“Fabulous cottage in a brilliant setting”
Reviewed August 31, 2017 for a stay in August 2017

We stayed at Cordwainers over the August bank holiday and from the moment we drove into Winchelsea felt that we were in for a good weekend ( sunshine all weekend also contributed). The house has everything you need to be self catering and is near to a couple of good places to eat- the village pub and a walk across a National Trust field to The Lodge. We were a party of adults but it would work easily well with children. Easy to drive to Winchelsea Beach, Rye and other coastal places. Walking around the village is delightful and the village shop has lovely fresh produce. We would highly recommend it and would go back there ourselves.

“Perfect choice”
Reviewed August 22, 2017 for a stay in August 2017

Peaceful location with wonderful views on the edge of a lovely village. Good enclosed garden, safe for dogs. Truly comfortable house with everything you could possibly need, including an open fire in the lounge with wood provided. Just the place to enjoy our very welcome pack of bubbly and biscuits. Thank you Helen.

“Gorgeous house in a lovey spot”
Reviewed September 7, 2016 for a stay in August 2016

8 of us stayed comfortably at cordwainers over the long August bank holiday weekend. The house itself is absolutely lovely and was able to accommodate 4 adults and 4 children with ease. Everything we needed was provided including a high chair and travel cot. Winchelsea is a beautiful village and the views from the house are the icing on the cake. Couldn't recommend highly enough.
Thanks to Helen for accommodating us so well.

Reviewed August 20, 2016 for a stay in August 2016

Just arrived back after a great stay at this lovely house, two families of four fitted in comfortably, the views from the decking over to Rye were stunning, the weather for the week was splendid which always helps, the local pub was also nice with decent food and friendly staff, We are already considering booking again for next year. Great house, great area great holiday.

“Fantastic location”
Reviewed May 3, 2016 for a stay in April 2016

Really lovely house and garden, party of 8 adults stayed, well equiped kitchen although a rather small dinning table but understand that's being addressed, not quite enough room all to sit together in the sitting room but not a problem to bring in other chairs. Bedrooms lovely although the twin room had no room for a wardrobe. Great outside space for BBQ with outside seating and eating, wonderful views. A lovely welcome of wine and biscuits left by the owner. Fantastic walks from the house over beautiful countryside. Ate at the local pub 2 evening, good pub food and lovely staff. Well stocked local shop and open on Sunday for bread etc. would go back to stay.

You never know when you rent someone elses house what you may be getting! But take it from us-this house fell neatly into place when we opened the door.
Spent Christmas here with children and grand children and it was lovely.
Could not fault anything (except the dustbins are not big enough for Christmas wrappings and food wrappings for three families-only joking).
We had a great time and would happily return--in the summer the situation of Cordwainers must make for stunning views.
