We returned back from this hotel in the early hrs of this morn..the hotel was fantastic, brill location, beach on doorstep n shops n bars also right next door.. The rooms were very spacious n kept very clean, the bed was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in , n absolutely enormous, all 5 of us could've fitted in it...there was a vast choice of food, all beautifully presented n I have to say we all over indulged, my little 3 year old lad was most upset this morn not being able to tuck into his sausages n bacon... The staff were very friendly n helpful n I must mention our Thomson rep mel, we had a problem with our youngest son's pull out sofa bed with a very dangerous gap between the mattress n the bed frame n she rectified this n our non working air con too, so a big thanks for that!! We had mixed weather, 4 days of sun , then a dull day, and on our last day torrential rain, but obviously this is no fault of the hotel.... Overall a really good holiday in a lovely resort n I would have no hesitation in coming back....

Room Tip: Choose block 2 or 3 as we were in block 1 which backed on to bars n restaurants n was quite noisy with the patio doors open

Having been to 4and 5 star all inclusive resorts with First Choice and Thompson before we expected to find a very good standard for everything across the board. Unfortunately this was certainly not the case.
We were told we had to pay for beach towels, pay for the safe in the room which was €10for towels and €3.00a day €5deposit this is not all inclusive.
Our room 1019 was ground floor in a corner no sunshine or natural light for most of the time, next to a very noisy staff canteen and surrounded by kitchens. Quite noisy at times with trolleys etc.
asked for another room but dismissed with they were full very busy.
First time used the bathroom a large cockroach sitting on the towel which was duly evicted, had quite a few which wasn't nice but ground floor and hot country.
Lots of cockroaches in fruit and restaurant not pleasant.
One restaurant thought there was two. Food absolutely rubbish very repetitive very cold lots of leftovers disguised as other dishes. Had runs for ten days due to poor diet.
A lot of the staff very surly, did not make for a pleasant experience drinks waiters in the main bar of an evening useless needed at least two on duty and should have been organised better. The entertainment provided for an hour every evening by the hotel crew was excellent.
Very professional.
Towels on beds at ridiculous hour in the morning, some rules adhered to rigorously others not bothered with.
Could go on and on as this was not a good experience will not be going back to this hotel too much wrong.

This was our 3rd venture to the island of Fuertaventura in the last 3 years, returning again, having had 2 delightful experiences in different parts of the island over the previous 2 years. We are both of senior age. We went over the half term holidays, so we fully expected a large number of families to be present, and that indeed was the case. However, in fairness, although they were all clearly enjoying themselves, there was never a feeling of disturbance or intrusion
This hotel, with over 300 rooms spread over 3 floors is situated at Costa Caletta, a resort on the Med coast to the east of the island not a stone's throw from the airport near the centre of the island.
Good bits (in no particular order)
a. Very good, very clean, spacious, rooms (made even better for us personally by asking for and getting a 'sea-view' room in Block 2 overlooking the Med, the harbour coastline and the hotel pool areas). Whole complex was indeed very clean, very well maintained.
b. Very large (almost double size) 'single' beds with plenty of room to spread out, although are normally pushed together to form a huge 'double' bed.
c. Usual facilities in room, including air conditioning (automatically turns off once you open the balcony windows) and complimentary bits and pieces, but without tea-making facilities as standard. (We had taken our own kettle/teabags etc anyway based on previous experience) only to find that the hotel can provide this facility for you. We found the equipment provided for us without asking upon our return to the room one day and can only assume they saw our own stuff and guessed we were typical English tea drinkers. I presume therefore this facility would be available to all - on request!!
d. TV - large FST provided as standard, but typically tuned in to predominently Spanish and German channels. owever, during our stay, the hotel upgraded the service within the complex to fully digital service, thereby giving many more station options, including more English based channels alongside the choice in quite a few of them of changing the source langusges over to English, which was very helpful.
e. Linen was changed for us every day, towels exchanged as when asked for by us by leaving them loose in the bath indicating a change required.
f. Despite previous Advisor reports, we found porterage WAS available for both arrival and departure, but, you do have to ask - it is not offered up front for some reason.
g. Plenty of sunbeds throughout resort, but, typically, you need to reserve them with towels even though, as normal, you are notified you are not supposed to. Lots of English people staying during our week (half term in most parts of the UK), which made a change from previous years when it was predominently German and/or French families.
h. Large expansive beach was immediately adjacent to hotel and very easily accessible. Cost for a single sunlounger on the beach was 4.5€ per day (no charge for umbrella shade). Typical breezy feeling on beach, but certainly not unpleasant and well subscribed each day we chose to go there.
i. We went in October, and although temps each day were up in high seventies/early eighties, the pools were still cold-ish and needed getting used to once you were in.
j. We were celebrating a special occasion whilst there and were greeted on arrival in the room with a bottle of bubbly and a selection of special chocolates. Very nice touch.
k. There is a separate building, very modern, housing the Spa and other Gym facilities (opens from 10am each day), located just otside the main perimeter fencing, but still a part of the hotel and although not included in the package we opted for, we were able to enjoy a large range of their facilities, including massages etc, thanks to a gift from our daughter who had arranged it for us in advance as a surprise. The facilities and the staff in theSpa are excellent and we found it all very relaxing and rewarding.
e.Hotel food - we opted again for half-board. It was all freshly prepared, had a wide choice availble and was 'good', and plenty of it, but not quite on par with our previous dining experiences in the previous years.
f. Staff - all staff we encountered during our stay, from reception to domestic staff, were very pleasant, eager to please and in 99% of the cases, spoke good English (including the porters that some people have said in the past do not exist)

Not so good bits (more 'niggles' really) - again - no particular order
1. We arrived in the hotel very late at night due to flight times, and, naturally I suppose, we were all presented with a miniscule range of food to have in place of what would have been our inclusive evening meal. (Hint: if you want a cup of tea late in the evening - after 10pm - you will only find cold milk at the main bar, they will gladly give you a glass full FOC if you ask - it will NOT be available in the restaurant at that ime of night)
2. We had to 'ask' for porterage, but - it was given with no quibbles each time
3. There are NO tea/coffee facilities in the rooms, unless you ask for it - this is not obvious on arrival
4. The deposit (returnable on leaving) on the hotel's own beach towels in 10€ EACH, so watch out if there are lots in your family as it costs a lot up front. Towels can then be exchanged as often as you wish, but at a cost of 3€ per towel each time (non-returnable)
5. There is NO free w-fi - minimum cost is 3€ per 3 hours paid for at reception who then give you an ID and password to use (easiest way around this is to walk to one of the local restaurants (very close by) who offer free access and ask them for their password).
6. You are close to the airport, so no surprises when the planes come in/depart just above your head whilst lying by the pool. Surprisinly after the first few have been seen/heard, they tend to just 'be in the background' and you do not really notice them at all. Very occassionally one will seem to be that little bit lower/louder than the rest, but after you have shaken hands with the pilot as he flies overhead and said hello to the passengers you soon forget it was ever there and get back to your mojito
7. Beach is often advertised alternatively as 'pebbly' or 'beautiful golden sand' depending whose reviews you read, but the truth is - it is 'mixed'. The nearer to the waterline you go the more fine and clear the sand is, whilst progressing towards the rear of the beach it is actually more 'gritty' (ie very fine, crushed stones') and certainly not pebbles. In any event, there are laid down bordwalks from severaol access points onto the beach running most of the way down towards the waterline to help avoid any stones if barefoot
8. Evening entertainment every night - some good, others not so good, and occasionally below average, - but - the bar and lounge are just as handy and comfortable as the performance space, so no problem to sit out and simply relax.
9. Beds are generally 'firm - very firm' but still got a fair nights sleep

OVERALL - we had a thoroughly enjoyable, relaxing holiday, which is exactly what we, as more senior people, wanted. We were personally well looked after, even though we recognise we had to prompt some aspects rather than it be automatically provided. But as we established this early doors in our stay, we were able to be well accommodated from that point on. Value for money? For us - yes - but again, if you are not all-inclusive, the drinks prices can perhaps seem a little OTT at times. (Typically - San Miguel, pint, 5€, Glass of coke 2.20€ and so on). However, unless you drink from dawn til dusk, it is unlikely to break the bank and we did come home with a very small surplus of euros, even with family gift-buying, which we hadn't really expected to.

Room Tip: Ask for 'sea-view' and go for 'end' rooms to get best overall views (we were in room 2322) but these WILL embrace noise from the pools, so be prepared (Pools are NOT used after about 6.30pm we found). End rooms, such as we had, are sunnier and have more light ingress Ask for tea making facilities if that is what you seek

First time visitor to Fuertaventura and this hotel helped make the visit all the more pleasant.

Most of my comments echo the earlier comments of jock1967.

Loads of positives and a small number of negatives.

Positives:
Comfortable room in block 2 with great view over pool area. Air-conditioning was helpful and balcony doors kept out any night-time noise or passing aeroplanes.
Lovely location, both within and outside the hotel grounds. Beach is on the door step. Well paved promenade to the harbour area (nice on an evening to stroll along).
Grounds, hotel rooms, lobbys, foyets etc all well maintained and soon cleaned up where fellow holiday-makers had made a mess.
All-Inclusive was definitely worth the money.
Restaurant was a little samey, ie no theme nights. Food plentiful and, on the whole, very nice.
Always got a welcoming greeting from Carlos when we used the restaurant, which I think is very important to make the customer feel at home.
I thought the snack bar was OK and being able to pour your own drinks was very helpful, especially in the heat, as there was no queueing to be served.
It is really a holiday for those who don't want to expend much energy. It is very quiet and Caleta De Fuste is certainly not for those who like to party well into the night.
Loads of families there as it was half-term, bur never found the kids a nuisance or noisy as there was plenty going on for them within the complex ..... not so much for adults though.
Theatre was top-drawer and special mention must go to the Animacion team who put on different shows every night. Whilst we are not talking West End here, the shows were of a high standard and some of the guys were extremely funny and entertaining. They obviously work very hard on these shows, and you can tell.
I would also agree that the waiter service during these shows was a huge plus to the experience.
We also found the post-midnight entertainment of a couple making love to each other on an adjacent balcony, after lights out, hugely entertaining. Really brought a new meaning to All Inclusive.
There is a superb 36-hole mini-golf course within the grounds - very pleasant on the eye as the grounds are superb, but very frustrating to play (as I am useless .....)

Negatives:
Beach Towels - As mentioned elsewhere, there are boards everywhere telling clients not to reserve their sunbeds. A great idea in theory; in practice, totally ignored and unpoliced. It meant that you had to get up at dawn, in this case 7.30am, in order to get yourself a decent position by the pool. A great idea, but about as useful as a chocolate fireguard if the rules aren't adhered to and the policy not policed correctly.
Film Crew - During our stay, the hotel was having a corporate video shot, to try and show off the best of its facilities to potential new clients. Not a huge issue, apart from the constant inconvenience, over a 2-day period, of hotel management shepparding "bog-standard" holiday-makers away from any area that they were filming (sometimes quite abruptly) and only ensuring the "beautiful people" (corporate actors and actresses ??? ... didn't seem like normal holidaymakers to me) were allowed to be filmed. Felt that the film shoot took far too long to shoot and that the hotel management were somewhat disrespectful to those who had already paid good money to stay at the hotel.
Non-English TV - When we arrived we had True Movies, True Entertainment, CBS Action and BBC World News..... then we lost everything .... then a couple of engineers came (to all rooms I believe) ... and we ended up with just the 2 True channels (which are crap anyway) and 52 channels in Spanish, German, French etc. Quite strange considering that the majority of the clientele were Brits.
Grumpy Staff - This was by no means across the board and applied only to a few members of bar and restaurant staff who either didn't want to be there in the first place, were jobsworths, or were more interested in chatting up the female clients.

However, as I said at the top, the positives far outweighed the negatives. Definitely a place for families and non-partying adults.

Looking forward to returning next year.

Room Tip: A lot of people on here have recommended Block 3, but we found Block 2 to be very quiet and only a stone's throw away from the remainder of the hotel. Also, get up early for best sun loungers.

The rooms are comfortable but not amazing, fantastic reception and pool area. The location is good, very close to the beach and near to one of the main shopping/bar areas. I found the all inclusive option to be fab, food was plentiful and varied throughout the week although the snack bar was a bit of a let down and the pour your own drinks were not always as nice as from the bar which you weren't allowed to use by the pool. Caleta de fuste is very quiet not a lot of choice for entertainment. Perfect holiday if you just want to relax and spend your time at the pool and beach all day. The hotel has an excellent theatre are and drinks served by a waiter (nice touch I thought) and the entertainment was decent. Was really pleased that the hotel provided food and following our late arrival but disappointed that the hotel did not police it's policy of not leaving towels in its sunbeds, we always got the rubbish ones with no sun until the afternoon!
