Mount Cook Glentanner Park Centre
Reviewed January 31, 2014

Stayed at Glenntanner Park Centre for two nights to visit Aoraki/Mt. Cook National Park. Great quiet location with wonderful views to the mountains and lake, only a short drive away from Aoraki village. Restrooms and showers where good and clean, except some insects in the windows.

The location of the park is awesome, in the middle of nowhere, with some amazing scenery surrounding it. Even if it is so remote, the park has some decent facilities, which are clean and well maintained.

Arrival Day we had a lot of rain but waking up in the morning it was crystal clear and we had an amazing view on Mount Cook. Beautiful. The campsite was beautiful and the facilitys fine. We certainly can recommend the park if you want to go to Mount Cook.

Stayed in a 5 person cabin, which had recently refurbished, for 2 nights. Good clean accommodation with wonderful views. There was some noise from next door but it didn't annoy us. Everything you need in the kitchen and the bathroom had a very good shower. Excellent location.

Chosen originally for powered campervan site, but we saw the light and realised how terrible a road-tripin a campervan would be (so slow, you could walk faster). So we stayed in a self-contained unit instead. Room was warm, and well supplied. Restaurant was basic, but good food, and really friendly staff. Views of Mt Cook and Lake Pukaki were awesome (when the clouds lifted). 20mins drive to Mt Cook village, not too bad. Perfect location for helicopter trip too (which I've done previously = fantastic). Would recommend, and would stay again. :)

Kitchen and eatingroom was clean as like the dorm room. The beds are not the softest ones, but it was quite OK for one night. The shower rooms were clean and comfortable. It is a nice backpackers and campers resort with a beautifull lakeview and close to Mount Cook. I cant remember anything wrong and would stay there on another Trip again.

We stayed 3 nights in a basic unit at Glentanner and enjoyed our stay very much, The staff were really helpful and the facilities were clean and tidy. Some of the kitchen equipment was a little tired - for example a few elements on the stoves didn't work and also a toaster but in all other ways it was great. Awesome location - nice and close to plenty of great walks and a to die for view of the magnificent Aoraki on a clear day.
