We really liked Cosy Corner Cottage. It's a charming, spotless, comfortable place to stay in the lovely village of Baslow. It's very well kitted out, warm and feels like a home away from home. You are very near the village shop, and a very nice pub. Slightly further afield there are plenty of beautiful walks, Chatsworth House, the rather special Fischer's restaurant - all still very much within walking distance.
The owner Liz was excellent in communicating with us promptly and providing everything we needed.
The cottage has been furnished to perfection, everything had been thought of to make a perfect stay, Cosy in name, Cosy in nature!!!
Great location, within walking distance to Chatsworth estate and a Convenience store close by. We will visit again.
We stayed for a bank holiday weekend. It is a small cottage but perfectly formed with everything we needed for a great stay. Inside is modern and freshly decorated and someone has really thought about how best to use the space down to small details like the lighting. There is a well stocked kitchenette, dining table, sofa and comfy chair. Wine and Prosecco in the fridge for our arrival were a great touch.
Upstairs leads straight into the bedroom where there is the bathroom en-suite (clean with a good shower). Nice views from the windows. It served us well for 3 nights.
There is no parking attached to the property but you can park on a nearby road and it is less than a minute to walk between the cottages to reach Cosy Cottage. The path is stone and was quite slippery after some rain so something to bear in mind if you're unsteady on your feet.
Baslow is a good base to explore the Peaks. We come most years but had never stayed in Baslow before. We visited 3 pubs and ate out in the local Italian. There is also a hotel offering high end dining so something for everyone. Close to walks, close to Chatsworth, central in the Peaks. I would definitely recommend Baslow and Cosy Cottage to couples and singles.
Great cottage! The location was ideal, a short walk from the village shops, restaurants and pubs and an easy drive to all the places of interest. We would recommend Rowelys for dining out, however saw great reviews for all of the nearby pubs and restaurants. As it was our first visit to the Peak District we walked to Chatsworth, but there are plenty of walks which start from the village to suit all. The cottage had everything we needed and was beautifully kept. We had a lovely break and would love to return.
The cottage is accessed on foot up a lane of residential cottages. Parking is nearby. There are plenty of places to eat and drink within a short walk and a convenient Spar shop.
The cottage is well equipped and very nicely presented. The owner makes a considerable effort to make the cottage welcoming and to provide plenty of visitor information.
We thoroughly enjoyed our short break including a long walk straight from the cottage taking in the Curbar and Froggatt edges. We could easily not have used the car at all.
Had two lovely nights in Cosy Corner Cottage. Fabulous location in the lovely village of Baslow. Short walk to Chatsworth House and many other decent walks within very close range. Had a gorgeous meal in Il Lupo, the Italian restaurant- with the added benefit of strolling home after a decent bottle of red wine and post dinner limoncello. There are decent pubs, a great cafe and a handy village shop.Liz has the cottage immaculate and very welcoming complete with laden tea tray and milk in the fridge. It was hubby's birthday and she had so very kindly left him a bottle of chilled wine, so thoughtful. We would certainly love to return and highly recommend a stay at this adorable little gem. Thanks Liz!
Great location, great decor, great weekend! Warm cosy cottage in rural village location near Chatsworth, Bakewell, Chesterfield and Sheffield.
