After trying so many times to get a place to stay at this resort we finally did.
I was VERy disappointed as it was not at all like the rooms you see on the websites.
The 2 bedroom we stayed in was dirty, had old beds, bed covers felt and smelt horrible, door knobs and taps kept falling off and the dishwasher kept leaking.
I did complain to reception about the falling door knobs and taps but they only fixed the ones we complained about. As soon as they were fixed the others would fall off.
Another thing I found annoying was the fact that you can only check in after 2pm and yet the cleaners hadn't finished cleaning. Why do they make you leave at 10 am then?
Like I said I was totally disappointed with this 4 star resort as I have always wanted to desperately to stay here and it was not up to scratch as far as I'm concerned.
And for the price they charge to stay there you expect it to be at least clean and all things working properly.
I would definately NOT recommend this resort to my friends or family. If they do decide to book there they should make sure they see pictures of the room first.
I will say though that the swimming area is magnificent.

We stayed at the resort for 8 nights. We're a family of 5 including 3 kids aged between 6 and 10. We had a 3 bedroom apartment. The plus was the large size - one level had kitchen, living, dining, bathroom and 2 bedrooms, with the main bedroom and 2nd bathroom on the next level. The negatives were the 3 flights of stairs to get to the apartment and the age of the apartment. (A lovely tribute to the 80's with peach coloured bathroom suites). Overall it the cleaniless was fairly average.

The walls in the bathrooms and main bedroom were dirty, and the bathrooms in general showed their age (discoloured tiles and grout etc). Staff were efficient but not overly friendly. The first morning plugging in the toaster blew a fuse so half the lights/power points went out. But the toaster was replaced that day no problem at all, as were a couple of light bulbs that blew a couple of days later. Although it was very spacious attention to detail was absent. There was a huge dressing room upstairs but no chest of draws for storage. Likewise there was no where to hang up towels in the bathrooms. The beds were comfortable and the bedding clean. As we stayed 8 nights our room was serviced (towels and sheets replaced) on day 4 which was a pleasant surprise. If you stay for 7 nights or less then don't expect a service. What the resort does have going for it is the fantastic pool area and the location to the beach (2mins walk), Pacific Fair and Broadbeach shops (10mins walk). It is also handy to the Kurrawa Surf Club that do great meals. If we stay again I would make sure we got a refurbished apartment.

We have recently spent 6 days at Diamond Beach resort and we loved it. The accomodation was clean, neat and suitably contained tropical cane decor. The beds were very comfortable as were the furnishings,we had 2 balconies, 2 bedrooms, private court yard and 2 bathrooms, separate lounge and dining/kitchen areas. The resort seemed to be 1/3 full and it was very private and quiet. The pools are amazing and very large, we went early each morning to enjoy the hot outdoor spa and rock cave and to avoid the tweens that engulf the pool during the day. Fantastic location across from the beach and just down the road from Surfers Paradise. This is perfect accomodation for young famillies. Our only complaint would be that my little 5 year old and I got conjunctivitis which we "think" we may have got from the spa & rockpool. Overall we had a great time.

Other than the ugly decor, out dated paintings, the cock roach running across the floor in the morning, the smell of urine coming from the drains in the bathrooms, the dishwasher tipping over when it was stacked! The shower door breaking off and the rooms being so dark you had the lights on continously, the shower going cold after 5 mins and the spa pool being over loaded with kids and there being no Adult spa it was ok i guess????

I wouldn't recommend this hotel to people who like to get there moneys worth , i was sadly dissapointed even after emailing the hotel directly to ask if the rooms where refurbished regularly as i had seen bad reviews but was willing to give it a go anyway.

Silly me i will be taking Trip advisor reviews a little more seriously from now on. I learnt my lesson here.

Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel! We had a two bedroom apartment, well appointed, spotlessly clean and best of all away from the hustle and bustle of the more frenetic Surfers Paradise without being more than a bus ride away.
Great place and we had a great price too!
Well worth the money.

Our family of 2 adults and 2 young children have just stayed in a 2 bedroom unit in January and had a renovated apartment which was clean and in excellent condition. The location was perfect for us, overlooking one of the lagoon pools. The kids loved the pools and spa and spent most of their day there. The resort is handy for Pacific Fair or walking into Broadbeach. True there is no air conditioning but it wasn't too hot while we were there and the ceiling fans seemed to work quite well. Perhaps its the luck of the draw what apartment you get so try and ask for a renovated one.

We stayed 7 nights in a three bedroom apartment with my 70 year old mother-in-law, my husband and three children aged 6, 4 and 2. It is a large resort with approximately 150 to 200 apartments surrounding the pools. I selected this place because of the lagoon pools -best pools on the Gold Coast, and the close proximity to Pacific Fair and to the beach. There are two small heated themed baby / toddler pools, one large heated pool, two smaller swimming lagoon pools, one cold spa and one heated cave spa (which my mother-in-law thought was absolutely fantastic - undercover cave spa). The pool and grounds are very well kept. However our second floor accommodation (no lifts, no air conditioning which wasn't a drama because there were fans and by the time it was 6pm the lovely breeze cooled the apartment with the fans) had major challenges. Even though it was a lovely 'looking' three bedroom, two bathroom, two balcony apartment with fans, dishwasher, washing machine which was very well cleaned (cleaning was very good), during our stay:
- The screen on the main balcony came off its rails
- The screen on the second balcony came off completely - nearly missing me
- Two blinds came down / collapsed
- washing machine missing stopper on one of legs causing washing machine to keep going unbalanced
- hot water tap in main bedroom ensuit shower came off
- broken staps on couch (thus we couldn't sit on the couch)
tap in main bathroom wouldn't turn off (had to turn water off for 24 hours in kitchen and ensuit while waiting for plumber)

However, Repception were good and had great 'fail and fix' processes in place. We had four maintenance men through the apartment fixing things up during our stay.

But, with all those challenges, I would DEFINATELY stay here again. Why - fantastic fantastic pools. Only 7 min walk to Pacific Fair, only 3 min walk to lovely beach. Parking on-site. When something broke, they got it fixed.

NOTE: If you have a top (third floor apartment), you will encounter stairs. So if you have mobility issues / small children, ask for a ground floor (or second floor) apartment. This resort is also owned by MFS (Stella Resort) which was reported last month in The Austrlian that it was risking collapse - so interested to see if they sell this resort? (Which may explain the lack of maintenance - and only incorporating 'fail and fix' processes in their apartments. Pools very well kept however with pool staff every single day working on the pools.

Will visit again.
