Great location for this area. Quiet and scenic(when it is not cloudy). Nice rooms, but shower needs to have more pressure. Excellent plentiful breakfast. Hostess was very helpful in providing information about the area - sent us off the beaten path - and was excellent venture.
Area is beautiful and a "must" is the Kylemore Abbey. Abbey entrance is disappointing, only access to a few rooms, but the gardens make up for the abbey. Abbey structure is VERY impressive, would like to have seen more of the interior.

Room Tip: Ask fr a room that has a "good" shower. That was our only complaint. We arrived unannou...

We arrived out of the blue but were welcomed handsomely! After showing us our room refreshments were served in the very delightful lounge. We were given an excellent recommendation for bar food which also took us along a very picturesque drive. We were fortunate to be among a very congenial group of guests and spent a very pleasant evening with them and the hosts. Our first but not our last stay here!

Our stay here was simply divine. This was made apparant in the first few minutes of our unannounced visit. Like a true Irishman, I was gasping for a cup of tea and I duly requested one as we brought our luggage into a very cosy bedroom. In an instant a delightful tray of tea and scones were sitting ready for us in the lounge. The china delph was added bonus as we quenched our thirst. Then the first bite of the scones with a little jam hit my taste buds and memories of old Ireland flooded my mind. This was baking at it's finest, the way scones always tasted back in the day of my youth when quality was a way of life, and not a way to make a living.
Noreen was the lady of the house and a gracious one at that. Nothing was too much to ask and the house and it's surroundings were spotlessly kept. A haven of pure delight.

On our road trip through Ireland we were delighted to discover the beautifully located Ben Breen House B&B. During two weeks of staying at different B&Bs almost every night, the stay at Ben Breen's was certainly among the nicest experiences - a very friendly welcome by the hosts, particularly nice and tidy rooms, a rich breakfast menu, suggestions and help on what to do in the surroundings.... Excellent!

Clean, nice rooms in a house with beautiful views of mountains and lakes! The hostess Noreen and her family were warm and welcoming. We were offered tea and coffee when we arrived at 8:30pm with no reservation, dinner reservations were made for us right away in nearby Cleggan so we didn't miss our chance to have dinner before they stopped serving food for the evening, and in the morning, Noreen directed us to a lovely country walk that ended at a beautiful beach. They also called around to numerous other B&Bs when travelers stopped after Ben Breen was full for the night. Discounted tickets to Kylemore Abbey and other attractions available. Great stay!

We spent two nights here - Noreen and family are wonderful hosts! Very helpful in places to eat and tour. Good Breakfast. Enjoyed a traditional peat fire in the sitting room with Noreen's 12 year old son. A young Irish gentleman who was very willing to answer our questions about the Peat Bogs and the turf fire he built for us.

Room Tip: both ground and 2nd floor rooms available. better internet on ground floor

This was a really nice place and possibly the cleanest home I have ever been in - it was immaculate! It was also really comfortable and although there seemed to be a lot of guests, it was very quiet. Noreen recommended the Sky Road which was really worthwhile as we witnessed a beautiful sunset.
