“Basic but everything you need !”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 27, 2013

We stayed at these bungalows in June. They are basic but have most things you actually need! One thing that would help is having your own loungers for your patio - that would have been ideal for us. There are plenty lying about the pool. We didn't eat here as there are lots of places to eat only a 5 minute walk away.

We have just returned from a week at Cay beach, the room was lovely, very clean and modern, quite hot on a night but left the windows open so not to bad, we managed to sleep anyway, didnt bother with the air con. Kitchen well equipped for self catering, we took our own travel kettle but found one in the cupboard. Large patio to sit out on, only had 2 chairs but just took one from inside. Can't comment on food/bar as didnt go, not far from the town centre where there was loads of bars/restaurants at very reasonable prices. We did ask for the remote control for the tv just so could have it on whilst getting ready, and my daughter wanted the kids channels but at 30 euros for a week we didnt bother. We got the safe which was 10 euros.
The man on reception when we checked in wasnt the quickest we just wanted to get to the room as got delayed at the airport with an hour and half wait for the luggage. He was more interested in sorting out a remote control for somebody, personally i think he should of made them wait as we had only just arrived, by the time we managed to off load our cases to the room all the shops were shut to get water ect.. managed to get a bottle from the bar area just to put us on until morning. Wifi is expensive so didnt get that but is plenty places in the town that have it for free. Had a couple of cockroaches but nothing major its to be expected in a hot country nothing a shoe didnt sort out. 10 minutes from the airport which is handy as didnt need a transfer was only aprox 12 euros in a taxi. Did get a spanish family near us with kids that thought it was funny to wander across our patio instead of going round but nothing a dirty look didnt solve lol. Will look for better flight times next time though as had to be out at 12 and only went to the airport at 6 so a lot of hanging about, can leave cases in a room at reception though. All in all a lovely holiday, weather excellent and down the road from the beach, what more could you ask for and for just under £1300 for a family of 3 cant complain at that.

We booked this as a family of 3, 2 adults one teenager. It was a cheap self-catering holiday and we got exactly what we expected. The biggest surprise was the location...fantastic! 5 minutes to the nearest beach and 3 minutes to the town centre.

The apartments were as you'd imagine 3 star apartments to be, I really don't understand how people can be surprised with the basic accommodation...it is only 3 star! They were cleaned 5 out of the 7 days we were there. There was a problem with ants, but we soon sorted that out by only eating outside and putting food in the fridge.

We took advantage of hiring the air conditioning, it was only 3 euros a day, and well worth every penny!

The pool. well, we spent a lot of time by the pool and we all enjoyed it, especially our son. There was water polo and other games, which both he and my husband enjoyed. Finding a bed was never a problem. Plenty of beds, a little cramped but at least there were plenty!

I think for the money we paid this was an excellent, no frills holiday. Not sure we'd go back as I would like something a little nicer, will Definitely visit Calete de Fuste again as it was such a lovely area.

We stayed here 2 weeks all inclusive 10th-24th August as a party of 3 and paid £2000.

Accommodation:
nice size apartment and patio area, clean and modern.
safe only €24,didnt use TV or aircon.

Pool:
nice and clean, large and very refreshing in the heat of the day.ample sunbeds,no need to get up at silly o'clock to reserve them.

Bar:
did not like the paper/plastic cups, soft drinks tended to be flat, beer OK,could be a bit slow when people ordering snacks as only 1 person on the bar to serve and cook.
cant comment on the upstairs bar or entertainment,as we went out every night.

Food:
Overall the food in the resturant was fine.
Breakfast was sometimes lukewarm, but other than that OK.
only big problem was some of the greedy French people could be a bit arrogant and push you around and jump the queue!

So,overall it was fine, but we would not return,as we found Caleta to be too quite for us.....back to Turkey next year ;)

Room Tip: room 151 next to the pool and close to bar/resturant.

We arrived to the most tiny apartment, really meant for a couple not for a family of four only two garden chairs. Air con and tele was a added expense, but when we paid for both, the air con is in the bedroom so you freeze in the night if you sleep in the bedroom and the people in the beds in the lounge cook........and the tele well....... Apart from a total con the aerial had a bad connection so kept turning off so we asked for our money back, thy decided it was the remote, doh! The maintenance man come to the room flicked through said it was ok and went to leave. In the end after even replacing the tele we got the money back, but no tele. Also it is done by a electronic key so when you leave the room the air con goes off so you cannot keep the room cool throughout the day. Other things reception staff more interested in the young women walking past, ants in the apartments every where, a view if a peeling brick wall and a main road, location ok, but very boring for young children, perfect if you have time to read and chill, The pool is lovely but after two days it was a bit cloudy and the floor was very sharp and gritty. All excursions so expensive. Good points fado rock, pieros music cafe, the catamaran trip and going home.

We have just returned from a week's stay at Cay Beach. We stayed in Bungalow 454 and found it to be clean and tidy. We paid extra for air con and also a safe and found both charges to be reasonable. We stayed Half Board and felt it was just about right for us as Full Board would have tied us if we wanted days out. The food was lovely - no complaints at all. Lovely fresh salads everyday, lots of fruit and bread available. My partner always had something cooked each night whereas I tended to have the salads. The puddings were lovely too.

There is an issue with ants in the apartments but it's to be expected in such a hot climate (don't do as we did and leave opened packets of food ie crisps or sugar about on the worktops - put it away in the fridge otherwise they find it). The cleaners very kindly left us some ant spray and this did the trick. We were close to pool but not disturbed. The beds were quite hard but again this is to be expected when abroad (I've never found a comfy bed abroad?!).

Everywhere is lovely and clean and the Reception staff went out of their way to help out and also chat to my 6 year old daughter. The pool was clean and quite large so plenty of space. The sunbeds are quite packed together and there is not a lot space to move them about but to be honest it didn't really bother us as most of the time many of the sunbeds were not being used. There are plenty of sunbeds available so no real need for 'saving sunbeds with towels'.

We spent a couple of days by the beach and I can highly recommend the beach outside the Hotel Sheraton and Elba Sara - it is stunning and worth the extra five mins walk from the main beach - really sandy and no rocks!! It nothing else then visit this little beach it's fab and made our holiday!! I can also recommend a trip to the Baku Water Park at Corralejo. It's a bit on the expensive side but well worth it for the kids (as long as they are over 1.2m in height otherwise there is not much they can go on).

The only real negative thing I would say is the bar area is lacking - there is plenty of space for it to be a proper bar area where people could also sit at night and have a few drinks but they seem not to have bothered. Shame really as its a fairly big space. There does not appear to be much that goes on at night (this didn't bother us with having a child with us) but if you're looking for night life then go into town.

We had a lovely holiday and we would return to Cay Beach!!

if you want a quiet relaxing break this is for you. rooms very good < swimming pool very good .biggest down side bar area having to wait for drinks cannot blame staff as having do up to 3 jobs at a time. food is good but to much the same everyday.everywhere very clean but there seems something missing like a nice bar area to sit & have a relaxing drink in the evenings.for one
