This museum is really interesting and we spend a happy hour or so there, looking round. It has displays about Sir Edmund Hillary and about the history of the Hermitage itself. Worth a look if you are in the area, and certainly something good to do if the weather is bad.

A great Centre, museum, hotel, restaurant, hiking trails, all in a spot of unprecedented beauty, with a great view of Mt. Cook. A long drive from Queenstown or Christchurch, but worth the drive.

I didn't expect to be so drawn in by this centre but I was. I think because we saw the documentary about his life. He was an amazing soul. Watching the doco of his life is a must its so moving, he did so much for the ppl of Nepal. I also bought his autobiography

An informative and interesting exhibition of explorers including sir Edmund Hillary. Many interesting artefacts but would have liked to have seen more information about their journeys, but all in all good for a free exhibition and worth a look around.
