“avoid unit 50 AGAIN”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 12, 2012

My husband and I stayed in unit 50 for five nights and totally agree with the comments made by bruce g. During our stay the bedroom curtain rod came away from the wall (rusted away?) allowing half the window to be uncovered. We were in one of the east facing units. Reported to reception early in the morning, again later in the morning as we were going out and told rather curtly "if it is on the list it will be fixed". Arrived back 4:45pm, office closed and find nothing done.Rung reception and finally had someone have a look. Told he would have to make temporary repairs which, we were OK with as it was about 6pm by then. When asked what we should do about morning sun told to use pegs. We were out early the next day for the day and when arriving back in the evening found nothing done. Same thing next day. We realise people get busy and we tried to make allowancese for this but,at $160 per night we will not stay there again.

We were very disappointed with Unit 42. It is badly in need of refurbishing. The settees are old, disintegrating, stained and smelly. The bed cover is also old and stained and one of the curtains is torn. The paint around the windows and sliding doors is peeling. Debris falls from the extractor vent into the bath and the bathroom sink taps are missing the hot/cold indicators.
On the plus side the views are great (spoilt by the dirty windows), the beach is just across the road and shops and restaurants are within walking distance.

Room Tip: Ask for a recently refurbished unit.

My husband & I recently stayed with friends at Boulevard Towers. The position is absolutely marvellous, across the road from the beach and an easy walk to The Mall at Oasis. The apartment we shared had recently been refurbished - new furniture, bathrooms and laundry.

The apartment had a south-easterly aspect, enjoying views of the beach, down to Coolangatta and west to the Hinterland. I wouled not recomment a northerly apartment as they become far too hot, as do the east facing apartments.

The tennis court is in the process of refurbishment, but the pool and BBQ areas are second to none.

We were greeted by a friendly team at reception.

We will definitely return, and will request Apartment 13 once again.

Room Tip: Rooms on the south are definitely cooler but still enjoy the morning and afternoon sun.

stayed w/end of 10/12/2011. unit 50 good view 13th floor.unit not clean. crockery cupboard, dishwasher & sink smelled of old prawns.it seems whoever owns this unit doesn't care about there guests a mixture of utensils bought from a garage sale? a stove so dirty we did not cook any thing at all. in my opinion this unit is 2star at best & overpriced. also the car park is poorly lit & constantly wet. never again. bruce g.

We recently stayed with the Boluevard Towers and can't fault our stay. When we arrived at the Boluevard towers after hours following a dismal search for an apartment complex that would open up for us, the manager of Boluevard Towers went out of his way to accommodate us. We were given a lovely clean, modern, spacious and well equiped 2 bed, 2 bathroom apartment with the added bonus of being beachfront with a magnificient view from our apartment. The area was quiet with the only noise coming from the rolling waves of the ocean. The complex was well equiped with 2 pools, a spa, tennis court, barbeque area and secure off-street parking. Service was fantastic and I will definately stay again on my next visit to the gold coast.

I have stayed here previously and was happy with the hotel on that occasion also. I notice there are some negative reviews so I guess if you are unlucky (or check in late when they are full), you may get a dud room. However, that has not been my experience.

Rooms have great views facing the ocean. The hotel is separated from the beach by one road only. So the beach is only 1 minute walk away. The Broadbeach shopping centre is 5 to 10 minutes walk away. So not too far away, but many other hotels are closer to the shopping centre. If you want the beach, no other hotel is closer. If you want to go to cafes and restaurants 3 times a day, you may want to pick a hotel that is closer to the shopping centre.

My apartment was clean and full of light. A pleasant place to be. Service was average. My room rate was very reasonable. A 2 bedroom apartment for $120 per night. I think with the GFC, room rates on the Gold Coast have dropped somewhat. I'm sure room rates were higher 4 years ago before the GFC.

There are many places to choose from in Broadbeach and Surfers Paradise. I'm sure you could do a lot worse than stay here. I go to the Gold Coast a couple times every year and would consider staying at the Boulevard Towers again.

We chose this place due to its location and great reviews overall. However, I would not rate this apartment complex as a 4 star- probably 3.5 at most.

When we arrived we were greeted with a friendly face and were happy enough with our room. It overlooked both the beach and the pool area (facing North) so we were lucky in that respect. However on closer inspection of the room we noticed mould in the fridge and mildew all over the walls (especially behind the curtains in both bedrooms but mainly in the bedroom where our children were sleeping). I asked them to clean the fridge and walls- this took them 3 days which is just unsuitable.

Most of the furniture throughout the main living areas was quite modern, yet the furniture in the bedrooms was old and cheap. Parts of the rooms had been renovated like the kitchen and bathrooms, yet it appears as they have reused what they can from the old bathrooms/kitchen such as door handles which were rusting away. The shower in the ensuite also was temporamental with the pressure and the shower head was broken.

The curtains throughout the apartment were badly stained and dusty and the light fittings had flies in them. The walls had marks all over them and could honestly do with a simple clean and paint job. The sheets were clean, yet the bedspreads were stained. Just spring cleaning and maintaining these 'little' things on a regular basis would easily turn this place into a 4 star facility. The beds, as a previous person has commented on, were also very firm and the pillows much too high (especially for the children).

They do provide a starter pack of washing detergent, tea and coffee etc which is great as some apartments do not do this. They also provide towels and hand towels (1 towel per person, 1 hand towel per bathroom), yet they do not provide facewashers?! On asking at the desk if they had any we were told to go to Coles to buy some!

Apart from the initial nice greeting when we arrived we felt staff had little people skills from there on in and were not very friendly when we left 10 days later.

On the upside this place has everything kitchen-wise you will need and has two lovely (small) pools, a spa and bbq area. My children already miss the pool and spa!!

It is also within great walking distance of Broadbeach mall, local eateries, the surf club, and a leisurely 30 minute walk up into surfers. It is also only a short stroll across the road to the beach.

This apartment complex is well priced, however the saying is that you get what you pay for!

To make this a more suitable place for families I think a small playground would be ideal. Also be wary that the desk is not open all the time and is only open in the mornings on weekends.

Room Tip: Ask for a renovated room facing the north side overlooking the pool and make sure you check it for m...
