Cozy atmosphere and owners are extremely friendly. Very good food too, and beautiful views of Mount Cook and the surrounding area. I would definitely eat here if you are in Mount Cook.

We could not have been more pleased with our choice to cancel our reservation at the Panarama Room and dine here instead. Our meal was absolutely wonderful. Everything was fresh and presented nicely. The service and staff were wonderful, especially the owners who took the time to check in with each and every table. The atmosphere was casual and lively, which was perfect for the mountain setting. If you are ever in the Mt.Cook area, this is the place to try.

Menu was a little limited but pizza/salads are perfectly adequate for lunch. Drink selection could also be better. Feel they are missing out a bit on an opportunity given the fairly limited eating options in mount cook. Not somewhere I would recommend for dinner.

Sorry to hear that you considered dinner just average on this particular evening. I did visit each table and all seemed to be well. Please, if you're ever back this way, let us know at the time so we can sort anything non-optimum out on the spot. Kind regards Charlie and Mary

Stayed at the corporate megalith that is the Hermitage but refused to participate in the over priced buffet. So booked a table here on our first night and all was well. Food very good, service fine and the view (after the clouds parted) great. Second night the food was - sorry to say - rather Blaaaa! It might of been because it was a Sunday night? Manageress appreciated things were not as they should of been and we got our second drinks free - that was appreciated. Give it a go, though recommended you book a table. Would go again should I ever visit Mount Cook again.

Great food - burgers, local salmon, pizza's - cooked beautifully. service was really good and although we had to wait for about 20-30 minutes to be seated, the views of Mt Cook were stunning to watch while we waited with a drink. It's a very popular place, so either book a table, get there early or be prepared to wait. Prices on average are pretty good in comparison to other holiday destinations in NZ (my burger was $22 and used organic meat, tasted awesome). We went back and had a coffee 2 days later after we had walked to Mueller Hut and tasted good.

Wonderful that you enjoyed your stay and the food! Delighted that you appreciated the organic meat in the burgers too! It is so much better isn't it?! We see you're from Christchurch. Pop down anytime to your newfound Mt Cook home. Warmest regards, Mary and Charlie
