My partner and I went to the Mud House as it was near where we were staying. It was a busy Saturday afternoon but the service we got was great from a friendly and knowledgeable waitress. The food was mixed, a great seafood chowder as one of the starters but a bland Roast Salmon main. The thing that caught our eye was the platter to share. We decided that we liked where we stayed and that on the way back up towards Picton we would cut across and treat ourselves to a nice bottle of wine and a platter at the mud house. It seems the good staff only work at the weekends. Dismissive and bored looking staff who didn't offer the wine menu and a pared down menu of about five items made for an uncomfortable twenty five minutes.
