Very nice 4 star hotel for adults only. Rooms are spacious and furnished in "old Spanish style". The whole property is well kept and the location next to the golf course is very nice.
We had a nice view from our room to the 9th green and could also see a little bit of the sea. The best views are from the rooms to the pool (pool are, golf course sea and no wind!)

The pool are is quite small and it is about 20 minutes walk to the beach. There are, however, free busses from the hotel to the beach, supermarket and other hotels available several times per day. And it is very cheap to take a taxi. E.g. from the airport to the hotel it costs only about 16,00 euros.

We had a half board and were quite satisfied with the food. Especially the buffet for starters was excellent and the staff in the dinner restaurant was very nice, kind and polite.

The only thing we did not like was the never ending heavy wind! Of course it is not the hotels fault, but anyway it had too big influence on our overall experience of the place.

And also the golf course was little too crowded, as most of our rounds lasted about 5 hours.

Room Tip: The best rooms are with the view to the pool (less wind and sunset)

Thank you for sharing your experience. We´re happy to see you were quite satisfied with the food and found excellent our buffet for starters. We specially appreciate your nice words dedicated to our staff in the dinner. Thank you on their behalf.

During some days, weather has not been so good as always, here in Fuerteventura. We hope you come any other time to enjoy the wonders of this paradise and have a great time!

Everything was just perfect from the start. When the taxi drew up to the door we were welcomed by the reception team, given champagne whilst they took care of the booking details and then shown to our room. The room was spacious well appointed and the bathroom was superb. The dining room was run very efficiently with buffet starter then served main meal followed by buffet desserts. If like me you are a coeliac have no fear as they are so aware. Breakfast was equally good. Golf course on site was also up to the same high standard. It is probably the first holiday I have had where no fault or dislikes could be found. Highly recommended and will definitely be back. Weather during the week was sunny and warm but they don't call them the windward islands for nothing.

Room Tip: We were lucky to have a deluxe room with terrace but a room overlooking the pool probably has more s...

On arriving at the hotel we were told we had been up graded - what they didn't tell us was that the room was a vast suite, faced north east overlooking the golf course but the view was blocked by three palm trees. The bed was enormous and if you had to get up in the night you had to crawl to find the edge of the bed to get out of it. We were frozen in this room and I had to ask for a heater and extra blankets. The food in the evening was good but the breakfasts were fairly limited although the 'egg chef' was excellent. One of the receptionists was most unhelpful when I complained that the poolside towels she had issued us with were only fit for cleaning the floors and held up to the light one could see through them. This is not a 5 star hotel for me.

We thought this would hone our golf for the coming season in UK but how we were disappointed. I had to wear water & windproof clothing for all 5 rounds of golf on the very tight, dangerous and slow golf course. The alternative course 'Salinas' was an absolute dead loss, no grass on the fairways (I know what a links course is) one could destroy one's clubs playing from the black pumice rock which I think they call the 'rough'.

Thank you for taking the time to post a review here on Tripadvisor. We regret to know that you didn´t find the Suite at your liking. All of them are provided with a large King size Bed and this is specially highly valued for majority of our guests, although in your opinión this was not convenient for you. This Winter season is being much colder and windy than usual here in Fuerteventura and we can understand that this fact may let down your general impression when the main purpose of your holidays is sun and golf.
We thank you again for your comments as they will help us to improve the service we provide and we hope you reconsider to come back again to Fuerteventura any further time.

We booked with Thomas Cook and opted for the upgraded golf course view room at an extra £84 each. Don't bother, nearly all rooms overlook the course, or the pool with the course beyond. Our room overlooked 3 palm trees! Another point, on arrival the bus driver said he couldn't get to the front of the hotel so we had to walk about 200m, in the rain, with our bags and clubs. The charge made by Thos.Cook to transfer the clubs (£56 each) from airport to hotel is ridiculous so just get a taxi for about 15 euros. However the hotel overall is top class. The staff are very efficient and welcoming. Half board is with a limited choice from the menu, but still sufficient and of good quality. Bar prices reasonable. Discounted green fees for residents. Golf is tough when the wind blows! Have plenty of balls handy.

Room Tip: Don't bother with the add-on golf view package. As said before pool view rooms get the afternoon...

The Elba Palace Golf, a great hotel, yes we got a nice room with a very nice balcony / terrace north facing so at this time of year in the shade with little sun to sit out and enjoy. The Golf resort / course was good spoilt by lack of golf etiquette from other players. One thing on the golf you may wish to check is re the price including trolleys we had to pay at Las Salinas and at Fuerteventura there was no adjustment if you took a buggy. Met some great people and enjoyed playing with them. The bunkers and black stuff on Las Salinas is a challenge and with so much wind why so much sand and black stuff.

In connection with the hotel I think the property is Spanish 5 Star, may be not UK 5 Star, but the service and attention to detail are 3 Star possibly 4, that with my hotelier experience hat on. I left comments for the management with the hotel questionnaire. They haven’t contacted me re these comments or asked for further explanation.

Reception and Golf Shop / Clubhouse staff (both courses) were Excellent.

Our experiences are what others have commented on. Whilst we were there someone told me a story about Spanish man management and what we observed confirmed this.

Don’t get me wrong it was good but should be better! And we will return.

Just returned from an11 night golf break at the Elaba Palace and in our opinion it doesn't deserve five stars. To start with I had to ask for the luggage to be brought in from the taxi to the hotel. Yes we were given a drink of cava on arrival, the receptionist was very helpful, then showed us around the hotel. The room was very dusty, so I informed reception and it was dealt with. There were not enough hangers in the wardrobes, the safe didn't work, and the lights in the wardrobe would not turn off when the doors were closed, all these things were corrected. There weren't any bath towels when we first arrived, and the robes were very worn. The bathroom had a very bad smell, so once again I had to complain. The aircon/heating didn't work. The walls are paper thin and one morning we were woken at 6.45am by next doors alarm clock. I have to say all of the staff are very pleasant and friendly. Breakfast is very good with a good assortment of everything. Dinner the food was ok but nothing special, the menu for the main course is always the same, but with two daily specials. To be honest I got very bored with the choice. Good selection of wines though. The piano bar is ok but always had an awful smell of damp, service sometimes very slow as with the Hoyo 19 bar. The golf course is quite nice but the greens are not too good, some have roots in them which stick out and the hole course is a bit tired, usually it's a five hour round, which is ok as we were on holiday. I do think they need to check handcaps though as we were placed with another couple one day and her's was 42 needless to say it was a bit slow. The other course, Salinas is very neglected as far as fairways, bunkers and lakes are concerned but it is very challenging as there are many many bunkers, but the greens were better than the hotel course. All in all we enjoyed our stay, it is nice and quiet and we met some very nice people. I would say the average age of the guests is 65, say no more

Room Tip: Second floor overlooking pool

We have just returned from a lovely week at Elba Palace. The manager Snr Moreno and his assistant Pilar Jorge and the staff are really outstanding, very helpful and friendly. The food in the restaurant was delicious every night and the breakfast had improved very much from last year. We loved the orange juice machine - whole oranges in the top, press a tap and pure juice comes out.
