“Fantastic holiday in a wonderful catered chalet”
Reviewed January 4, 2015 for a stay in December 2014

Have just returned from a fantastic skiing holiday, staying at Chalet Kassy in Morillon, France. Chalet Kassy is a beautiful chalet, really conveniently situated to the town and the main telecabin ski lifts. We've stayed at catered chalets before but this was definitely the best we've ever experienced...spacious, clean, lovely decor, hot tub with stunning views, comfy beds..I could go on. The best bit though was the way we were looked after. Our chalet hosts, Helen and Sarah, went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed and the food was amazing. Morillon is a lovely resort; not too busy but enough to do and you can easily ski to neighbouring Samoens, Les Carroz and Flaine from there. Really hope to return soon!

“Fab chalet & hosts - everything you need in both”
Reviewed January 4, 2015 for a stay in January 2015

The Chalet Kassy is beautifully positioned and well located for skiing and exploring the local area. It was great to leave our skis at Rol Sports right by the lifts for skiing and to be able to take the short walk down to the fields at the bottom to explore the tracks to Samoens by the river (lovely 1 hour walk). Helen and Sarah made sure we had everything we needed, best hosts we've had in our 5 years of catered chalets. There was plenty of space for 2 families with teenage children to be together and have space. Extra touches such as robes, bath products and slippers were appreciated. Sauna and jacuzzi were bliss. H&S have many contacts for other fun things to do such as snow shoeing and massage! Want to go back!

Liked best: The location space and layout
Liked least: Walls between bedrooms could do with a little more sound insulation, but not such a big deal!

The chalet is very nice, specious and clean. It is equipped with a high standard facilities such as jacuzzi, sauna cinema room. Very strong wi fi. Our host, Helen, did her best to make our stay comfortable.
Thank you to her.

The adjoined rooms has poor sound insulation internally.
It is important to understand how get hot water all the time without problems.
They refunded my security deposit after 10 days.
the quotation for the rent was in British Bound and suppose to be in Euro.

“Beautiful chalet in grand massif, fun for all!!”

A group of 12 of us visited chalet Kassy during the half term and for the price of the weeks stay were pleasantly surprised. For many of us, this was a first ski trip and I believe it was the perfect place to go.

While planning the trip Helen and Sarah were very prompt with any responses to queries I had and were happy to adapt the menu to suit any dietary requirements. Even when our flight was delayed they made contact so they could ensure they met us when we arrived.

The chalet itself is beautiful and the views from the hot tub were amazing, especially after fresh snowfall. The sauna and hot tub were heavenly after a hard day on the slopes. And the idea of having table tennis and a second entertainment room downstairs for big groups like ours, especially when the men wanted to watch the football, is a great idea.

The food was amazing, and it was always something completely different each night. Cal and Mia even made a birthday cake for my brother on the last night as it was his birthday the day we left which was a nice touch.

My only negative is that for a chalet that sleeps 12 there were times where someone would end up having a cold shower (even after pressing the booster) as there was not enough hot water. But when the chalet is so lovely and the service perfect, that can be overlooked.

I would recommend chalet Kassy to anyone and hope that we will also be returning there when we can.

Thank you for our lovely review. We had fun looking after you, what a lovely group you were. Sorry to hear that you ran out of hot water during your stay, we have 2 x 300 litre boilers, so 600 litres of hot water per day, but if all 12 of you are having showers and baths morning and evening, you can use the booster button to turn on the boilers out of their programmed nightly heat cycle, and this takes just under 2 hours to heat up another 600 litres of hot water. We've now reprogrammed the timer, so the boilers will automatically heat the water twice a day, so all guests can be squeaky clean!
I hope you will consider staying with us again in the future :)

“Beautiful Chalet in Morillion with great views of the Alps”
Reviewed May 4, 2014 for a stay in March 2014

I stayed here with family whilst skiing in the Grand Massiff region. The chalet looks great and is really well kitted out with all the amenities you need from the basics through to more luxurious items like hot tub, sauna, cinema room and wood burning stove to keep you warm after a 'hard' days skiing! All of the rooms were well maintained and the chalet itself looks like its pretty new. Location wise its fantastic, only a short walk to the ski lifts (if there had been more low altitude snow when I visited I think we could potentially have even skied directly out of the chalet!), there is also a nearby shop, bakery and a few bars & restaurants. All in all a great place I would thoroughly recommend to others!

“Beautiful Haven After A Great Day Skiing On The Gand Massif”

This beautiful, spacious and well equipped chalet in Morillon was simply fabulous. It was handy for ski rental and the Cable car, enjoyed a 15 percent discount on equipment rental and was simply delightful to return to after a hard days skiing. We loved the Sauna, the Hot Spa Bath, the Wood Burner Stove and the well equipped and stocked kitchen. The table Tennis and Home Cinema room were a great bonus. With an ATM at the foot of the road, super market on the right an a boulangerie to the left it could not have been easier. The property managers were lovely and so friendly and helpful. This was a real taste of opulent living in the usually frugal lifestyle of an activity break with the family. We simply loved everything about it.

“Superb chalet with wonderful food. The perfect ski holiday!”
Reviewed February 18, 2014 for a stay in February 2014

We have just returned from a fantastic week at Chalet Kassy. I couldn't recommend it more highly. We were a group of 9 adults and 3 children under 3 and the chalet was perfect for our needs.
As we were travelling with extended family we had initially been concerned there could be friction with everyone on top of each other. However Sarah and Helen were absolutely superb hosts and made the whole week perfect.
The chalet is really spacious so we didn't feel on top of each other at all. 5 proper bedrooms plus a TV room that can also be converted into a double bedroom.
The bedrooms were all a decent size with ensuite bathrooms and most importantly for skiing, lots of cupboard and storage space! The beds were comfortable and there were nice touches like dressing gowns and slippers provided.
The place was modern and spotlessly clean and the living area is very large and open plan with comfortable seating for 10 and a dining table that comfortably seats 10 too.
And lets not forget the hot tub and sauna which are superb too ad surely one of the highlights!
helen and Sarah and their staff were friendly, flexible and helpful and made an effort to accommodate our picky requests for children. Cots and high chairs were provided as well as an early tea for the children each day.
We took the catered option and I would highly recommend it. Every morning we had a lovely breakfast with fresh based pastries, bacon, eggs, bread and fruit served and then cleared up. Fresh baked cakes every day, G & Ts served in the hot tub, and best of all a superb 4 course meal each night. We all love our food and were so impressed with our meals each night.
They also really don't scrimp on the unlimited beer and wine included with dinner. We gave it our best shot and were never told there was no more!
The only tiny thing not quite perfect is just that it takes a while to get on the slopes. It's a 5 min walk to the telecabine but you need to take that and another chairlift to really do any skiing. Realistically it's probably 40 mins from leaving the chalet before you're skiing but this was never a problem.
The area is great with a really good choice of runs and better still the ladies have a relationship with one of the ski hire shops who can let you store your skis and boots next to the telecabine so you don't have to carry them!
Overall it was by far the best skiing accommodation we have had and I really hope to do it again soon!

Thank you for our glowing review, it was a pleasure looking after you all. If it's not too cheeky, we just wanted expand on your comment of it being 40 mins until you are on the slopes from leaving the chalet, as this might put some future guests off! The telecabine is a 5 minute walk from the chalet in normal footwear, you can walk in ski boots, but as they aren't really suited to walking, we arrange for your equipment to be stored for free in the shop next to the lift. You pick this up each morning, it's all very simple, friendly and relaxed as you have a Chalet Kassy storage rack. The telecabine then takes you to Les Esserts in 5 minutes, and you can then either ski down to the village on the red or blue run, these runs were closed during your stay, ( new snow canons are being installed to ensure good snow coverage on these lower runs) or you can take the fast Sairon chairlift which take 8 minutes to whizz you up, to have access to the whole of the 265km of pistes. These timings are excluding putting on your ski boots, which of course need to be factored in at the start of any ski day, either before or after you leave the chalet, plus the obligatory losing your sunglasses, only to find they have been on the top of your head all along!
