways little squares off sponge with different flavours. The entertainment was awfull I think I went once and choose to go somwhere else,I wouldn't go back here and if you have booked dont worry it could be worse

We stayed in block A , apartments were ok , would of prefered block C as we went with small children and all the water slides were in c block, no bar in block A you had to walk across a small road and down some steps every time you wanted a drink or snack, we ended up buying drinks for room and snacks even tho we went all inclusive, cleaner came twice the whole week resturant was very busy , most days had to wait for a table , not much choice , you need to get in early otherwise they ran out.childrens choice was limited to overcooked chicken nuggets/pizza and pasta.......wish we had gone self catering as we ate out because food was horrible, my 5 children all came home with a sickness bug and the runs...will NOT be going back to this hotel again
