How could you not love this place... Only the second sunny day in our three week trip, but we were blessed with the beautiful views of lake pukka I and Aoraki and took wonderfrul sunset shots.

So fortunate with our timing but we got a beautiful clear blue sky day to visit Mount Cook on and what a sight.

We visited 3 years ago and had remembered it being impressive but had forgotten just how impressive. One of those mesmerising natural wonders that you can spend hours just looking at and never grow tired of.

It really is worth the going out of you way for, you will not be disappointed. Quite simply my favourite thing to see in New Zealand.

Gorgeous Gorgeous Gorgeous! Definitely a must see/do while in New Zealand! Truly a highlight of the South Island. Love the Southern Alps!

We almost turned around and ate 200. hotel, but we stuck it out and wow! The rain was a great opp to watch all the movies, which really gave us a true appreciation a base knowledge of the area and why it's so special. The next morning, the universe cleared our skies and opened up the beauty that Hooker Valley Trail offers to the few that can make the 3 hour walk, at times a bit challenging for some who are not in good shape. Take good hiking shoes and go to the end! The life lesson I learned from this hike? Finish what you start and you'l be rewarded!

Drive through the valley, seeing the Southern Alps all around you, approaching snow capped mountains as you pass green fields, and then you see the dirt and the gravel and the rocks from the glacier - and you feel that human beings are just specks on this great earth.
