My husband and I dined at Las Camelinas 3 times during our 2 days in Uruapan; we kept returning, because the food was so outstanding. Trout is a specialty of this region, and the trout at Las Camelinas was great; stuffed with a vegetable mixture & delicious sauce, and covered with macademia nuts, which are grown in profusion around Uruapan. Another time I ordered salmon carpaccio (was not very hungry) and it was amazing; delicious, beautifully presented with toast points. so good that I ordered it again the next day & was equally great. There are 2 restaurants at the Hotel Plaza; Las Camelinas is the "international cuisine" restaurant; La Placita is the regional cuisine one. So make sure you choose the one you are really looking for. La Placita is where breakfast is served to hotel guests, and it, too, was very good. Service at both restaurants was very nice.
