I've stayed at a lot of hostels but this was the tiniest room with 10 packed inside. No where to store your items safely. Not enough air either leaving me having to go outside to breathe in the night due to feeling claustrophobic... Just think it'd be better to sacrifice a couple of beds to allow for lockers. Not a big ask and pretty standard in other hostels. The kitchen only had two cookers. No where near enough for so many people. Had to queue to make my food every night. Café is a rip off too to say the coffee tasted pretty burnt... Pretty disappointed

I am very sorry about your disappointing stay with us. Usually our dormitory guests seemed to be happy with our 10 bunk dorm layout.
Our new cookers are ordered to avoid the queue at dinner time.

We stayed here for 2 nights. The location is a bit odd as its not really near anything else and a 15 minute drive from Mt Cook Village. The room itself was very nice and had everything you needed. The kitchen was well stocked and the bathroom was very convenient. Beds were super comfy. It's a shame that the good room was over shadowed by the fact that the walls were paper thin and every part of the floor creaked when anyone walked or moved resulting in 2 sleepless nights for all of us (and our neighbours who we thought were elephants). We even had ear plugs but they weren't enough to cover noisy neighbours. It's not a good combination where you have different cultures used to different time zones in this type of accommodation. There were no fans or anything that made noise in the room to help mask the noise either. I was charged $240 for a night so I consider that was very expensive for accommodation where you couldn't even sleep. If the noise could be controlled we would have been much happier.

Thanks a lot for your review.
We are very sorry that you had rather noisy neighbours. Our walls are standard motel unit walls which work fine if guests take into consideration their neighbours.
We are very happy though that you enjoyed the room layout, equipment and views.

I intended to stay for two nights, but after I've seen the meager facilities, the fact that the free Wifi was reduced to half An hour and all this for NZD 50,00 per night, I've only stayed for one night. My campervan needed power...

I'm sorry you didn't enjoy our holiday park.
Our facilities are great, fully equipped kitchen with all utensils, pots, cutlery and crockery. We have an enclosed BBQ Pavilion free of charge for all our guests and a new ablution block.
Unfortunately our WIFI reception is very limited out here so that we need to limit the free usage or else the WIFI wouldn't be able to cope.

Self contain cabin 9 has view of Mt Cook outside door on clear day n rabbits munching on grass outside kitchen window. Perfect scenery. Walls thin but lucky to have quiet neighbors. Wear waterproof shoes if walking the path to lake pukaki, need to cross streams, wonderful view near dusk. Most ex holiday pk stayed so far, wifi limited but sufficient kitchen appliances for self cooking so save $ fr eating at ex Mt Cook village
