For Kids & older babies (ours are 3, 2 and 3 months) the play area and staff is great and the swimming pool/ pirate’s water park is also a high light.
Although for one full day the small heated Jacuzzi/swimming pool was cold and also the bubbles never worked

Even though they start with the baby care at 4 months, the Play area staff was very kind to look after our 3-month-old daughter, who was sleeping, while we had dinner. And said if they don't have many kids we are welcome to leave her with them.

Food is ok, good if you don't want to put on weight; you are not tempted to over eat. For the Kids the lunch buffet was quite poor in veggies and the ones they had and I tasted where not very good. Not the food I want to give my kids for a week.

Dining area was ok, but not top, you didn't feel you were in a really nice restaurant. Seats at the restaurant were not clean The table had a card with our name on it, indicating that it was our family table for the hole stay. The card got some tomato sauce stains on the first dinner and it was never replaced; please... what restaurant keeps filthy cards for 4 days on the table? No drawing books or pens, just on request.
Many of the dishes available at the buffet were old and heavily used; porcelain was not even white anymore.

You get the activities leaflet only day by day in the morning at breakfast, you cannot plan like that, so maybe there was a bike tour at 10 that you would have liked to attend but it’s 9:30 and your Kids are still having breakfast.

A very poor choice of newspapers and magazines at the lounge and it is not really inviting to stay there, since you have to get your drinks one floor up or you get them at the bar and pay. Ridiculous that you have to pay 2 euros for an espresso when you pay already 300 euros per night, and meals and non alcoholic beverages are included.

Glad we only stayed 3 nights and not the whole week they always requested on previous times we tried to book there. I was ready to leave the first day. I was expecting something much better for the price and since it is part of the leading family hotels. We had already several very good experience at the Kinderhotel Alpenrosein Lermoos and we were expecting no less.

Rooms: ok, if it is a 3 Star hotel, but this is supposed to be 4 Stars, no body lotions or conditioner, cotton pads, etc.. make sure not to forget them at home because they will offer you a 200ml lotion for 20 EUR. But don’t forget baby swim diapers, because that they don’t sell.

No baby appliances in the room (toilet seat, changing table, dipper bags, etc..) I actually found the changing mattress in the cradle with no cover. Not very welcoming. So I put it on the only available table in the room and covered with a towel.. why do I have to do that if I'm paying for a nice leading Kinder-hotel. Also we had to ask for the bathrobes for the Kids, they should be in the room already.

In the Bathroom hooks for everything are missing. You go to the swimming pool but no place to hang swimwear and towels. Plastic glasses in the room, c’m on 4 stars?

On the corridor, left-overs from the room service stayed there for more than 12 hours. And our son every time we passed by was trying to put his fingers into it. Kids do that. That’s why you don’t leave things laying around, specially food.

No changing tables in all the hotel bathrooms, so you have to go to your room to change your kids. On the second day I notices that the Kids toilet in the Play area had not been cleaned from the day before.... throughout the day they did clean it. Having small children that go by them selves to the toilet and sometimes not that well...those bathrooms should be cleaned several times a day.

My husband was very disappointed with the fitness center. Beautiful room with lots of space but almost no machines. Just cycling and running and a ping pong table.

We left after breakfast, since in the brochure it says..our hospitality ends with the breakfast.... not very convenient if you have small children and want to drive on their nap time. But friends of us asked if they could stay over lunch and they said yes. So don't be afraid to ask.

On our departure my husband paid the bill and there was no asking if everything was ok, nice to have you...would be nice to see you again.... I guess they don't need you as a guest.

If you just look at the website, prices and brochure.... you get another impression. Unfortunately you are expecting the best.

Room Tip: i would only book there if it is really cheap

We spend a couple of days in the Löwe shortly after renovation. I booked a medium range two room suite that looked very spacious on the Web and I added as a surprise a pa treatment for my partner as it was his birthday (and indicated this clearly during the reservation). I was already surprised that I neither got a confirmation for the type of room booked nor a schedule for the treatment. Upon arrival, we were first told that we were downgraded due to unavailability of the type booked (no apology), then that we missed already one treatment, and finally that the next one was schedules at 8 in the morning next day. Needless to say that the cancellation of the treatments was also not very easy...

The rest of our stay was however rather enjoyable except that there was against proise no babysitting service available on Saturday evening (the day that seems to be typical to have no kindergarden offer in Austria).

Food in the restaurant was rather average, nothing very special or sophisticated.

The room (a small one with a double bed and a miniature one with a children bed) was very cramped and not inviting enough to be there more than for sleeping.

Overall, we were glad to only stay a couple of day and not the usual week that must be booked in this hotel.

We stayed at Baer the third time in as many years. Just fantastic! Service, food and the surrounding scenery are worth the return. The suites have now all been renovated and we loved the new ambience of it. A touch modern but still blending in wonderfully with the Tirol area every detail is well thought through. Although the kitchen may be a bit too much forbthe entire stay with 4 to 6 courses every night, the food is of highest quality. Highly recommended!

Went for a end of season ski week, and despite a few intial concerns with the ski school, we had a great time! The ski school is located at the top of the mountain so needed to leave an hour before lessons began to get there on time. Be aware that if you go later in the season there will be no snow in the village so lessons for the smallest children are up on the mountain - which is quite a trek for them. Hotel offers good service, excellent food and a fabulous kids club with a comfortable ambiance. The rooms are beginning to look slightly tired but are comfortable and spacious. The food is plentiful and varied, although the meals served in the kids club were disappointing. The spa was lovely, but strangely not open until 3pm and no members of staff around to show you how things worked which seemed a waste. Beauty treatments were expensive and ok but nothing special. A couple of minor complaints would be that tea & coffee were charged for, despite being on an inclusive full board package and that bed linen wasn't changed at all during the week. Given the price bracket this hotel falls into, we would have expected both of these! Overall would recommend if you have children and don't require your ski-ing on the doorstep!

We stayed at Hotel Baer the second time and it was again a fantastic experience. Service, facilities and surroundings are spectacular and will be hard to improve or beat. Our room was one of the few that had not yet been renovated and we are looking forward to the new style during our vacation at Hotel Baer next year. The best family Hotel when travelling with children.

We wanted to check this hotel out for a summer vacation and booked a long weekend in early April as a trial. We understood it was expensive but if they delivered the services advertised we thought it could be worth it. It truly was a disappointment.
When arriving we learned it was the last weekend of the winter season and that almost all services were unavailable. The kids club was closed for the season (only open the first night of arrival, the other nights and days we were on our own). Therefore the spa was not really available for us as it is for adults only. In order to try the spa we had to arrange a babysitter at our own additional expense. There was no lunch served at the day of departure as advertized as the kitchen was closed for the season. And despite numerous requests to talk to management we had no reaction whatsoever. He-she was always busy doing something and at one point we were told that he-she was busy doing office work and couldn’t’ find any time at all. The hotel itself was an absolute mess. Everything was being moved out of the hotel for spring cleaning and renovation so the elevator was constantly in use by the staff. We actually saw at one point trays of toilet brushes across from our room. The shower and radio was broken in our room. We found the entire experience a rip off. At 400 Euros per day you’d think you would get some kind of service. I feel duped. If anyone is aware of a good kinder hotel in Europe (love the idea), please post a response.

We just spent a week at the end of June at the Baer Hotel with our 5 1/2 year old son. It was a great vacation for all of us, and we each enjoyed it for different reasons.
The hotel is situated about a 7 minute walk uphill from the Hotel Post Bus Stop in the center of town. Behind the hotel was the start of many nordic walking trails and sweeping views of the town of Serfaus and surrounding mountains. The hotel was modern and friendly, and the front desk staff spoke decent English, along with some of the kids club employees. We stayed in an unrenovated family room, which was one of my only faults I found with this hotel. It was in desperate need of renovation, the carpets were well worn, then wood on all the furniture was in need of a refinish. The bathroom was very basic yet clean, and there was a TV and safe in the room. Our room did not have a mini fridge but apparently some of the renovated rooms do.
Meals were nicely prepared and the food overall was quite good. The salad buffet became slightly redundant but there was always a choice of 4 appetizers, soups, main course and dessert every night that you pre-chose the day before. Along with a very extensive salad and bread bar. And there was always a kids buffet featuring kid friendly meal options. There was a soft serve ice cream machine and all you could drink soft drinks (only Ahlmdudler, Fanta, and Sprite, Apple Juice, and water). Coffee was only served for free in the mornings at breakfast, otherwise you had to pay for it through the bar. Alcoholic beverages were reasonably priced. Some type of food was offered most of the hours of the day, with a very long snack time in the afternoons. We never felt like we would go hungry. Jarred baby food and Hippo brand formulas were on hand 24 hours a day with hot water available as well. We also noticed bibs and bouncy chairs available to babies.
Kids entertainment was top notch. Every morning at breakfast you received the days activities for young kids, older kids and adults. There was always an activity being held in the kids club from painting, to magic classes, and there were several organized hikes and excursions that the kids could have the option of going on. Our son was eager to attend it all and was very comfortable being in the room. There seemed to be lots of options for big and small, and they carefully took precaution to allow for the younger kids to play. The staff was superb and always knew our son by his name. There was a tight control on the entering and leaving of kids. Lunch, and afternoon fruit snack and dinner was on offer in the kids club, but the lunch and dinner menu was usually very basic and not that appealing to our son. Evenings around 7, the kids club would either rehearse for the end of the week kids show or show a movie. Our son would quickly eat with us at dinner while we enjoyed appetizers and then hurry off to spend the evening in the kids club while we enjoyed our meal. It was comforting knowing our child was in good hands while we as parents enjoyed alone time. Outside of the kids club in a public area was a game room full of 1 Euro video games, pin ball, table hockey and pool. You could get free ping pong rackets at the front desk. This seemed to be a popular spot for the teenagers in the evenings.
We swam at both the Baer and the Loewe hotels. You are allowed to swim at both. The Baer hotel pool is great for older kids (the indoor pool - we did not swim in the outdoor pool as it was still too cold outside). Our son was unable to stand in the pool at all, it was too deep but still he had a great time. There was a small wading pool to it that would be good for very young kids. I also noticed an outdoor baby pool. The Baer had a fantastic indoor water slide. The Loewe hotel seemed to cater to 4 years and younger with a great indoor Pirate water park - the slides in there were a bit too small for our son, with exception to the large water slide that you ride on a tube to go down. There was an indoor pool but we didnt swim in it, so I don't know how deep it was. We did swim in the heated outdoor pool (that you enter from inside) but again it was too deep for our son to stand in.
For the adults in summer, there was an organized town walking tour of Serfaus one day, some nordic walking and hiking on other days. There was a family cookout day on top of the mountain one day. The hotel claims to rent mountain bikes at 8 Euros per day however these bikes were very basic - more for riding around town - and I would not recommend counting on using them if you are an avid mountain biker. My husband is and rented from a sports shop at the base of the mountain lift for 30 Euros per day. The hotel gave us free lift tickets to last us the whole week, and we were also given a 150 Euro voucher for free spa services (I have no idea why!). The gondola lifts were located at the very end of the town, about a 15 minute walk from the hotel. There was a free subway near the hotel and it took 2-3 stops to get to the lifts however the subway was not running everyday until July. I am not sure how the hotel handles getting skiiers to the lifts in winter but I would definitely say that the hotel (neither the Baer or the Loewe) are nicely located to the base of the lifts. In the spa, I got a facial and pedicure, and was very impressed the results and capabilities of the staff. At the top of the lifts, there was a great playground for kids. A short 15 minute hike put your at a family fun park equipped with a huge toboggan ride, snow tubing, zip lining, etc.
The hotel had a "shoe room" where you could store hiking boots and strollers, and skis in the winter. We were told we could store a bike there if we brought our own lock. There was no lockers apparent for skis, so I am not sure how you would go about locking up your belongings. The hotel had strollers to use if you didnt want to bring your own.
The only other thing missing from the hotel was a working computer for guest internet use. Supposedly there is wireless internet in the bar, but none in the rooms. There was supposed to be a computer for use of the guests but there was not.
All in all it was a great trip, and we loved it as a relaxing summer vacation.
