Wonderful food and service. Nothing was too much trouble and we thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience here. We have dined here both times we have come to Broadbeach and will continue to come back.

“Authentic italian food.”
Reviewed May 7, 2013

It's a busy place and choosing a restaurant around here offers about three or four italian choices. For a Birthday party we were heading to Mario's. The food has a truly authentic italian style....not much modern fusion happening. But that is actually why I liked it. Pasta as it should be, flavours and sauces as you remember good old fashioned italian sauces should be. Portion sizes are HUGE! I am so glad I ordered an Entree size of the prawn and crab spaghetti. It was a normal main size and I dread to think how bit the main size would have been! Lots of prawns, crab was harder to detect, lots of garlic, wine and creamy flavours. It was good and very filling. Everyone else on the table raved about their pizza's and pastas. The only think is the prices aren't that cheap. And for traditional italian pasta that was a bit of a surprise. :/ The theme of the decor is chitzy italian with vines and fresco's everywhere....but that is sort of perfect too. Staff were numerous and friendly. And the Birthday girl got her cake delivered by 6 staff all booming out the happy birthday song.

“Good service, good atmosphere, and huge servings!”
Reviewed May 6, 2013

Our family of five dined here last Thursday night , while on holiday, and we really enjoyed it. The food was overall good Italian classics, very generous servings, but a little on the pricey side which probably is due to the location. We were impressed by the service of all of the waiters, who were prompt and friendly ....keep it up guys! It makes a real difference. The atmosphere was good and the restaurant was full so would recommend booking first.

“Perfect Sunday Lunch”
Reviewed May 6, 2013

After being left wanting the previous evening and instead of a late breakfast, we decided to enjoy lunch at Mario's on our way home.

The breadth of the menu and the eagerness of the very kind staff were probably the two key elements to what was a relaxed, and filling, dining experience.

The kind waiter we had ensured that the food arrived on time, and when wine was ordered with the mains, that fresh wine glasses were obtained from the kitchen.

We ended up sharing the tortellini and the chorizo gnocchi, together with a Tasmanian pinot noir and side anchovy pizza. Altogether probably too much food for a Sunday lunch, but with nothing else planned for the afternoon, it made for an enjoyable feed.
