We stayed for 12 nights at the start of June and had an excellent holiday. The resort is very large and is comprised of a couple of different sections. We stayed in the 2000 area in a 1 bedroom bungalows close to the beach and main facilities. The accommodation is lovely - spacious and clean with a very big terrace. We were all inclusive and I would recommend this option as the food is very good - plenty of options for everyone and the beers/wines/spirits are good. The kids club and kids entertainment is excellent and our children had a ball - the entertainers work very hard to make sure that the kids are happy. Like all resorts the evening shows can vary but were on the most part OK. There are a couple of different pools in the resort and we spent most of our time at the largest pool (near the 3000 bungalows). This is the first holiday I've ever been on where there was always plenty of sunbeds no matter what time of day you went to the pool. The snack bars serve food throughout the day (mainly fries, burgers and limited salads) but you are so full from AI - breakfast, lunch & dinner that I don't know how you could cram any more food in! My only negative about the holiday is the evening bar area: You either have a choice to sit at tables outside (v. windy & cool in the evenings so bring a warm jumper) or sit in the 'theater' area where the shows are which is very noisy. It would be lovely if they had a separate bar area where you could have a relaxing drink before dinner or stay on without being either cold or not able to talk because of the loud music/stage show. 0therwise a really lovely family holiday that I would recommend.

Room Tip: We stayed in the 2000 area of rooms - good location between restaurant and beach area.

The hotel is only a 20minute transfer from airport so nice short bus journey.
It is over a large area and right on the beach, there were a few pools and mini golf etc.
Check in:
Check in was quick and prompt by friendly hotel staff. Gave all info required for all inclusive and resort. There was a member of staff on hand to walk you to your accommodation, which was a nice touch.
We were travelling with a 7 week old baby and were originally given a room upstairs with no lift. Not ideal at all. The staff advised us to wait until the morning, however as we did not want to unpack then pack again we went straight back to reception. The room gladly was changed to a little bungalow style apartment. Unfortunately this came with a different issue......cockroaches. I advised the reception that we had cockroaches, they fumigated the apartment on a second request however this did not help the issue. Not great when we had 2 children with us. The apartment was well equipped, travel cot for baby, pull out bed for 5year old. The aircon helped as we didnt want to leave sliding doors open due to a number of cats roaming about. Cleaners came in every day but apart from make the bed and replace the towels i am unsure as to what they actually did. No evidence of actual cleaning.
There were a few pools, due to having children with us we used the one beside the kids club. Was a nice shallow pool, however, was salt water. It is classed as the kids pool but no play area, just a pool, this encouraged holiday makers to buy inflatable pool toys, this included huge boats with oars, absolute pain when trying to play with our wee girl in the pool. There was a life guard, he seemed to be more interested in helping with the pool bar, we didn't really see him monitoring the pool. The pool bar beside the kids club was nice, provided basic snacks, chips hot dogs etc. and plenty of drinks. The hotel claims to have a policy of no reserving sun loungers, this was not the case. Every morning all the beds with parasols were claimed, usually by 9am, with no sign of who had claimed them.
Toilet floors:
The other issue was a soaking wet toilet floors and at the kids pool had steep steps leading down to them. Even with shoes on the floors were drenched and really quite dangerous, my back was sore from constantly slipping on them, my wee girl fell quite a few times. This problem applied to all the shared bathroom facilities.
The main restaurant supplied nice food. Not a huge amount of variety, lots of salad choices. There was a kids buffet section but was really just fish fingers. We were here for 1 week and i got really quite fed up with the food choices. We always go all inclusive and found this hotel seemed to have less variety then any other we have visited. They are also very strict about men wearing long trousers for dinner service. The staff in the restaurant were all very nice and helpful and cleared tables quickly.
Playpark & Kids Club:
The hotel has a kids club avaliable. Due to the range of nationalities, we found that the staff at times struggled with all the languages. Also my wee girl found there were not many british kids for her to speak to, this meant it was a bit boring for her. The staff were all lovely and fun and arranged lots of activities, however there seemed to be a lot of just free play time or colouring in. It was also free for hotel guests. To be honest, the staff tried very hard but its not on the same level as the holiday company run clubs we have used in the past. We ended up not using it at all. Play park is well equipped and well maintained and right beside kids pool.
Just a 5 minutes walk from the hotel is the main town centre. Lots of shops and play parks. And a huge selection of restaurants and bars. Very nice atmosphere. We ate one evening at an italian called Casanova, the food was delicious and the staff were all great. I would recommend it. Very good value for money. Right next to the italian was a bar called Studs. Provided free wifi and was very cheap. We were there when the world cup was on so great atmosphere. There was a play park right beside the restaurant and bar so lots of children playing there, would recommend it for families.
the only trip we actually went on was to the zoo. The hotel reception sells tickets and there is a free bus directly from the hotel. Was about a 45minute journey. Well worth it. The zoo is fantastic with loads to do, camel rides, farm area, play park, and plenty shows for entertainment. You could buy bags of food to feed the giraffes and elephants, great experience. Highly recommend this as a trip for anyone!
Overall, hotel was fine, but did have a lot of areas that could be improved. Would i return, no. However, the issues above did not spoil a nice relaxing holiday.

We have just returned (Aug 3) from a week's holiday in the resort staying in a one bedroom superior bungalow on an All Inclusive basis.
The highlights for us as a family of 4: Excellent food and attentive restaurant staff. The waiters were very friendly with the children and patient with the hefty volume of people staying on the busiest week of the year. All tastes were catered for and we never felt rushed, even if we were late for breakfast. The All Inclusive bar area was well tended and clean. The bungalow was clean and towels changed daily. Reception staff were friendly and generally informative, although there was one miscommunication about an archery session. Areas were clean and well cared for.
The lowlights: The bungalow was small and there was a real shortage of storage space for clothes for 4 people. There was a lack of shade around the pool areas and a lack of space generally for the volume of guests staying last week. Evening entertainment was limited and again space was an issue, although bar staff worked hard to serve drinks as quickly as there were able to so many guests. All in all - good value for money!

Room Tip: I travelling as a family - go for the 2 bedroom bungalow option.

Just returned (31 July) having spent a great 7 days at this resort. Superior bungalow with sea view was exactly what we got - superb! The resort is clean, with well tended attractive gardens. Rooms are cleaned and towels changed daily. We were half board. I cannot think of any taste in food for breakfast that was not catered for (from cereals through all continental variations to full English breakfast). At dinner, the buffet menu included different dishes every night. In a word the food was excellent. Our only gripe was the beach - the shingle beach is hard on the feet - beach shoes definitely recommended, and the daily hire charge for beach sun beds and umbrellas were the highest we encountered anywhere on the island. Hiring a car is not expensive. Visits to Jandia (75 mins) and Corralejo (35 mins) are worth it for the beaches especially Corralejo where the incoming tide produces some spectacular but safe breaking waves providing great fun for the kids (and adults). As far as value for money is concerned, given the high standard of accommodation, food and general surroundings and facilities in the resort, and the current strength of the pound, not to mention the guarantee of sun all and every day, this has got to have been the best value foreign holiday we have had in over 30 years of summer holidays.

Room Tip: We were in the 2000 group of bungalows - my daughter and family were in the 5000 group. Both were ve...

Just returned from our first holiday with no children and stayed for a week at this hotel.

1. Lack of information about activities and facilities on arrival - rep meeting not until next day at lunch time.
2. Food in restaurant was bland at times and repetitive. Only 1 place to eat as part of all inclusive. there was another snack bar on site but not included as part of all inclusive.
3. Main pools were salt water and tasted awful
4. Main pool are was in need of attention, tiles missing.
5. Not informed when booking about refurbishment work taking place, although rate of work to create walkway to new theatre facility was fantastic. Only disturbed a few times by drills and saws. No lighting or thought for health and safety in these areas.
6. Entertainment, not always as advertised - we went to see a 70s 80s 90s band but turned out to be acrobats. New theatre impressive but sound quality is terrible.

1. Room (5030) was excellent, one bedroomed apartment. Nice surprise to find out own patio with jacuzzi hot tub. Room was clean, well equipped (kitchen area, fridge, safe, etc). Most comfortable bed we have every sleep in in a hotel (even if 2 singles and not a double). Lighting in shower not great but adequate.
2. Staff were great, very welcoming and helpful. Bar and restaurant staff worked very hard, very friendly and attentive. Excellent waiter service in the bar area of the theatre.
3. Location was great, beach was 1 min walk from room. Hotel near to local amenities, eg bars, restaurants and shops.

Interested to see how this hotel looks when all refurb is finished, would hopefully just add to the good bits already there. We didn't have children so can't comment on activities available,

Room Tip: Blocks in 2000s and 5000s near to main restaurant and theatre areas and reception.

Nice hotel, spread out, great facilities & extremely well kept!

Restaurant good, we preferred the salads.......more interesting things in them!

The hotel shop us fantastic, offering: shampoo/conditioners/coffee/tea/bread/biscuits/milk/marmites!!/chocolate......everything., it's very well stocked!

The evening entertainment is very classic hotel entertainment.

A lot of the entertainment was aimed at the French, especially the pre-dinner entertainment in the bar - very loud French rep, playing French games with hundreds of French people!

We had two cockroaches in our room.

There are lots of cats & cats homes dotted round the complex.

We emailed the complex to ask for two adjoining bungalows, close to the restaurant.....they appeared never to get the email?!?

Go by taxi to the airport!!

Room Tip: 2000 rooms nearest to all facilities

I was here for 10 days at the beginning of July 2014 with my wife, children and mother-in-law. We had two rooms - a standard apartment in the 2000 block for my mother-in-law, and a 2 bedroom apartment in the 5000 block for my wife and I, with our kids aged 3 and 4.

The negatives (of which there aren't many!):
1) We found the electrics to be very dodgy. They weren't working when we checked in due to a blown light bulb in the shower which took 3 visits from the maintenance team over 6 hrs to fix. We then had problems with the fridge and the air con (all resolved), and then had a period of 2 or 3 days where the supply was constantly tripping out (10 times one evening). That might be due to the supply from the national grid rather than the wiring in the apartment, who knows, but very annoying. Anyway, management dealt with it by upgrading us from B&B to Half Board for the remaining 2 nights of our stay, which was ok;
2) The 2 bedroom apartment is not really two bedrooms. There is one bedroom - i.e. a room with a door which you can close! but the other double bed (or rather, two singles put next to each other) is all open plan - i.e. there is no door, so adjoins the lounge / kitchen / bathroom area. No great problem, but with 2 little kids sleeping meant we had to tiptoe around a bit. Would have been good to have that made clear when booking.

The positives:
1) Right next to the beach - from our 5000 block room, we could walk to the promenade in less than 60 seconds;
2) Buffet breakfast is enormous with great selection of fruit, cereal, cold meats, cheese fry-up, bread, pastries, cakes etc. Gets very busy around 9am
3) Buffet dinner similarly enormous and with excellent choice, although perhaps not quite as good quality. €18 per head a little pricey compared to in-town alternatives;
4) Nice relaxed feel to the whole complex, several clean and well maintained pools to choose from, although they can be chilly unless the sun has been on them all day!;
5) Lots of activities for adults and kids, should you want to join in;
6) Caleta de Fuste is less than 10 minutes from the airport - and there is plenty of parking at the hotel if you hire a car like we did.

Overall, really enjoyed our stay and have already booked a return trip for next year.
