Just returned from a long weekend at Hagg Hill Hall, and from beginning to end the stay was fantastic. A truly beautiful old property but with all the additions you need for a modern stay away from home - Sky TV, wifi, dishwasher and good shower! The house itself was lovely and spacious, with lots of different areas for everyone to spread out and relax. The bedrooms (some with antique four poster beds) had added touches of bottles of wine and water in each room, along with robes and slippers for use around the pool. The kitchen was very well equipped and the dining room was amazing - set with silverware and candles. The pool is a great addition, with an indoor and covered outdoor hottub. The garden is well enclosed for small children, but leads up to a large grassed 'playing field' and boat for those wanting more space. There is a also a lovely garden room for more relaxed dining.
There is a local shop within walking distance and large supermarkets within 10-15 minutes drive, and pubs and takeways in the two closest villages.
All in all a fantastic stay, and the owner (along with Daisy the dog) could not have been more welcoming and helpful. Highly recommended.

What a brilliant venue for an extended family celebratory break. Four wonderful days spent relaxing, swimming, hot tubbing, playing board games in the lounges and eating in the wonderful dining room. Made a truly delicious Indian take away and a barbecue into a really up market dining experience. Luscious, but at the same time, welcoming surroundings made this a wonderful holiday. Mel, the owner, was attentive and friendly; the birthday flowers were a lovely gesture. The kitchen is a 'downstairs' delight and I loved using the Aga.
Would I recommend the Hagg Hill Hall experience? Oh yes!
We stayed here as a family party of 17 for a long weekend. The house is fantastic and looked impressive even on a very rainy afternoon. The bedrooms were fantastic with a welcoming bottle of wine. and the provided bathrobes and slippers were a nice touch. Eating in the magnificent dining room was an experience in itself. The heated pool and hot tubs were an added bonus and were well used during the weekend. Again the extra towels provided by the pool were a nice touch. Would we return again? Most definitely.
What a wonderful weekend!! All the family loved it especially the grandkids the pool, boat and hot tubs kept them endlessly entertained. We'll be back just need to find an excuse for another celebration xxx

Stayed at Hagg Hill Hall for 3 nights and it is an amazing place to stay for a hen weekend! Mel the owner was very friendly and always accommodating with any help we needed. He gave us a tour when we arrived and the house is so lovely and packed full of history.
The 2 hot tubs came in very handy especially with 17 girls staying! They were checked alongside the pool twice a day by Mel and we're always clean!
All bedrooms had slippers, robes and bottles of water and wine which was a lovely touch.
Would advise anyone to stay there especially if you want somewhere with a private pool and hot tubs as you don't usually get that! We all had a great time!!
Well what can I say... To sum this place up in 3 words, it has to be, HEN PARTY HEAVEN!!!
Firstly, Mel is really helpful, and literally has thought of everything. There were 16 of us, & each of us had a lovely white robe and slippers. We all had wine and water in our room when we arrived. Each room has a beautiful four posted bed, and most have a gorgeous roll top bath. The showers are nice and powerful too!!
There are two hot tubs, one indoors by the pool and a new one which is outside under cover. Which are both great fun!!
The garden room is lovely, and the dining room is set up like in downtown abbey. It really has the wow factor!!
We went to Viper Rooms in Sheffield on the Saturday night, and ordered a table. It is brilliant in there. Really lovely decor and great music!!!
On Sunday we went to The Elm Tree in Chesterfield. We had to wait a little while for the food, but once it arrived, it was soooooo good!! We were all very impressed with the food in there.
Mel gave the hen some lovely flowers when we checked out which was a really nice touch. :-)
We all throughly enjoyed ourselves at Hagg Hill Hall. The house is just fantastic!!! :-)))) It was a truly unforgettable weekend!!
And would to return one day!
Xxx
Just got back from an amazing hen weekend, the house is beautiful with all it's period features, it's like being on the set of Downton Abbey. Melvyn the owner is a wonderful and very accommodating man, nothing is too much trouble and he just wants you to have an amazing time. We will definitely be going back again next year. 5* in every way
