We didn't arrive at the hotel until 12pm but they were still able to produce a selection a tapas dishes!
The room was large with a comfortable bed and nice surroundings, however the TV was old and didn't seem to work, but the rest was very good
Nice shower but breakfast was bizarre as you were given a me u and had to order from that, but was good when it arrived.
Overall nice place to stay and very helpful

I visited Olivenza and i choosed Palacio Arteaga to stay. I have found it a cozy place to spend a night.
The only thing that really anoyed me was the fact that they forgot my wake-up call. (they told me: "no se preocupe, caballero!" and i just trusted them! bad choice!) I could have visited more places (that closed early) and because of that i was not able to do it.
Regarding the staff they are friendly but some of them are not workers for 4*. (Sorry!)
About the rooms they were a little bit noisy and with a little bit of dust, but nothing big.
Concerning the price it was ok but the price that i payed was higher than in the internet... funny thing!

We would have expected MUCH more from this hotel...
Two nights there, two mornings shower with COLD water. Impossible to reach the reception by phone (always busy) and when we complained, the staff said they were sorry but all rooms were busy and there was nothing they could do (?!).
Long wait at breakfast, there is one girl that does the receptionist and tries to serve all people sitting there waiting to be served (incredible).
Gave them a suit to be ironed and we got it back one hour after the fixed delivery.
It is a beautiful place (especially the patio where breakfast is served) but PLEASE update ALL services to the 4 stars you are claiming to have!!

A welcoming hotel in a beautiful building on a pedestrian street in the centre of Olivenza (park your car in the Plaza de España, a few minutes walk away). The hotel has a bar, breakfast area, and restaurant, very comfortable rooms, and the staff are attentive and friendly. There is no minibar, but drinks are brought to your room on request (bottled water is free). We paid 90 euros for b&b in January, which while not cheap seemed reasonably good value for the quality of room and service we obtained – the breakfast was especially good. There are lots of bars and restaurants: we recommend the Taberna La Rala in the road behind the hotel (this place has exceptional tapas and range of local wines), the Restaurant Dosca a few minutes away in Plaza de la Constitucion (we were happy with our meal there, with friendly service and again excellent local red wine), and maybe the Palacio Arteaga restaurant itself (next time we will try this). Olivenza itself, so recently Portuguese rather than Spanish, has a distinctly different feel from other towns in Extramadura. There are several interesting places to visit (the Palacio will provide details and a map), but most of all don´t miss the stupendous Manueline architecture inside the church of La Magdalena. Outside the town you can drive 12km to the ruined Ajuda Bridge, and try walking along the Rio Guardiana north of Villarreal. Olivenza makes an excellent alternative to staying in Badajoz.
