Rooms lovely, food great and service and drinks excellent.
We have been on many all inclusive hotels but this was one of the best for simple little touches. They took your order from the table in the evening and you had 'glass' and not silly plastic cups! The measures were brilliant and included lots of drinks you don't usually get on AI.
The pool and entertainment was brilliant.
Would def go back.

Stayed here for a two week all inclusive holiday. Went as a couple. Overall very nice, hotel staff work very very hard. We upgraded to a superior room which I would highly highly recommend. We got complimentary water in room, free spa use, free wifi, beach towels, slippers, dressing gowns and toiletries. Even lovely chocolates on arrival in room. Check in was from 3pm. We got there at 12 so we had cava and nibbles whilst we waited for our room which wasn't a problem as we made use of the sun lounges! The waiters could smile a bit more but then again they work very hard. Bit disappointing with the entertainment as the bar closed at 11pm and no more all inclusive drinks were allowed. The pool bar was lovely to relax if you didn't fancy the entertainment. Would highly recommend the pieros bar around the corner as they have a fantastic range of entertainment for all the family and crazy legs Brian is very good.

We stayed in block 3 with the superior room, very quiet and lovely comfortable beds. The hotel is very large. The food was ok. Lots of choice but a bit repetitive. Would probably go again but with a group of people as it wasn't very private.

Spent a week here with my other half a few weeks ago. On the face of it it's an ok hotel, definitely not a 4star though.

The rooms were cleaned every day although we did have to ask for clean towels every couple of days. The light in our bathroom went 2 days into our trip, and it took 3 trips to reception to get maintenance to come and change the bulb, not ideal when trying to shower in the dark!

We didn't go All Inclusive and this was the best decision we could've made. For our first night we decided to go down to the bar for some cocktails, only to find hundreds of children noisily running around and a theatre show going on at the same time. There is nowhere to have a quiet drink for adults only, and by the looks if the drinks menu, not all drinks are included.

We ate in the restaurant for breakfast as this was included in the cost of our booking. Breakfast was really great, good choice and tables always available. One thing though, we asked several waiters for tea and coffee only to be completely ignored - it's easier to get it yourself from the machines.

Pool area was clean but beds were virtually impossible to come by. The rule against reserving beds is not managed at all, and the worst for this was the Brits as usual. Expect your chilled out day by the pool to be ruined every 2 hours by hotel staff playing bingo or kids pool games which involve a lot of screaming and shouting.

My other half and I joked that it was like Butlins but with the weather - large noisy families have the total run of the place and even though it is advertised as a hotel for couples, it's anything but.

If we were to go back to Fuerteventura, we'd head to Correlejo in the north, a lot more chilled out and much better hotels.

This hotel is very big and generally well organised. Some areas were pretty outstanding such as the kids club, daily activities and food. So much to do you can never get bored, if you wish to of course, otherwise the pool is lovely to chill at and the beach and scenery surrounding the hotel is lovely.

I found the hotel clean, but our room was in need of a bit of refurbishment, wallpaper peeling of a little etc and a bit dated, not what I regard as a 4.5 star which advertised in the Thomson brochure! we were in 2015, very quiet and ground floor - which we requested due to have small baby and another young child. The hotel were great in accommodating this request. The room was probably one of the biggest hotel rooms we have stayed in - it just really needs a spruce up.

Our main issue is the air-conditioning, basically it was a waste of time and didn't work properly. Due to having a baby and the risk of cot death etc I had a room thermometer with me to monitor, we never got the room below 24-25 degrees, on some occasions it was up to 27-28!! This is far to dangerous for babies, so anyone travelling with babies I would recommend you consider this. We had maintenance out twice and they said it was working fine and that we could not have the temperature any lower. With 4 people in a room it was stifling at night - and our baby woke often due to being far to hot :-( This was a real let down for such a high standard of hotel. Upon speaking with other holiday makers, everyone was saying the same thing, one couple have returned there year after year and the were surprised by the air-con dilemma it having worked fine in years past, they went so far as to suggest that perhaps its a hotel cost saving as air con not really individually controlled. If your reading this Barcelo it needs sorting as was a big holiday let down for us!

The food was brilliant we were half board, the restaurant (buffet) gets very busy and noisy but the food choice and quality was great for all of us. We have been on many holidays whereby food is included and I think this maybe up there with one of the best we have been at for food standard. Particularly loved the chocolate fountain and fruit/marshmallows ;-). Some of the staff in the restaurant go out of their way to help, whereas conversely others don't, so we had a mixed customer service experience here.

Just got back from 2 weeks at this hotel. it was a family holiday and we went with another couple, so there were 4 adults and 3 kids, aged 10,11 and 12. We booked directly with the hotel and Cristina Figueroa who took our booking via email was very helpful with the booking and a few questions.

We had 2 superior adjoining rooms (3325/3325), with excellent sea views. Block 3 and Block 2 are best if you want quieter rooms, as block 1 is near the commercial centre with a few bars open late. We had a sea view room, which had an excellent view over the bay.

The food was excellent, with plenty of choice at every meal. I have seen some reviews where people have complained about the selection!! To be honest if there are really people out there that cant choose something from the huge selection at every meat then they are seriously fussy eaters!

The staff were all very friendly and helpful, although there were just 1 or 2 exceptions, but they were few and far between. My daughter lost her iphone, and it was handed in straight away by Houssayne who was behind the bar. He was very helpful and very honest.

The hotel staff took a good approach to towels on sun beds, going around removing the towels of those that claimed a bed and never used it. In the first few days of the holiday people were putting towels on beds then spending the day on the beach, coming back at around 5-6pm to take their towels away. Very frustrating for larger family groups trying to get beds. We had a day crammed onto 4 beds with 7 people, and 2 beds with towels on next to us all day, but with no people. At 4.30pm a couple come back from the beach for 30 mins then disappeared. Once management started removing towels it stopped this behaviour, and also gave us a bit of sport to watch the Italians (biggest culprits) arguing with each other about whose bed it was.

All in all this is a very good hotel with good food, comfortable rooms, good staff and a good management approach to towels on beds. There are plenty of good kids activities also, with the only real downside being the saltwater pools.

Travelled with my family, husband son 5 and daughter 7. Lovely ground floor interconnecting rooms, was dubious about this but soundproofing great ad we had a big decked area and a garden bit for kids to run about on, more than any other rooms had. Room itself bright airy clean, large , beds v comfy. Really didn't need 2 rooms but was lovely to have some space for kids to watch tv and play on their own,! Showers lovely. Food choice and quality excellent for all the family from healthy salads to fresh meat and fish grilled in front of you to pizza and chips for kids. Pool fab, one with all the noise and games nr the fab pool bar...cava bottles in ice buckets for you to help yourself yaeh!! Wine beer on tap and bar food all day to snack on that the kids cld help themselves to ice cream coke water and we didn't have to keep getting up to help them was fab!! There was a quieter pool where we sat 1.2m high so kids were safe enough to be in there without us, and we cld just watch over them. No loud music blaring. Whole Place gated and safe and just outside the gates, eh voila ...the beach!! Fab little beach cabana and play area, shallow sea lovely sand, really safe and not busy. Loved it. Evening entertainment was amazing, sat with a piña colada to sangria watching lion king, fab flamenco. Now I am really a snob where shows are concerned and hate the whole karaoke night, poor Choreography and cringe worthy shows, but this was really really great. Kids got to be involved at the end getting up and meeting the cast and dancing on stage. The daytime kids club was fab 1030 to 1 then 3-5. Brilliant!! We've never used it before, but our kids went in for 5 out of our 8 days for either morning or afternoon, form beach party's to kite making, doing a show, art and craft and mini golf, they were safe, welcomed, spoken to in English. Just to have 2 hours but he pool with my husband and read a book with my earplugs in was heaven!!!!! The kids club and all staff really were fab and couldn't have been more lovely to us all. Really highly recommend this as a family resort for under 10 yr olds, location and facilities wonderful. Everything a family holiday needs x

Just returned from our 15th consecutive visit to Barceló and as always, everything was really fantastic.

As always, prior to the holiday we emailed Cristina who, made sure any requests were dealt with and did all possible to ensure our stay was as we wished. We met with Cristina and Erika from the back office at reception and they really are committed to ensuring all guests enjoy their stay and do all they can to help....thanks so much ladies....you really are the best!

As always, on arrival, all guests were made extremely welcome by all the staff at Reception and we were soon down for dinner in the wonderful restaurant as we had a late flight.

I have said this before but say again: - looking around the pool area and gardens, as always, everything was spotlessly clean with the team of gardeners working to keep the areas pristine. Special thanks to Antonio who always seemed to find a few minutes to say hello and have a chat.

As always, the food was up to Chef Thomas Nunez's usual high standards with plenty of variety every day, from breakfast to Dinner. Again, ,my thanks to the lady chef, whose name I did not get (but who is from Venezuela) but who made us fabulous omelettes to order each breakfast. We always had a good chat each day and she finds time amongst all the duties she has to spend some time with guests asking about their stay.....very nice.

Some fabulous dishes were available and the steaks (veal) were particularly delicious.

On one evening there was a speciality chef brought in who carved fresh hams and salami......wafer thin and spectacular.

Many theme nights were on this time and we enjoyed everything from Mexican to Italian....but still with a massive range of other foods if you wanted.

Every waiter and waitress was superb, not only in the dining room but in the theatre and pool bar. Thanks to Lola and Omar who remember us from our many visits (as did so many) but with whom we often had a chat. Thanks also to Elias, Jesus and Lawal.....just so friendly...these people are the best. (I apologise to others whom I have not mentioned...doesn't mean you were not as good or friendly...just could not remember all the names!!!)...everyone, without exception was fantastic.

Entertainment was as always fist class with the brilliant Billy Luigi and team leading the way. Steffi, Lorenzo, Simona, Joachim, Monique, Sara, Andrea, Elya and Allesandro, as well as those whose names I have missed made a great team. I am sorry if I cannot remember all the names as I have missed a few here but who were equally brilliant. Have to say that Billy Luigi is the best entertainer we have ever seen (including TV) and one of the nicest people you could meet - had the audience laughing every night....as well as entertaining, like all the team do, during the day...hard workers and great entertainers.

Many thanks to the team for encouraging and training the youngsters to take part in the shows with them; made for a real family atmosphere. Special thanks for how the team treated Jethro and Barry; these men had downs syndrome and were treated especially well by all the team. They were encouraged to participate in just about every show and activity and it brought a tear to everyone's eye when on their last night, they got on stage and gave their favourite lady entertainer (Nicole, I think) a present. Nothing was too much trouble for the animation team and this was reflected across all staff at Barcelo.

The rooms remain of a high quality and the maids ensure they are spotlessly clean.

Again, public toilets were also kept spotless by the cleaners; a real credit to the hotel and its desire to maintain high standards.

We are already booked for another three visits and will now look for 2014/15!

Recommended? Absolutely; it is a great hotel, with great facilities, great entertainment, staff and food and all you could wish for.

As I said in a previous report, I did recommend it to friends who went earlier this year and who too said how delighted they had been with the hotel.

More friends will be visiting soon on my recommendation and as is usual, we met many return guests to Barceló, so pleased were they with the hotel.

I would also like to thank Sub Director, Mr Oliver Schumann who one day stopped us as we left the restaurant and took time to talk to us about our stay at Barceló and who was regularly seen attending to so many areas from dining to poolside.....he asked us if there was anything we wanted and to let him know if he could help in any way; this appears to be the philosophy adopted by all staff....absolutely wonderful.

An enormous thanks yet again to all at Barceló for making this yet another memorable holiday....counting the weeks to our next visit.
