We came across this beautiful place while driving to Lake Tekapo from Ashburton. It is situated high up along the main driving route with great views and a charming, friendly, rustic atmosphere. The coffee is awesome and the fresh homemade cakes are to die for. Just what we needed. There is a lovely gift shop which you won't be able to help yourself from buying something from. The service is fantastic. A must do in New Zealand.

This is a great place to stop near Fairlie for a coffee and cook or a meal. Great food and really good staff. Run by a husband and wife who are always willing to go the extra mile for the customers. Has a great family feel to the place. You can cosy up next to the roaring fire or sit on the deck overlooking the amazing four peaks. When you have finished you meal, explore the farm barn gift shop and pick up a great bargin.

Not only was the coffee and cake good, there were other things too: A lovely and friendly lady serving us, the outside seating in a garden setting, the views and ...the cute and cuddly cat! :-)

This place is a gem!!. We stopped for breakfast fairly early on route to Christchurch from Tekapo. The owner was so friendly and the place is warm and enviting. Everything is well presented and the attentionb to detail was appreciated. The sun streamed in through the windows and the view of the mountains is stunning. Our breakfasts were great. Eggs( bright yellow which indicates free range), excellent dry cured streaky bacon, plenty of fresh toast and very good coffee. The fire was roaring, there are games and books to be enjoyed and quite frankly we would have liked to have spent a few hours just enjoying the atmosphere. The gift shop is well stocked with some of the most unusual gifts and very tasteful choices. Even the little wild cat that visits looks like he would very much like to remain here!! We think we remember correctly that the owner's name is Emma. She is warm, friendly and a great cook.

Thank you for sharing your very special place with us. It was a highlight of our weekend away and nobody should drive past this place without setting aside enough time to enjoy it.
