Great pool and BBQ are but thats it.

ROOM old and outdated - door broken - one lock on main bedroom wouldn't lock.

NO AIR CON - NO AIR CON

Crappy furniture , bad beds etc

Great security and location but that's it

We're really pleased that we chose Diamond Beach resort for our family of fours foray to the Gold Coast. Although we read some mixed reviews, we opted for Diamond Beach due to low-rise, great pools, proximity to beach (500m at a guess?) and a short walk to Pacific Fair and the Surfside Buses to the theme parks. We had a level 1, 2 bedroom and it was furnished at a smart hotel level, much better than i expected. The very pokey, 80's bathrooms were the only let down, and a minor one when you consider the time spent there! We greatly enjoyed G & T's on the balcony, shaded and framed by the palm trees, that overlooked the pool. Very restful outlook. We all enjoyed the lagoon pool heated to a just warm temperature. The resort more than satisfied the needs our 11 and 3 year olds. This is very much a family resort of course, and we laughed at any poor sucker without kids staying at the Diamond Beach! We noticed a lot of extended family groups and groups of friends at the resort, which I think would only enhance the vibrant fun atmosphere at this resort. In the end we thankfully decided to visit only 2 theme parks in our 6 days. Dreamworld was a good alrounder for our age groups but we found Seaworld a litle less commercialised and 'plastic' and far more pleasant theme park. We found the Surfside buses perfectly adequate transport.

This is the second visit to this resort. Last time, seven years ago, the resort was good although a little expensive.

We stayed this time in a three bedroom appartment prebooked and paid for . Two weeks duration.

The appartment was disgusting.

Under one bed spiderwebs which were covered in dust hung to the floor. Our nine year old daughter had a spider in her bed the first night which set things of nicely. NOT

Thick dust hung off all the light fittings and was present in cupboards and was thick along the edges of all the walls on the carpet. On one wall in the main bedroom someone had sprayed either tea or coffee over about a square metre. The stain had dried and no one had bothered to clean it.

We asked to be moved but all that they had available was just as bad.

We also asked if we could leave the resort and they were willing to refund our prepayment but unfortunately we could not find another place to go as it was a very busy period.

This resort is advertised as being up market. And to be fair the pool is great but we spend more time in the appartment than the pool.

Overall a very tired and untidy room. The owners need to spend some money on updating the appartments and inspect the work their cleaners are doing.

No where near value for money.

I have just stayed here with my wife and 17mth old daughter, and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
To be honest, I was apprehensive after reading previous reviews, BUT we were pleasantly surprised. Obviously I can't comment on all rooms, but ours was fine and everything worked and above all it was all very clean (for which I am a stickler). Sure, parts are getting a little tired from wear and tear......but considering the traffic that these apartments must see, i'd say that the one we had is holding up very well indeed and very well soundproofed. The pool complex was excellent for all ages and the location is second to none.....beach is about 250mtrs and Pacific fair about 600mtrs.
Only negative would be noisey water pipes and no hot water at 5.30pm on two days..........However, we will be back!!

We stayed at Diamond Beach during the school holidays. Our apartment was tired and in dire need of renovation. I am sure this property was very good in its prime but that is some time ago. The staff at reception were generally unhelpful and they are clearly more interested in texting and chatting to each other than they are in helping anybody.
On the positive side, the pools are great and our kids (5 and 8) loved them. The resort is in a very good spot with excellent access to the beach and shopping but far enough away from the Gold Coast Highway that it is not affected too much by traffic noise as many apartments in the Broadbeach area are. It would be good for those for don't have a car.
Diamond Beach is not worth the premium they charge but if having great pools and good BBQs are more important to you than the quality of the apartments, then it is worth a look.
