Just remarkable and absolutely worth the visit. If you love anything cultural or natural then you really can;t miss this.

The beaches are absolutely beautiful, the one with the main sand sculptures required an entrance fee but wasn't a huge amount. Despite it being late in the year the beach was busy, expect people to flock in the summer. We went in Autumn and still enjoyed swimming and beach based activities. If you are planning a few hours at the beach take a cooler with drinks and snacks with you, the shops are basic....ah, and if a guy dressed up as the monkey king asks for a photo he is after money.

The Island with the bridge to Zhoushan Island easy accessible. Open theatre, porcelain factory and shop, many good view points, to visit the beach one must pay more then 10$.

Maybe it was once very good attraction of Zhujiajian but it's not the case now. Most sand sculptures are damaged and the larger ones overgrown with weeds...It's a pity that locals do not appreciate them...many kids and adults were climbing the sculptures and were trying to damage them even further. I don't recommend this place. Not worth 75 yuan/person...

Interesting place to get to. Two boat journeys were required, one to Zhoushan and then a high speed boat to Putuoshan. The place is easy to get around but I was irritated that at every building a fee was required. Some very obviously devout pilgrims were there but to many false monks and money making operations abound. For the foodies the sea food is unusual.. including live baby octopus,, and expensive. But the vegetarian restaurant in the temple was great value.
Its better to stay in Zhoushan rather than on Putuoshan [so expensive]. Try the local wildberry wine on Zhoushan..goes down like cider but packs a hell of a punch.
