Duncan and I decided to stay overnight instead of driving directly home. Didn't want to leave the coast.i always use Trip Advisor to help decide but there were more than one that seemed good. we stopped at an estate agent who recommended Absolut Beach. Lovely. Beach accommodation and friendliness 10/10! Interesting artistic family. Walk out of your room onto the beach.

We really enjoyed our 3 night stay at Absolute Beach. Its just over an hours drive from Cape Town if you dont stop along the way, making it the perfect escape.

The rooms are really clean and comfortable, the views are great. The absolute beach team has thought of all the little things, the small touches making the experience that much more special. The service was warm, friendly and personal, making each guest feel welcome and comfortable.
Small and intimate with fantastic access to the beach, highly recommended unless you are looking for something more private.

The perfect base to explore the West Coast from, with many attractions an easy day trip away. The beach is quiet, beautiful and very cold.
Breakfasts are hearty and sociable with all the guests at one table - with fantastic views of the ocean.

Room Tip: For privacy avoid the 2 rooms right next to the braai area - while we were there we had no problem, but it could be uncomfortable if there were people braaing and you were just next door.

Staying at Absolute Beach is a treat. A great welcome by the hosts including home made caramelized nuts a personalized letter on the bed made me comfortable from the beginning. The view from the room is absolutely amazing and makes the stay very relaxing. Breakfast is good, but not exceptional and it is not easy to find restaurants close by for lunch or dinner. I will definitely be back to relax some more!

We were extremely disappointed that we had left it too late to secure B&B accommodation in Paternoster and therefore opted for Absolute Beach in Britannia Bay as a kind of “second best”. How wrong we were!! Visist Paternoster during the day - have a great lunch but then hot-foot to this place as quickly as you can. It is charm personified. We were given a very warm welcome by Ria who showed us to our beautiful beach front room (room 3) and introduced us to the communal lounge / Kitchen area and plunge pool . Our room was beautifully presented – comfortable bed, good sized bathroom with great shower, good storage, hospitality tray with thoughtful extras and best of all double doors leading onto a small patio with table and chairs. We had the most wonderful afternoon and evening (the beach is fine for swimming but if in doubt seek Duncan’s advise – he’s a daily “dipper”). Breakfast the next day was relaxed and plentiful and very good. The house is full of the family art work and the beauty of our hosts shone through at every touch and turn and we left knowing that we will see them again on our next 2015 trip to South Africa. One useful tip for future guests. The local restaurants for dinner seemed few and far between. Buy suppliers at the big Pick and Pay in Vredenburg or the local Spar near the Absolute Beach (I think it’s in St Helena) The communal kitchen has a large fridge and freezer and plenty of crockery and cutlery. There’s a braai area in the garden, so spark up the braai, pop on a couple of steaks, open a bottle and chill out on our patio. Happy Days! Whatever you do, enjoy this place. It’s a sin not to. Thank you Ria & Andries and Marina & Duncan

Absolute Beach has that real beach house feel to it, I almost want to say it feels like a luxury backpackers lodge on the beach…the rooms have lovely sea views and are literally on the beach, everyone at Absolute Beach from staff to other guests had a very laid back and relaxed attitude, what a comfortable beach house retreat…and what a lovely stay I’ve had. It’s a place for the young at heart or anyone with a bit of a “hippie” or artistic soul.

The layout of Absolute Beach and its rooms allow for mingling amongst guests but if that is not your thing then you don’t have to mingle with anyone, anything goes at Absolute Beach. It is all about relaxation and the comfort of its guests.

Britannia Bay where Absolute Beach is situated lacks that true West Coast charm and character you will find in Jacobsbay, Paternoster, Velddrif and Lambertsbay, but there is a lovely beach and coastline to enjoy and it’s in close proximity to all of the West Coast villages which you can go and explore on daily excursions.

Absolute Beach gets thumbs up from me!
