A great bakery and cafe with plenty of spaces for a private chat or a bigger group meeting. Lovely food, great coffee and enjoyable.

I ordered a coffee and a toasted chicken sandwich, which came to about $13. I was given an electronic tag (not on my ankle I might add) which helps the staff find you without having to take your hot food on a tour before you get it. Great stuff.
The toasted sandwich came out first, followed by the coffee a couple of minutes later. That was great timing, as I don’t like my coffee before my food.
The toasted sandwiches are fantastic. More like a main meal, and very tasty, with fragrant “cumin seed” bread, and succulent hot chicken pieces and salad.

The place itself always looks so clean, something which I am quite appreciative of when I go out to eat. The staff are organised and know what they are doing, all very professional. If anything, the only downside was that the place was somewhat cold, which doesn’t help by my sitting opposite the huge glass entrance door which was constantly opening… but which is also a testament to the popularity of the place. A second door would be great, and would help keep the weather out better. The only other thing is, it can be a mare to find a parking place, as the small car park to the front of the building is just too small for the number of customers they get.

All in all it’s a fantastic bakery, a great place to have a coffee and food, has a fantastic array of cakes, breads and other goodies too. The building is airy, clean and modern. I’m sure no one could come away unsatisfied or disappointed. I would recommend it to anyone.

Thank you very much for taking the time to write your review and recommendation. We are delighted that you enjoyed your visit to Artisan Café. I will pass on your kind comments to our staff, who strive to make our customers feel at home and enjoy their visit. Thank you for the suggestion of a second entrance door, we are looking at plans to put a glass shield up to prevent the wind coming through on a strong Southerly day. We are also currently looking for alternative car parking options. Look forward to seeing you again soon.

Many thanks,

Usually go to Artisan when meeting a friend for lunch. As well as lovely cakes and pastries to tempt you there is a selection of soups fries etc if you feel like something more substantial.

Usually park away from premises as it is always so busy and a park is hard to come by.

There is also fresh bread and cakes to buy to take home and a frozen food section. There is also seating upstairs and a lift for the less mobile.

All in all reasonable price and good atmosphere.

We travelled from the UK to New Zealand and stayed with our recently emigrated family in Rangiora. We came in almost daily for bread (the choice is amazing) sandwiches (to die for) cakes (out of this world) pies (sensational) the banana and raspberry and pear bread (a tastebud explosion) and this is just what we bought, the choice is incredible, fairly priced and beautifully presented and a good frozen selection. For quality, choice, cleanliness, interior layout (upstairs and down) innovative washroom, childrens play area, the friendliest staff who could not do enough to help us and excelled in customer services, come and visit Aritsan, it is absoutely the best bakery and coffee shop we have ever been to. Wish there was a branch here in the Peak District, Derbyshire., UK. A massive thankyou to all the team, it was an absolute pleasure to visit you.
