Hotel Restaurant Ennstalerhof
Reviewed June 21, 2014

We stayed in Ennstalerhof for the 2nd time in June 2014. This time we had booked a room with afternoon sun, in the new department of the expanded building. Since we spend most of the time outdoor, walking and exploring the adventurous Ramsau am Dachstein, we loved the opportunity to take the coffee at the large balcony opposite the walking route Kulmbergrunde, over viewing the Main Street and the limited traffic coming through.. Not at all a problem, since traffic more or less died after 9-10 pm.
The family owned hotel is nice and spacy and very clean. The staff, and the owners are very friendly and obliging. The food is superb. We go for the half board, large breakfast buffet, nothing was missing. Dinner is presented on the menu in the morning at your table, this is when you decide which starter, main course and dessert you want, typically soup or a small dish with some delicious something, a salad buffet in between, main course of fish, meat or vegetarian and a dessert.
The service is without doubt, very professional, and you feel at home. Many guests, including ourselves has chosen to return to this very nice place.
When we stayed there last time it was very hot, 30-33 c every day. It was so nice to return to the large outdoor terrace and enjoy the Gösser Radler and a large Beer served by the owner, who obviously are working from breakfast through dinner, always having time for a small chit chat with all their guests.
If you travel with children, don't hesitate to book here. Children are very welcome. Also many local people held family dinners during the holidays Pfingsten, to me a sign that is is the favourite place to go for special occasions.
In the basement area you find a large Spa and Welness area with steam bath, sauna, jacuzzi and relaxroom, over viewing the nice garden of Ennstalerhof.
Massages and other treatments can be ordered. With the room you get a bathrobe and slippers on request, for free during your stay.
Only one critical point is the strength of the WiFi signal, which is not very stabil during day and evening hours.

Room Tip: Street side rooms with afternoon sun, rooms facing the valley Ennstal has the sunset.

Firstly I have to say I do not normally write reviews about hotels but we have just got back from a weeks stay in the Ennstalerhof in Ramsau am Dachstein and I have to say this family run hotel was perfect for our weeks skiing. Having stayed in some very beautiful and well known hotels around the world that were no where near as good as this little hotel when it comes to real customer service. Nothing at all was a problem, we were met with smiles on day one and I never saw one employee on any day without a smile on their face. What ever we asked for was dealt with, without problem fuss or issue. I have to say it really was a breath of fresh air, to have somewhere who knew how to add such a personal touch to everything. We left at the end of the week with the owner coming and waving us good bye from the side of the road. Every day our breakfast and four course evening meal was delicious, the hotel is spotlessly clean and the views are breathtaking. All in all fantastic !!!!

Room Tip: We had a junior suite on the second floor with wonderful views of the mountains
