We stayed in a cabin, which is a small hut with two sleeping rooms, a bathroom, a living room and a fully equipped kitchen. NOK 1250 for a night this was good value for money (staying one night). The cabin was clean, comfortable and well-equipped. Rooms are supposed to have beds for three persons, but the double bed is actually pretty small for two adults. The location is excellent for visiting the historic city, but probably not for the new center (which we didn't visit). Communication and the information on the Norwegian-only website are pretty poor, so we only learnt upon arrival that we had to pay for bedlinnen and towels (NOK 60, if I remember correctly) and for the optional final cleaning (NOK 200). WiFi access is free but you need to ask for a code at the reception.

This place is very poorly located. Overpriced and very basic. Rooms are tiny with no facilities. The shower was cold and not very powerful. Kitchen is not available and the canteen is only open during the morning. Staff weren't very helpful. Only good point was the tv room. Nothing else to do.

Let me start by pointing out that this is on the other side of a wide river from the actual town of Fredrikstad - if you got off at the bus station in the city centre you would have to walk half an hour to the ferry terminal, get a ferry across (just over £1), then walk through the Gamlebyen (old town), down a road for half a mile and then, and only then, would you have arrived. Consequently, this hotel is next to nothing. No supermarket unless you walk back up the road and get the ferry again.

However, for Norway, it is extremely cheap and it does have redeeming qualities. The staff are helpful even if they have to be summoned from the desk by a phone, and the rooms are clean (as are the shower facilities). There's not much in them (a sink, a mirror, a bed, a light) but when you're paying 250NOK (£23-24), you can't really complain.

I would recommend this hotel for one or two-night stopovers (as I did) rather than prolonged stays due to its distance from the town. It's great for walking to the Gamlebyen and picking up some antiques, but it's too far out to do anything else. There is a TV room to keep entertained, with a lot of English TV so it's not all bad.

It's out of the way - but it's the cheapest you'll get in the Ostfold region and only 20 mins to Rygge airport, which is especially handy for Ryanair passengers.

The one thing that the motell have that is positive is..... NOTHING.
The small rooms are very simpelt built and very noisy with no air ventilation or Tv.
Corridors are very loudly when you walk in it so everyone knows when you arrive.
Toilets and bathrooms is working sometimes and shares with everyone and are sometimes very dirty with no papers left.
Same is it with the kitchen in the basement where everyone is cooking there food with the same equipment, if you unlucky.. they steel your food in the fridge who everyone can use and keep there food in it.
Cleaning your clothes can you do down here..BUT the staff use it to cleen there own cleaning equipment which they use many many times in bathrooms or corridors.
Many times have the police come bye and arrestet people who are to drunk and noisy.

And for a bonus when its raining outside... Then It will raining inside in the corridors because they have a nice hole in the roof .

The people who worked there was really nice, but everything else was just terrible. The rooms smelled weird and the furniture in the room was really old and ugly. The room wasn't cleaned when we came there, but they cleaned it when we asked. There were bathrooms in the corridors, in the bathroom there were three toilets but only was usable. It was a good location, even though it was just next to a camentery. It wasn't worth the money and I would never reccomend anyone I know to go there. Maybe I should say that we found a (used) condom in our bed, in the middle of the night, that was kind of the worst thing that happened..The breakfast that they offered wasn't good either. There weren't enough of parking spots.
